I feel so sorry for the Bartell family. This was once a great store. I just had a very bad experience with a person at their pharmacy. They are printing labels with ink that smears so bad you cannot even read the label. I also got one that was completely blank or dim. When I made a suggestion of putting a piece of clear shipping tape over the labels so they wouldn't smear. the "woman" on the other line started going "Hmmmmnn" in a condescending way. I am going to transfer my prescriptions ASAP. It's important to be able to read your labels and for an employee to have that kind of attitude with a customer is unforgivable. The pharmacy window also was closed many times, not just for lunch breaks.

If I could leave ZERO stars I would! After many years of being a loyal bartel pharmacy customers. This place has just fallen off. I know they got bought out and changes had to happen, but they lost all their genuine pharmacy people. Now all you get is the larger lazy lady who dispatches orders from her chair and the disrespectful tech, Ahkmed, who will lazily tell you you're wasting his time to fill prescriptions. GO ANYWHERE, BUT SHORELINE BARTEL PHARMACY!

I wanted to take a passport photo. They told me to wait, and after 15 min told me they are understaffed and cannot help me today. Could have done me a favor and told me sooner.

Update to my last posting where I was treated poorly. First after calling the customer service number provided and this posting, I still never heard from Bartells regarding the treatment I received but, today my doctor's office called to check on a prescription that was sent in to Bartells and they were told that I was swearing and yelling and told them I did not want my medication. I did not swear or yell. I attempted to deescalate the situation. I don't swear or yell and for the record I don't drink, smoke, or do drug either. The same male pharmacist that would not give his name and told me "that he does not have to and Bartells does not require him to wear a name tag" along "all of you are all the same you don't get what you want and you get mad" documented falsely into my record to cover his butt and now anyone that goes into my file can see it and assume I am a difficult customer. Very unprofessional. I know how hard their job is and would have never acted as he documented.

My experience tonight with the pharmacy was horrific and I wish my experience on no one. I'm a nurse and have been for many, many years. I went to pick up a prescription that I was texted saying it was ready as I did on Monday when I texted. When I went in the prescription was not ready. The prescription was for a 3-month supply of my medication and the person at the window tried to give me one month supply telling me it's a 3 month supply. Taking the one month supply would cost me three times as much as my co-pay is the same whether I pick up 3 month supply or one month supply. I explained to the person that that was not a three month supply that it was a one month supply and she clearly stated no, that's a 3 month supply which she was wrong. I asked to speak to a pharmacist. When the pharmacist came over he already made up his mind and how he was going to communicate with me and basically belittled me, argued with me, and was very confrontational. I tried to calm him down by saying I'm not asking for it today. I'm willing to come back for it but he did not want to listen. I said, could you please listen and he stated you guys are all the same. You don't get what you want and all you want to do is complain. Well you're going to get nothing. I asked for his name and he refused to give me his name saying that Bartells does not require him to give me his name. Once again I tried to reason with him. I said I'm not trying to argue or complain and I'm more than willing to come back once the medications in stock for me to pick up my 3 months supply at once. Again he told me you'll never get the medication. I can only give you what I can give you. I explained to him that the prescription is written to be dispensed as a 3 months supply as my blood work is measured in 3 months increments and my medication is adjusted based on my lab results. Again he told me I would not get my medication and that were all the like. All we do is complain. I contacted the customer service online support as soon as I left the store as I found his behavior and how he deals with customers and patients. Unacceptable. To give you a little more background, I'm a registered nurse and I work in Endocrinology and the medication I was asking for was an endocrine medication. Whether the medication is on backorder or not, I was willing to wait until my full 3 months supply was available so I could consistently take the medications to determine if that's the right dose. I hope Bartell's does a better job as I plan on telling every patient I have and every person I know not to utilize Bartell's pharmacy or any other subsidiaries for their prescriptions or any needs.

Riteaid shoud change the name of Bartell's to Riteaid because really the stores resemble Riteaid more than Bartells. I used to find interesting Washington products at Bartell's but not so much anymore. Store had long lines and some empty shelves.

Worst store I have ever been too. An employee named Eric was so rude and disrespectful. I was shopping was in there for 13minutes he came and took my basket from me and said I have to check out bow or leave and I asked do you have a calender and he said no you don't have any money so leave before you embarrass yourself more. So no way was I going to buy anything from him I went back In and asked for his name and the checker said Eric and I said do you have corporate phone number and she said no and went to helping a customer I video taped it all I will never shop there again

I have shopped at the Bartell Drugs on Aurora Avenue North in Shoreline, across from Fred Meyer, for over a decade now. When I was attending Shorewood High School and competing on sports teams as part of the high school, it was a good place to come to see if they had a sale on candy/snacks and arts and crafts items for making signs for teammates/team spirit. Aside from high school-related shopping habits, my family and I have used this location for miscellaneous items such as travel-size hygiene products, such as shampoo and conditioner. Seasonal items and cards can also be useful for special occasions. Deals can be found on days/weekends with special sales. The building is easy to spot from Aurora Avenue North, North 185th Street, and Midvale Avenue North. It has its own parking areas, though if those are full, there is a larger shared parking area for businesses in the same center. Inside the store entrance is a welcome sign and small carts available for use while shopping. Today, Monday 4 September 2023, I came to look over offerings and see if I could find a good Labor Day sale on some items. What caught my eye was a 3 for $3.33 sale on some of the candy items. The sale applied to the candy items in such a way I could mix and match what I wanted to count towards the sale. Meaning I was free to choose from a variety of options instead of being forced to get three of the exact same thing. I went partway on that, getting three different Reese's items. The cashier was friendly when I went to check out and my payment method of cash with exact change was warmly accepted.

Ever had to wait over 45 minutes for a pharmacy to ring up a prescription that they already filled for you? Here I was visiting this Bartell Pharmacy for the first time thinking that the 1-star reviews were out of left field. The initial prescription transfer went fine and whoever was on the phone was courteous, but she told me to give them my insurance info in person. Little did I know that quick statement she made about insurance would waste about 45 minutes of my life later today. Apparently Lauren (one of the pharmacists) and even one of his 2 co-workers have never processed Premera Blue Cross WA insurance cards before, because they kept asking me for a number (PCN) that I've never heard of until today and acted as if my insurance card wouldn't work without it. Strange that my last 2 pharmacies had no such problem. Lauren tells me it will take 10 minutes to process my insurance. Again, never had to wait over 5 minutes for a pharmacy to add insurance info and process an Rx refill with it. I'm a patient person, and I worked in customer service for 10 years, so I give them the benefit of the doubt, and I spend time grabbing groceries at Fred Meyer next door. By the time I get back, it's been about 30 minutes since I first attempted to pickup my prescriptions. I wait in line a second time to be asked (yet again) for a PCN and told that if my card doesn't list it then my insurance won't work. I show them my card AGAIN and they realize that Lauren switched the numbers and missed one as well. Apparently Premera doesn't use the term PCN on their cards; so glad we all got to learn this wonderful lesson together today. They tell me that it will now take another 10 minutes to process. I sit and wait for 10 more minutes. When I get up and wait in line a 3rd time I'm told it's still not done "processing", and I get told matter-of-factly (by the person I believe to be the manager) "It's not done processing yet Ma'am. We're very backed up today. We're doing the best we can." I immediately respond with "But you're not going to apologize?", because I can't remember how many customers I've said "I'm sorry for the wait/inconvenience" to over the last decade when shit wasn't my fault. She says nothing. When I'm finally getting prescriptions rung up, I mention again that I would like an apology. She says that she "already apologized", so add gaslighting to the mix. You gave an excuse not an apology, and none of you are qualified to work in people-facing positions based on how my first interaction with you went. BTW, I've been getting my refills after standard work hours on weekdays for years, and this is the longest I've ever had to wait for an already filled prescription to be processed.

Tony is very helpful and knowledgeable. I placed a few online pick up orders, among the three Bartell locations I went to, he’s the only person knows how to fulfill orders.

Go to a different pharmacy.I've been going here for like 10+ years but after the new takeover a few years? ago, the pharmacy has been AWFUL.I've already complained to corporate about how rude the staff was. Literally demeaning. But recently this is the last straw for me.I had a prescription I will go through withdrawals without. It really sucks, I hate being on it. Anyways the pharm is out of stock which isn't their fault. I asked them to see which pharms might have it. They must have not even looked? Because they told me no one did.I was pretty distraught and called my Dr and other pharms. Turns out ...the next bartells closest to me had it... Really frustrating! The other bartells were so nice and accommodating. Also rite aid was the one who even found it for me.I will never go back to this bartells pharmacy. I'm tired of being treated the way they treat me. I'm tired of them giving me the run-around. The people working here do not belong in an industry that helps other people.

!!!***BEREATED, THREATENED, AND ASSAULTED BY BARTELL'S CLERKS!!! I have been a long time customer of Bartell's as long as I can remember. Bartell's has wonderful sale items, cute gift ideas, and very pleasant staff. Bartell's has always been our go-to drug store. UNTIL NOW. As of now, I will never set foot in any Bartell's store ever again. My family, our friends, and our colleagues are doing our best to make make sure no one else ever shops there either. Why? I went there on a Sunday evening to buy some fresh make-up. Their prices are better than any department store; I had learned if you don't like the product, you can return it for a full refund. Sounds like a win-win doesn't it? A few minutes after I began shopping, they announced that closing time was 9:00pm. I wasn't sure what to buy so I put a number of things in my cart and kept shopping. I am an average-looking, middle-aged mom and look the part. I am ALWAYS kind to whoever is helping me after years in the service industry. I am generally low-key and non-confrontational (introvert/PTSD, hence the shopping at night) This erroneous information is added because it's not clear where or why things went awry. What happened next was a complete surprise. At 7:45, they again announced that the store closes at 9:00pm, to please line up to check out by 8:30. I thought this was a little rushed but obediently began organizing my items for check out. At this point I've had almost no communication with any clerks in the store. I didn't notice when the clerk, named Eric G., approached while I was going through my purchase items. I was getting ready for check-out when he began shouting. Not talking, not courteous, but 3 feet from me, yelling at me. "You are taking too long to shop!! You need to go check out now! You can't put anything back because that will just take more of our time. Go buy your items now! You need to buy items right now!! You can return what you don't want tomorrow! If you don't get in line right now I'm going to call the police and have you trespassed from the store!! You are taking too long! You go buy those things at the register right now!" At the same time his colleague came up behind me and he begin insulting me. "Why are you taking so long to shop? What is wrong with you? Are you on drugs? Are you homeless? Why would you want to buy so much make-up?" I tried to explain how I was putting items back I didn't want but Eric kept alternatively, talking over me, and then yelling. Eric kept shouting. He would not stop. I felt scared with him yelling at me and the other clerk behind me. I tried to explain that I was almost done and was hurrying as best I could but he screeched, "Your time is up!" and PHYSICALLY TORE THE CART OUT OF MY HANDS. He then rushed with the cart to the cash registers. Then he loudly said, "You have to buy these items right now! Whatever you don't want you can return tomorrow for a refund!" as he began ringing up my items. At this time it was no where near the 9pm closing time they kept announcing. It was 8:20. I was shocked, and dumbfounded. I couldn't figure out what I had done to warrant being yelled at and threatened. I fearfully watched Eric ring up my items and said nothing more because I didn't want to get yelled at, insulted, or assaulted again. And I was afraid. I have never been afraid of any clerk, in any store, in my life. I needed to get out of there before they did anything else. It was kind of scary. And because Eric wouldn't let me put anything back, I spent nearly $400. Almost half of what I purchased I did not want. The next day, I went to a different Baretell's to return all of the items I didn't want. I had the receipt, but they still were unable to give me a refund. I needed that money for other bills. Instead of a cash refund as promised, I got Bartell's gift card. So I had to go to Bartell's a third time in order to use it. I'm very sad. I contacted Bar

Great place to take passport photos (especially if you have difficult kids and toddlers!) Eric was wonderful with our 4 year old son
