I reserved a car on the Thrifty website with the full damage liability waiver. This was confirmed in the reservation email I received. When I picked up the car, the contract I was given had the damage liability waiver removed. I did not notice, I should have looked more closely.
The contract stated that I had "declined" the damage liability waiver. This is a blatant lie, I selected it when making the reservation, and was not offered it when picking up the car, had I been, I would have selected it. When I inquired about this, the staff lied to my face and said my reservation did not list the damage liability waiver in it.
After my rental Thrifty sent me an email asking me to fill out a survey. I did so, stating the above. They said they would reach out within 72 hours to review this problem. They never did. Thrifty is a dishonest company. This location is run and owned by dishonest people, doing dishonest things. I would never rent from Thrifty. If there were no other rental cars available it would be better to take an Uber.
Since the owner has responded saying they are extremely sorry, I would simply ask what are they going to do differently going forward to prevent this from happening again?

They lied to my face and said I was required to have full coverage insurance to rent within Washington. Upon googling and showing them this wasn’t accurate they refused to rent me a car.
I was sent from the Ford dealership, who was working on my car and waiting for a part for 2+ months at this point, so they were paying.
Ford refused to rent from any other company, forcing me to get full coverage costing several hundred dollars out of pocket for a recall repair.
All in all Thrifty uses scummy business practices, pressures the consumer far too much, burdens you with a ton of surcharges, and has no qualms about unethical practices by there employees.
I can see why they have been incentivizing 5 star reviews. The ratio of 1:5 star reviews shows how bad they are.

Due to our vehicle being in the shop for 2 months, KIA arranged a rental through this location until ours was ready.
July 31 I picked up a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Today, Aug 12/24, I received a call from a lady from there saying we need to take the vehicle back this week due to it having a recall. I asked if they would come and exchange the vehicle for me as I work in Spokane Valley and this is a terrible week to do this but she said no.
This week is crazy busy and my brother in law is having triple bypass surgery on Thursday.
I got off the phone and looked up how serious this recall was by entering the exact VIN number. Zero recalls on this car. I was just lied to. Unbelievable!!!
I called Andrew as that’s who I dealt with and eventually, after some prodding, admitted he told her to lie as they needed it back for some fleet issue.
When did it become so natural to lie to customers and that be OK? How do companies stay in business lying to people?
I run a business also and I would fire an employee that out and out lied to a customer for no reason. Just tell the truth!!! We’re all adults.
I would never deal with a company that treated their clients this way especially when KIA works with them as an account. I will strongly urge KIA to find another rental agency as this reflects poorly on their Brand as well.
I told them they can come get it. I’m not wasting any more time with them and my contract isn’t over so yeah, the gas tank isn’t full either… my agreement was the car would be returned when we got ours back.
I asked for the manager/owners name and Andrew wouldn’t give it to me. Could you imagine? So arrogant or scared that a staff member wouldn’t even provide that?? To add to his first lie, he said he would pass this along to him and that the owner would contact me. I asked when…. He said by the end of the day. Yeah sure… that didn’t happened either. Does no one have any self respect in business anymore???
This is the last thing I needed after dealing with KIA and so far, waiting 2 months + for a replacement warranty engine.
EDIT….You REALLY know you’re in for no results when you get a cookie-cutter response exactly the same as every other negative review below… ?
My last name is Russell….

Excellent customer service! Kudos going out to Jake and the nice young lady who drove me out to George Gee! I wish I could recall her name! I would definitely recommend them for all your rental car needs!

Was told when I rented that I could return early to avoid additional charges, when I showed up 2 days early to return they billed me for the full week saying I booked a weekly rate. Can you say bait and switch? Will be using a different car rental company in the future. Very disappointed.

I reserved a car for my trip through Expedia. Expedia is great. I had a car reservation and price set for 3 hundred. I get there the kid said it was 650. He was rude. I'll never rent from them ever. I went to enterprise and received great service and price.

Lied too and mislead incorrect information and when was told I was given wrong info and confirmed I was given wrong info, there was no alternative and no care from the employees. Legit said nothing we can do. Have a nice day. did nothing about it. Do not come here and waste money here

I have had several good experiences with this particular thrifty car rental in Spokane Valley. They have been very helpful, and offer competitive rates, which is usually what I’m looking for with a car rental agency.
The ease of pick up and drop off is also a huge bonus with this place.
I realize all thrifty car rentals are not created equal, but the staff here are excellent compared to other agencies that I have dealt with.

Stay away! They refused to uphold my reservation because I didn't have the correct type of insurance, and wouldn't sell me any for some strange reason. They didn't specify on their website prior to making the reservation this as a criteria, only notified me when I showed up to get the vehicle. The attendants were very careless about the whole situation like it was just normal business. This cost me a day away from work and sixty dollars for an Uber to and from the rental store. Keep your money and avoid this place.

Had to have work done on my new car and the service department was able to get me a rental car through Thrifty. It was the smoothly process of picking up and dropping off the vehicle. Definitely will use them in again if I need any car work done!

The "check engine" light in the car I was given was on. Josh was extremely dismissive of this when I brought it up, asking repeatedly if I was sure and if I knew which light was the check engine light; "are you sure it wasn't the tire pressure light?". He came across as extremely patronizing and I strongly suspect he would not have had this attitude and tone if I were a man. Pictures attached - I didn't think I would need to have photos when I went in to tell them about it, so these were taken later in the day, as he sent me out with the same car. The car ran apparently fine, despite the check engine light intermittently coming on.

I reserved a car through Expedia online and when I arrived they wouldn’t let me rent the car because I only had a debit card. She asked me if I had a return flight and I informed her that I didn’t but I could book it. Then she proceeded to tell me that I had to have booked it 24 hours in advance. So I was left stranded at the airport with no vehicle and 2 little kids. When I asked if there was any other options, her answer was “call an Uber.” No apologies…just rude.
