During the oregon fire in elk wa. My family and I got told to evacuate. We ended up at riverside. We got signed in. On the 3rd day a red cross member confronted my son who is 11 and his aunt who was also displaced. They didn't believe we where displaced and wanted them to prove where they where and what vehicals we owned. Jo beneman was very unprofessional and when I went to confront the issue. She Said they have to sort out the homeless. And I said we are all kinda homeless at the moment. then they where shipping out the supplies that where donated to the people affected by the oregon fire and sent it somewhere else. And they say they are non profit. I had more sincere people and companies drive up to us in the parking lot and offer services or food and water then the red cross ever did. Shame on the red cross for being this way and being unprofessional and compassion is not there game. People be aware when donating. Better off going to the people in need or 3rd party like a church or a vfw post. Your donations will have a better chance of helping the community that had been impacted.

Do not take CRP or first aid from here. I booked for a CRP class in October. Did all my online work, which did not save. Told customer service I had my certificate and they said it wasnt valid because even though I had my certificate their system did not record it as completed. Then on the day of my in person training I called to say I'd be 5 minutes late due to a work emergency and no one answered the phone. When I arrived the doors were locked. I tried ringing the bell & knocking and no one answered the door. Tried calling the phone again with no answer. When I contacted customer service again they said I'd have to rebook and repay. And they didnt have any more classes for 4 more months which means they wont accept my only certificate because it's been too long between my online class and their in person class. This place is just a scam for money. Read everything carefully and take photos as you complete the online sectiona if you have no choice but to go here.

I signed up for a CPR / First Aid class in January 2020 at the Red Cross in Spokane, WA. On the day of the class, a Saturday, the students showed up, but the teacher was a no-show. The Red Cross building was locked, but I and others in the class phoned the number posted on the building and provided in our class registration materials. The person who answered said she couldn't do anything except reschedule us for another class. I noted that there must be someone in charge in Spokane who would have the instructor's phone number, but the Red Cross representative said she didn't have that information. I asked to speak to someone at a higher level and was connected to another Red Cross representative. That person said the same thing -- they do not have contact information for anyone in Spokane who would have the instructor's phone number; all they can do is reschedule the students. The two people I spoke with that Saturday were polite. However, one would think when a class is canceled due to a last-minute instructor no-show, the Red Cross would get in touch with the students and provide an explanation or an apology, but it's been over a week since the canceled class and I've heard nothing from the Red Cross.

Piss-poor website lacking site map or contact info. I wished to explore volunteer opportunities but, of those listed, I couldn't understand what the job duties would be due to the impenetrable language used. I spent over half an hour filling out the volunteer application only to arrive at the final entry, which was a request for my SS number. I will not give it out to the Red Cross so you have lost a potential volunteer. It seems you can run a background check based upon my name, birthdate and address, no?

Not only nobody at the reception desk, but nobody in the entire office for 15 min during business hours! Had to wait 15 min only to be met by a upset, angry, disrespectful, and unhelpful young lady. After trying to purchase a book that's required for one of their classes, she said they don't sell it. After asking where in Spokane I can buy it, she said they don't sell it!! How incompetent and unhelpful! She should be reprimanded and they should start offering the required materials for their own classes!!

Such a pain to get my cpr certificate after completing the class... still have not received email about it or anything. No employee can help you when you call for some reason also.
