My doctor, Dr Roberts is a fantastic position and did a wonderful job for the second time fixing my right thumb. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate everything she did for me. She'll recovering but my thumb feels 100% better already. Thank you Dr Robert and Virginia Mason for saving me around my pain

My experience at Virginia Mason Emergency Department was horrible. It started out wonderful, the front desk staff was polite and answered any and all questions I had just like any other ED. It seemed that everything changed after I was sent back to see the doctor on shift. She asked me a few questions and then she walked away saying she would give me some X-ray’s and I attempted to explain to her that it was important for them to do an MRI because I just had X-rays. Instead of listening at all she had me stand up so she could feel all over my back, then sent me with an individual that had me go into a bathroom and change my pants into their pajamas and then go to a room shortly for the X-ray and then ?I was taken with clothes in my hands out to the lobby and told to sit in their pajamas and wait for the doctor to come back and take with me. This NEVER happened instead some guy I had never seen comes out an hour later and gives me my discharge paperwork. I Asked about discharging before I even see the doctor and he supposedly said “you haven’t seen the doctor yet” then walked away. He returned and handed me the paperwork said follow up with your primary care physician and oh yeah you can change right there in that bathroom. Ridiculous customer service. I was in severe pain and still am. Virginia Mason ED will never get my business ever again or my family or friends I will not encourage anyone to go there. Ever!

I received excellent care from everyone really. My only complaint is that my spinal block apparently wore off too soon as I rememberr coming to and feeling intense pain. It lasted for a few seconds until someone must have noticed and upped putting me back to sleep. It caused me some anxiety after the spinal block went into effect originally I wanted so badly to push down with both legs since I couldn't do so I felt panicky. I tried to let whoever was by my head know how anxious I was feeling and very quickly they put me to sleep. Over all I think Virginia Mason is an excellent hospital with caring people. I just am not a fan of the type of anesthesia used. I should not have felt any pain at all. I also wish the hotels had hospital beds to enable people to more easily get in and out of bed. I had a hard time doing that after being released from the hospital. If not a hospital bed some type of stepping stool would have been helpful. I could have done better with less pain if the bed could have been adjusted. I have lost muscle strength due to my hip being bad for more than a year now so lifting my right leg at first was very hard and it hurt.

I was in room 1075. The toilet in the room has the seat too close to the water. My privates kept contacting the water. I finally got a commode so I was raised about 4 inches higher and things became acceptable.
The personal were great, friendly, helpful , and efficient.

Nothing short of excellent.
Though, situated as it is amongst several buildings, it is easy to get lost. They are goid at directing you to the proper location. However, locally, even though they have a parking lot or two, parking is a major issue (it is in an urban environment).
Facilities are a bit limiting, but the staff, support, licensed and professional are all top notch and extremely accomodating.

Clearly competent, unfriendly physician surgeon , I will take that any day , I want a good Dr , not a friendly one so I am happy with her, as I am recovering well ,thats what counts..
Very nice nurses ,who however , missed my veins needing 5 tries and only successfully doing a venal puncture after taking my advice . I have never had this happen but some how ,during sedation ,I bit my lower lip which is finally healing .
I was painful and swollen , after I awoke , the nurse got me ice for it.
I am recovering from the procedure and back to normal today day 6 .

Your medical aides are more interested in sleeping than doing their jobs. I actually had a nurse ask me to put my mom on the commode because she was to busy and the aide wasn’t available. When I said no she got very upset and I didn’t see her again. I was told later she was asked to finish her shift on a different floor. I asked several times for my mom to have a shower, this was after 8 days in VM. I was told by the floor supervising nurse, “ we don’t have enough people to get your mom a shower.” If I could’ve put 0 on your survey I would have!

This hospital cares about all their patients. I felt comfortable, protected and pain free during my stay.
