Usher was very rude I wasn't aware of that no photography was allowed at all. Despite several other audience members taking photos. She came over and chewed me out for trying to get one picture in a nasty and unpleasant tone. I had no idea since the tickets were last minute gifts from someone else, so I did not get a email telling me otherwise before hand, nor did I see any signs in easy eyesight stating otherwise. Don't bother emailing them complaints they just assume and copy paste responses to justify terrible attitude from staff. Sad that it had to ruin a event with my family because someone was rude with little to no reason to do so. I had not taken photos before or argued with the staff at all, definitely won't go again.

I keep forgetting the downside to this venue. For nearly $600 for two up close tickets, I expect to be able to hear the performance. But people who know far more than I do decided (several years ago) to spend many thousands of dollars to replace a sound system that worked with one that is totally inadequate. I'm sure the "buddy" who got the sound contract is ecstatic. Like everything associated with the Center for the Arts (especially tickets) the patron pays the price.

Always a lovely theater. Parking is not close and can be expensive for events ($25+ ion a lot). Great staff, great service. Don't bring anything later than a small clutch or crossbody bag. They no longer allow purses or bags of any kind and there's security at the door for plays and events.

This facility is top notch. Though it physically lacks the visual appeal of some older theaters, I am going to see the show and I'm more concerned about acoustics and sight lines. I also appreciate the generous aisles in each row. Parking is a challenge, but then again, it can be challenging for any downtown destination.

Had an amazing time at les miserables ,even though the play started earlier than the time they said. The show was still SO GOOD! and the actors were very talented and the orchestra was amazing! The only downside I had was the workers there, one of the ladies at the merchandise line was very rude to me because I had a hard time knowing what I wanted, and another one made me and my sister find our seats in the pitch dark and it was incredibly uncomfortable. Other than that amazing play and best time of my life. I would definitely see it again and again and again!

My husband and I came to Spokane to see Les Miserables after I had already seen it in Seattle and needed to see Nick Cartell play 24601 at least one more time before the tour concludes. (Seriously - if it's coming to your town, go see the show. Nick Cartell is the best Jean Valjean since Colm Wilkinson and Alfie Boe. I swear I felt God's comfort in my soul when he sang "Bring Him Home"). Anyway...what was I talking about? Oh yeah! First Interstate Center for the Arts. The theater is nice and modern with comfortable seats. Unfortunately, there seemed to be something going on with the acoustics that kind of dampened the orchestra which was kind of sad - that's one of the best parts of seeing a musical live! And there's so much going on in Les Mis within the orchestra if the acoustics are great (like the cymbal/gong imitating waves crashing against the boat in the very beginning scenes). The voices of the singers were not as good as they were in Seattle either, due to the acoustics, but it feels like the tech department got that sorted out because they were pretty good in the second half! Another thing that was extremely distracting was that, during certain points, that ushers brought in audience members who hadn't gotten in on time. They would shine the flashlights up the wall and it was SO DISTRACTING. One thing that I did like a lot was a designated place to wait for an Uber. Spokane is very walkable but I was in high heels for the first time since I had kids and I was not ready to walk even half a mile back to the hotel!I will always give this theater a try if a show that I want to see is in town but I prefer the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle when that is an option.

They say the show will start promptly with big light, which is not the case. My show was at 7 and did not start till 713. The drinks are really expensive and the water fountain tastes really gross. On the ticket they don't tell you which door to enter which makes it really hard when there is a lot of people. The sound was good, and I could hear and see pretty good on the floor for being 5 feet 3 is nice.

Saw Roy Rogers and Bonnie Raitte which was epic!!! The seats were comfy, lots of leg room, great sound system. Just a couple of audience members did rude heckling which made me want to crawl under the chair. Awkward. I wish people would be more respectful. Yet not bad... 99.9999 of audience members were awesome and seemed to compensate for the inappropriate compadre. Beautiful venue no matter where you sit and world class musicians that night. Blessed with their artistry. The attendants made you feel at home too.

Easy in and easy out comfortable seating so why a three I believe the sound could have been better - you can hear it definitely loud enough but the mic'd up actors and actresses were not clear. I asked around at intermission and received a unanimous response from all the people I asked that we all were not able to make out all the words.

Great experience no matter where you sit. Sound is always crisp and line of sight to the stage is outstanding. The variety of acts/productions that are booked is really good. From concerts to Broadway quality plays, this venue continues to impress.

We attended the "Tina" Turner show during one of their matinee performances. We were highly impressed with everything about the venue, cast, musicians, and performance. As for the performance itself, the first half (while completely necessary to bring the story all together) was difficult to watch due to the racism and domestic violence that she had to endure in her early years. Even more disturbing was a lack of vocal distain by most of the audience while witnessing it. My wife and I had no problem yelling at the actors during those scenes. Even though it was a portrayal of horrific events, not reacting to it (at least verbally) is why it still exists. My blood boils when this occurs and people shy away or say nothing. True, I am a retired SPD Officer of 40 years service so may be a little presumptuous but everyone has an obligation to stand up and defend a victim. The second half of the performance was a full on concert starring the essence of Tina Turners spirit with excellence everywhere by everyone. 5 STARS all around. Thank you and good night Tina.

Great venue. Food is allowed inside. Be aware that you can only bring in a clear small bag.
