We had an ok experience renting from Dollar but the car had the most horrible smell. It took me 24 hours to determine that there were ‘deodorizers’ clipped onto the air vents. So not only did the car have a terrible ‘perfumed’ odor, but when we’d turn on the fan to circulate fresh air, the smell would intensify. Most people aren’t aware that these ‘scents’ are not only unpleasant to some people, but they are composed of toxic chemicals that are linked to cancer and other health issues. Dollar- please stop polluting your cars and our bodies!!

I rented a car online from Dollar Rent a Car. The price given online as opposed to pick up price at the Spokane International Airport was a $100. more. No one has time while traveling to argue about price ! what a ripoff !

Don't rent from this location!!! All sorts of hidden fees, they politely scam you. I have rented from other Dollar locations and they were fine. So disappointed in this location

This is the worst car rental business I have ever interacted with and highly recommend you book elsewhere. I booked a vehicle online for my parents who speak limited English so that upon traveling to Spokane for a funeral, they could easily pick up the car and get to their destination. When my parents arrived to pick up the vehicle, they were informed by Zach that carrying rental insurance on the vehicle was required in the state of WA. They attempted to dispute this and said they had their own car insurance coverage and have never had to buy additional insurance. Again, because they don't speak English fluently, they didn't fully understand what was happening and added the coverage under the impression they would not be able to rent a car and leave the facility without it. Upon their return and seeing their final charges I called to inquire about the 'required' insurance. I was told it as not required but that my parents "willingly" added the optional coverage. Of course I disputed how someone can willingly add something they don't fully comprehend. I requested a refund and was told the case would be reviewed by Dan/Keith and someone would get back to me. No one ever got back to me so I called to follow up and spoke with Zach directly. I'm not surprise he defended his actions, told me the charges would stand, and then hung up. Keep the money. At the end of the day, it's about your business ethics and practice of taking advantage of customers with limited English proficiency. We won't be back here nor will our family members from Spokane and Seattle. This was our first and will be our last transaction with Dollar Car Rentals. Like your own subjective in-house review process, this is my review of your business and it stands. Do better.

The Dollar/Thrifty rental at the Spokane Airport has consistently been the worst car rental facility ever. Last trip, the vehicle was all dented, scratched and filthy inside. This trip, the car was empty of washer fluid, in the winter, after a snowstorm, and no one was available to provide any. I finally gave up and drove to the closest gas station and purchased some. Then, I never received a receipt for my rental. It was supposed to be emailed to me but never was. A week later, per the instructions on the website, I tried requesting a receipt, and never received one. Absolutely horrible customer service. I finally gave up and had to submit a copy of my credit card statement to my company for the expense report.

I booked a rental via the AAA app with Dollar because my car was totaled in an accident and my new car wasn’t quite ready. I arrived at the airport (only location open on sundays) to pick up the car and was told they had a policy and would not rent to me because I was local to the area and locals trashed and stole the cars. I am a unexciting 43 yr old professional who booked through AAA, not exactly a big rental risk. I stared in disbelief and continue to be appalled by the horrendous customer service and unadvertised policy. I spent $120 more than my original reservation amount with their competitor who kindly hooked me up in under 10 minutes at the next counter over. Please avoid this company if you can, who knows what other made up policies they use against customers.

I’ve never had a bad rental experience until this place. As another reviewer said, made up claims about vehicle damage that doesn’t exist, with wildly expensive repair estimates, aggressively pursued. Avoid them for every reason elucidated by reviewers in this site.

Total racket. I know of three incidents of finding phantom vehicle damage (no accident, no external or visible damage) with a sister collection agency aggressively pursing the renters months later. BEWARE

BEWARE...BEWARE...BEWARE.We returned the car and a week later I got a $300 charge for smoke damage. No phone call, no explanation. There was no smoke damage, no one smoked in the car. I was the only driver. I rent cars at least 3 times a year and have never had this problem before. I will NEVER rent from this Dollar again and after the fact, I reviewed their yelp reviews by others and this seems to be a common practice for them. My credit card company reversed the charges-

This company has a very limited area that they do not warn you of when you reserve your vehicle and if you go out of it it costs 32 cents per mile. Ruined my road trip. Since this reservation won’t work for the trip I was planning now have to find an alternate rental day of. Uber costs, time and extra rental fees mean this is going to cost an extra 400-500$ for the same trip. Should’ve used enterprise.

Rented this vehicle and returned this vehicle and they said it was damaged with smoke! We do not smoke nor in this vehicle!!!!!! Will never recommend or rent from them ever again! I will make sure our travel agent knows this as well. They get you for stuff after you return the vehicle for bullshit besides an extra buck! Watch out for these scammers!!!!!

Absolutely horrible customer service experience. I booked a car with dollar car rental on thursday the 30th of April. I looked up the house on the website, it stated that Dollar car rental is open until 12:30 am. I arrived at the airport at 11:30pm. Dollar car rental was closed. I wasted 1.5 hours of my time. Next morning I get up and look at the hours, according to the website, dollar car rental should be open. At 7:30 AM, Dollar car rental is still closed, I also called the phone number in the valley, its is a WRONG NUMBER. BY FAR THE WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER. Dont go to Dollar car rental. This company does not comply with standard rules. The hours posted on the website is absolutely a dishonest hours of operations, they are not open according to the hours on the website. I called in the morning, no one is there, Dollar car rental also closed earlier without updates for the hours on the website.

Fast and Friendly Service - Jeff the counter guy as very friendly and thorough. He got us on our way in a jiffy. Our car was outstanding, clean, and what we needed to tackle the current weather conditions.
