I highly recommend the Cascadia Inn if you're looking for simple and affordable accomodation. I stayed in the Euro queen room with the bathroom down the hall. The bathroom area was clean, showers were hot with good water pressure. No TV, but there is wifi and a table in the room which was great for working. Also convenient was a communal fridge to store some food overnight. The host Henry was very nice, he let me check in a bit early, and shared tips to avoid traffic.
The walls might be a bit thin, I could faintly hear someone snore in another room, but that didn't bother me as there weren't many guests staying at the same time as me.
If you need a place to get lunch, there is a delicious Lao food truck in Gold Bar called Zaap Der (best meal I had all week)

A cute little blast from the past! Henry is accessible when needed, and had short notice availability for us. Close proximity from Stevens Pass for skiing and we enjoyed watching the trains go by. You may be able to find something better on Airbnb for a large group, but this is the best and most cost effective options when traveling as just a couple. We’ll be back!

Henry was very helpful and understanding with our many schedule changes. It's a quick trip to Stevens Pass, and a beautiful location!Rooms: Small, but the point is to sleep here and go out to do things during the day.Food & drinks: The Cafe next door is great!

This is a very old and very well kept hotel. Cleanliness in rooms and shared bathrooms and hallways was great. Beds are firm. You should bring your own good pillow though. The heat runs off and on every few minutes and there is no in-room control. It was too warm. The operator was very welcoming and available. I just needed a one night bed. I don’t plan on a return though.

Pros: great location if going up to Steven's pass, great hospitalityCons: overpriced (although there are basically no other options at this price point to start with), rooms/bathrooms are not updated and barely functioning (knob was broken in bathroom sink, water in shower was not warm enough), no heat control in the room but to me the temperature was decent. Not sure if I would stay again. But for the area, it is likely the cheapest option but don't go expecting a 2 or 3 star hotel.

There is no control for the heat in the rooms. Was 78 degrees with window all the way open. Was a sweat box. Bathrooms are really really small and communal. Overpriced for the

Highway 2 was closed due to fire. I called the hotel to see if they had any rooms and Henry took my call late at night and got up and met us at the hotel, he was very accommodating and friendly. You have the option of a shared bathroom at a lower rate or a private bath, we took the private bath and the room was nice, the bed was fantastic!

Stayed here on the way up the ski. Don't expect the Hilton, but everything was clean and Henry was very nice and accommodating. We got a room with a private bathroom. Will stay again
