Hug Construction customer service is weak and unhelpful. They gave me an estimate without telling me what parts of the project are contained in the estimate. Their "estimate" was a brush off, I believe, and I would have much preferred an honest response, such as they don't want to work out of town, they don't want to take on the size of my project, or whatever. When I asked again for what the estimate covers, I received a response that didn't include what the original estimate covered, and a new estimate for an additional $50K. I am definitely not impressed and glad I didn't get further involved with this company.

I had the pleasure of working with Nate at HUG Construction. HUG, and Nate specifically has been an exceptional contractor for our Dream home, and we could not be happier with the results.From start to finish, Nate's professionalism and expertise shone through. (Also, a huge shot out to Angie and Lisa in their office, Tyler+framing crew, and Titus, the owner. Their team is truly top-notch.)Before finding HUG, we contacted and briefly worked with six other well-known builders in the Spokane area. Granted, this was just after Covid, but we experienced an extreme lack of communication, contradicting information, and bad quotes. We felt very much "How much $ can we get out of these people." Our lender asked if we had called HUG because he had heard great things.From our first meeting, they were ready to move as fast as we were, which was refreshing. They gave us quick "ballpark" numbers that helped narrow down what we wanted to build. We felt very welcomed and could tell exceptional customer service was something they valued.They managed our project with excellent efficiency, all while allowing me the freedom to pick the materials that I wanted. The attention to detail and quality of workmanship were truly impressive.They have a builders app that makes all aspects of building extremely convenient. The app included progress updates, photos, notes from crews, tentative timelines, change orders, and selections.Lisa and Nate both provided wonderful ideas and locations for finishes. Many local suppliers work with Hug frequently, offering great prices, which was much appreciated! Between the app and the office staff, everything was so well organized. They always kept us informed and addressed any concerns promptly.The communication with Nate was PHENOMENAL. I could always count on him to be upfront, transparent, and pick up my call even when I know he may not have wanted to ;)Nate and the staff's commitment to customer satisfaction was evident in every interaction. If you want to build or remodel, I highly recommend Nate and his outstanding team.*If you are calling for more information, ask for Nate at the beginning.

Hug was willing to work with me within my budget to make my project happen. Everyone I worked with from Hug was responsive and understanding to our needs. We ultimately finished the project ourselves (painting, trim, etc) to stay within our budget. But none of it could have happened without Hug doing the major build. We are totally enjoying our expanded Bedroom, kitchen, master bath and reworked stairs to the basement.

We had two major jobs done back to back by HUG. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with this company. There were multiple issues , to many to include here. We have a cement floor that was not sloped correctly causing water to pool in our new shop addition. The addition was not framed correctly so there is a jog in the front elevation of our home now. The response rom HUG on these issues was there was “nothing they could do now” I had to re-do multiple items such as plumbing leaks, adjusting doors, etc. When there was an issue after the work was done, we could not even get some basic questions answered, let alone any assistance.The crew was great, but there is no management to speak of and the owner has no interest in hearing customer concerns. The contact person we ended up with by the end was consistently rude and condescending. Once they have your money, you are on your own. I would not recommend using this company for even a small simple task. Do not make the mistake we made.Services: Paint indoors

Driver in company’s truck bombing down Driscoll blowing through 4 way stops. Doesn’t seem very cautious. Sounds like it’s the usual for these guys based on the reviews. :(

Edit:I was contacted by the business and they are taking care of it. So I changed my review. It is the employee doing this, not them. Unfortunate he used a work van to drive off in.I was at Ross and some middle aged guy, blond hair, tattoos stole a huge armload of clothes and got into a Hug Construction van and drove off with a get away driver. How disgusting to have someone like him representing your business in the community. He belongs in prison.

Whoever was driving on mission this morning was going 40 past my kids school. Any grown adult who doesn't care about the children walking to school in the morning and only cares about getting to his worksite on time... You need to get your priorities straight bud. HUG Construction tore down an existing shed patio roof and built us a beautiful new roof and new, extended concrete patio including new lighting and fan. It is a great new entertaining space. It was a great experience for us and we'd hire them in a minute again!!! The work is very high quality at a very good price!Services: Fan installation
