After shopping exclusively at Metropolitan Market and PCC for years, it was a nice change coming here. The store's interior looks a bit dated but they have some exclusive items that are better than anywhere else. Their store made deli items and Greek dips are better than anywhere else, their beer and wine section has good variety but also a well curated selection of famous wines from local and international wineries. The price is definitely on the high end but for the few items that I can't find anywhere else, I'll continue coming back.

Great store with selection and prices similar to QFC or Safeway. What really sets this store apart (and the reason I will drive 10 extra minutes out of my way for it) is that there are no self-checkouts. When you come to Thriftway, you will get your groceries checked and bagged by an actual person, who in my experience, has always been helpful and friendly. I hate self-check out for so many reasons and at this point, it is pretty much unavoidable at most other stores. Not so at Thriftway. Also they have that yummy, locally made garlic sauce that makes everything so yummy. Go to Thriftway. Buy the garlic sauce. Have it and your other groceries checked out and bagged by a real person. Total win.

This place has such a great selection of groceries, especially the bakery, produce and beer/ wine. Wine. I just wish they carried duck eggs like the one in West Seattle!

Great wine & beer section. Employees are are all super nice. Good options in deli. Almost everything is like 20-50% more expensive here than it should be though.

Used to have the best meat options around. It has declined somewhat in the past 6 months. The staff is friendly. Produce section full and fresh. Good selection of almost everything.

Google's definition of thrift is: the quality of using money and other resources carefully and not wastefully.Miriam Webster says it's: careful management especially of moneyThese two definitions taken as written, would make 'Thriftway' the most inappropriately named store in modern history. As I walked through the store, just browsing to see if there was anything I wanted to buy, I quickly found the prices on items to be FAR higher than anywhere I normally shop. At first I thought it was just the deli was a little steep (that happens, right?), but as I continued to browse, it became apparent that this was not the case.In every department I shopped, the prices were consistently 30-50% higher than even Safeway. And a few products that I had recently shopped elsewhere were almost TWICE the price. Now, I'm not talking about special, in-store exclusives. I'm talking the EXACT SAME products in other stores, just MUCH more expensive. So if you're wealthy, and don't care about 'thrift' (spending money wisely), then Thriftway is DEFINITELY your kind of store. But if saving money is something you want to do, drive the extra distance to a different store. Even the QFC in Mountlake Terrace is cheaper...

It's great to support a locally owned grocery store. Their wine selection is excellent, and they frequently have great wine sales and discounts.

This is a pretty nice little neighborhood market and it's super convenient to pop in when I need something quick. My mother loves their senior discount Tuesdays. They have a decent selection of everything you need, but the star of the store is their produce and meat. You can get great quality meat for very nice low prices. I got .75 pounds of ground beef for 4.81 the other day which was amazing.Prices on other things can be steep however. Almost 9 dollars for a loaf of banana bread from the bakery which is very steep in my opinion. A gallon of whole milk for almost 4 dollars when I get it almost 80 cents cheaper at Safeway. So while some things are great, other more local items tend to be more expensive. The store is always well kept and the employees are generally nice. So overall a decent place to get groceries.

Awesome grocer that has everything you need and a lot of local options. Almost everything they make in house is amazing. Huge plus - nothing but old school bangers on the speakers... best grocery store music you've ever heard.

First time here. I typically shop at PCC in Bothell. Stopped by to see what they had inside. Prices are definitely higher than PCC. They did have a very good selection of Indian cuisine and flours my client was looking for. We did not taste the food. The service was good no complaints. We had our own bags. The floral area was beautiful- prices were a little high for the presentation of the plants and flowers, pretty though. We did find a few bargains on water and storage containers. They did have the flour we needed to make Pudi, Roti ans Bryani this afternoon. We recommend this store when in the area. It was not very busy either.

This place is more expensive than PCC, and there's nothing special about the products. The clerks and baggers are always nice though.

Thriftway is great! You can get a surprising number of specialty items, a lot of great local produce, and all the staff is friendly and helpful.

Great grocery store close to home with excellent service and quick checkout. I've seen some of the same employees in this store for years. That tells me this store is managed well. There prices may be higher, but that is okay with me given the proximity to my home and that they seem to be treating their employees right.
