Horrible. They only care about their money. Not customers

If you are looking to get a loan for an rv or something don't go here. We have tried twice now to get an rv loan and we got denied both times. At first all the guy said was our score needed to be at 620 we are above that mark but still cant get one. Maybe if the people where trained better then we would get the real info we needed from the start, not some guy saying we only need 620. Its not fair to us.
Update: I went here today 10/5/24 to try to get a $8,000 motorcycle load and the payments would have been $177/month so I could easily afford that. So after running my credit I was flat out denied, and tried going for a simple $500 limit credit card again and was denied for that too. The person helping me was polite and everything but now i have completely lost my faith in becu and now coming to the conclusion that it's impossible to get any kind of loan at all. If becu doesn't trust me with a loan, why the hell would they think I would trust them with a $500 personal loan????? Once I find a new bank I am switching. I will not bank with a bank if they don't trust me.

This branch is so much more helpful than other branches I have visited. Whitney S. helped us set up a new account and credit card after some fraud issues with another institution and it was so simple and easy! My friend who I assisted is new to credit unions and Whitney made sure she understood every step. When there was an issue with online banking Whitney took care of it in less than 5 minutes ?

Wish I could remember her name. Very dark wavy long hair, glasses. . I went in with my former business partner to take me off the business account. Once she found out what we wanted to do she became super cold and rude to me. I have a personal account with BECU and this interaction left me second guessing if I should close my personal account as well.

I've been with BECU for a long time. I call them with questions the 1st authenticate me when I'm calling for information or have questions.

Autocratic banking. Credit card and checking although legally separated they will pirate your money without your consent. If you have a credit card with this place don’t keep anything in your checking or they will take it without your authorization. Feel free to see the CFPB disputes with this institution. Crashing and burning like its parent company.

BECU, specifically this location does not accept auto loan payments made with a check in the branch, requiring their customers to use an atm to make a deposit into a BECU account, to further make a payment to a BECU loan using online banking. The explanation, “they’re not tellers.”Well, customer service reps (non-tellers) at other banks and credit unions can accept payments from their clients using a check when no cash is involved. This is a simple investment in a check reader that connects to their computers at their desks.Furthermore, they do not allow for automatic payments to made from another financial institution to a BECU loan. I was told by their branch manager it’s because “they’re a non-profit and don’t have the money to pay for those services.” Absolutely ludicrous. This is a basic function provided by credit unions and banks.Additionally, their online banking platform doesn’t allow their clients to set up automatic payments from a BECU account to a BECU loan. The branch has to establish the automatic payment.I was told “you can mail a check to BECU, or drive to Tukwila.”This is requiring me to drive to Tukwila to make for a simple banking transaction, monthly!Who mails a check, when mail theft is at an all time high. BECU’s recommendation place their members at risk for potential check theft. Ironically, their online banking advertises to their clients on how the client can protect themselves from check/identity theft.Frankly, this type of decision made from their leadership has resulted in me choosing to not proceed with additional services. What a loss opportunity for BECU to serve their community with basic banking functions, while also expanding their relationship with their clients, potential financial gains through client product acquisition. Because BECU is a “non-profit,”those financial gains would ultimately benefit their members.

BECU was great- in and out with a new bank account. No complaints whatsoever. Excellent credit union!

Really sad that all my business is pushed to an ATM.(no tellers) and if you do speak to people. They are rude. Day one had eyes rolled at me snarky remarks when I asked why no tellers. When I declined offers they where added any how. Online banking is something special. I have to verify with a code EVERY TIME FOR MONTHS NOW.when I've called and or walked in to ask when it will stop I get treated like a Karen. When paper work was done I was led to the ATM. If u get paid by check. U won't get your money tell several days later. Do to the ATM needs to verify. I'm only allowed $500 a day. So I have to pull rent two separate days. Not a friendly atmosphere at all. Really feels like this credit union doesn't care about are area at all. No BECU ATMs to be found anywhere but on the building. This is not a credit union that offers loans.(well they do but your not getting one unless u go to Seattle and talk with decent humans) the staff here has something shoved waaaaay up there. Dropping this bank for an actual credit union that cares.GO TO KITSAP CREDIT UNION!!!!!

I had the best experience with William R. He was extremely polite, patient and kind with the billion questions I asked. I lack much knowledge in the world of banking/finances. William explained it all so well and even provided me with visuals so I could understand.I typically seek services with the BECU in the Seattle area. For the last couple of months they weren’t able to give me much info in regards to my Roth IRA. But William was the first person to give some further information. He’s definitely someone I’ll keep in touch with in regards to my BECU needs.

Unfortunately they do not offer any actual customer service via phone. I found a wallet and have been trying to connect to the branch so they can get a hold of their customer. I would never bank with a bank with no customer service.

STOP! Read this before deciding to utilize BECU for your banking needs. I have been a member of BECU for several years, and it has been the worst banking/.credit union experience I have ever had. They are rude, uppity people who care more about process than they will ever care about customers. The odds of you getting a loan, or line of credit with them are nearly impossible unless you have stellar credit and lots of money in your account. This is not the Credit Union experience you want, they are no different than a bank like Wells Fargo. They will charge your account 25.00 for 1.00 overdraft, they will roll their eyes at you when you ask them to do something they do not want to do. Their online experience is good, but nothing else about this Credit Union is a "good" experience. Take your hard-earned money elsewhere, I recommend WSECU, where I also have an account, even a bank if you must, but steer clear of BECU.

BECU continues to be what they profess, and in this case, thanks to Megan B. in Silverdale. As a previous personal and business client of Bank of America for over 20 years, I've learned to expect varying degrees of complications, hurdles or--at times--mismanagement of my financial account(s) requiring in-person meetings. So when I needed to make a clerical change to my account requiring an office visit, I had some anxieties. But Megan B greeted me immediately, was pleasant and engaging without being disingenuous, and made my administrative changes quick and easy. Thanks again!

Staff is cordial and the wait time for my appointment was only a few minutes. Amy T. was very professional and had me all squared away in no time. I use the ATM here often and the lobby is always clean. I feel safe walking in after dark. Looking forward to the day BECU opens a branch in Port Orchard!

I originally opened an account here as a secondary to only use for bills while continuing to use Navy Federal as my main account. I went in today just to pick up my new debit card and Loren was extremely kind, helpful, and professional. I was so impressed with this branch today that I decided to transfer all my money to my new BECU account instead.
