I was looking for bangers for an Irish stew and was not experiencing the luck of the Irish when I came across Home Meat Service. Very friendly and helpful on the phone and when I arrived to look for my unusual request I was quickly helped and given a little something extra in honor of my first visit.Meat lovers paradise.

I've been living here since 1970 and have never stopped by. Finally I visit the market and was blown away, customer service was awesome and for a small place they had a great variety. Prices were good too. Bought a couple steaks and smoked cheese. I will be back for sure, this place was great and the people were too. Just the way you'd expect a small town family business to be!

I ordered a 1/4 cow for the first time ever from Bent Gate Farms in Sequim (AMAZING). I'm all about learning new things so when I picked up my beef I bombarded the very friendly lady with all sorts of questions trying to understand how the process worked. She was more than happy to answer my questions and help me out. I'm glad Bent Gate Farms uses HMS because my experience was nothing but positive.

Id personally give this place a 5 for their products and meat. Definitely a top tier option for the Olympia Shelton area, HOWEVER, I've been going to this place for 4 years now and there is some lady that Is a complete A-hole over the phone.( Sounds like a 30-40 year old) Still haven't found who it is in person but I will not be taking my wild game or coming here after being a loyal customer any longer if I have a showdown on the phone with her again. My poor elderly dad got a deer this season and I explained what to ask them and what to say, and this woman (assuming it's the same woman I've dealt with in the past) was a complete jerk to my dad. We still brought our deer to be processed here but someone's going to have to sit the rude woman down or they will be losing a couple loyal customers. SIDENOTE- everyone else has been a pleasure to talk to and pretty friendly.

First time at HMS. It's a little out of the way but well worth the tripThe service was excellent and products are amazing. Pork sausage is the best we have had in years, ground beef the same. Ham was great, as is the pepperoni. Haven't tried the rest of the stuff we bought but it looks like it will not disappoint.

Would not use them to process wild game. I took an elk there to get processed. I carefully deboned the animal and brought in 200 pounds of meat. I clearly said "Stake out everything you can and burger the rest." They turned a whole elk with all that beautiful meat into hamburger. I don't know who in their right mind would hamburger all that steak? My family was devastated. For my trouble they took 150 dollars off a 400 bill. Will not use again.

Absolutely amazing when I couldn't find anybody to get me a raw uncured,unsmoked ham so I could absolutely smoke it and cure it myself they came through it was well worth the drive from Tacoma and again the service was next to none.

This review is for their retail sales, not the butchering of any domestic meats or game.We were told by a neighbor that they had fantastic clam chowder, by the bowl, for sale. This was something I was hankering when I was visiting family in the area.Upon arrival, which was located down a semi-rural road (not on or off the main highway) we entered to find they had a nice looking meat counter and miscellaneous meat and some non-meat items for sale. We purchased their clam chowder (only served on Fridays we were told), some Olympic Mountain ice cream and a pack of their in-house made jalapeno pepperoni sticks. The service was friendly and efficient.The clam chowder was as good as the neighbor claimed. Olympic Mountain ice cram is always good. And the jalapeno pepperoni sticks were delicious as well. I look forward to returning to Home Meat Service on my next visit and selecting a couple of steaks the next go around.

This is a hidden gem! I will definitely be shopping there again. Smoked cheeses are amazing and the jerky was perfect. And the soup ... some of the best I have ever had!
