Wonderful local gym with all amenities. Only thing I may have liked was a rowing machine. I am new to gyms and got a trainer from the gym (Tybald) who I had six sessions with and was excellent and taught me the basics of strength training. Not intimidating at all, people of all ages and levels. A great and welcome experience.

Small private gym, very clean! There's towels and disinfectant bottles all over the gym. The gym also provides towels for members to use. It doesn't have a sauna or showers because it's a neighborhood gym, most people live in the area. I liked that this gym was never crowded, pretty quiet, everybody's in their zone. You can find almost (!) all gym equipment here except for the calf raise machine, leg extension, or hack squat. There's only one stairmaster When I do cardio on the stairmaster, I usually do so for about 25-30 minutes so this could be an issue if more than one person wants to use it. I do like that there are two squat racks with a platform for deadlifts. There are not enough 45lb plates however. There are only (4) 45lb plates for the leg press (2 for each side max). I had to take the two plates from the bench press and two more from one of the squat racks. This could be an issue as well if there is someone using the bench and squat rack at the same time. You wouldn't be able to do more on the leg press. So that brings me to who this gym might be a good fit for? This gym is good if you're just looking to stay healthy and want to tone at the gym. This gym might not be a good fit if you're wanting to lift heavier. Individual monthly membership is $70 - is it worth the price? Eh, I guess so. It's convenient.

Best gym in south Seattle. The facilities are well-maintained and management is very attentive. If you're looking for an unpretentious and community-minded gym, this is it.

I love this gym. Its clean, lots of windows, great equipment, never crowded and has free parking. No extra fees or gimmicks. I have had to pause/ cancel a few times over the last few years since I get out if the habit of going to a gym and they respond same day to my email. When i start up again they reactive my code asap.

I've had an amazing experience at Urban Playground! It's a hidden gem that offers a quiet, intimate workout environment without the crowds. The gym is always impeccably clean and offers a wide range of equipments for a cardio session to free weights and squat racks, always in top condition. I especially appreciate the team's fast response to inquiries and the easy sign-up process. The self-service aspect with secure access is convenient, and the atmosphere is always focused and friendly. It's a fantastic spot for anyone who values a peaceful gym with all the essentials plus a personal touch. Highly recommended!

It's never too crowded here, which is nice. There are no showers, but big bathrooms to change in if needed. There are a few machines, so if you rely heavily on that, it's best to get more familiar with free weights. The fellow members seem to be in the zone, focused on their goals. I seldom see chit-chat, which makes me feel more focused on my goals as well. Everyone seems very friendly, though.Sign up is easy, and if you have questions, the owner is VERY FAST at responding, which is another huge plus. It's a great spot.

By far one of the best gyms that I have been a part of. UP has a fun, private and secure environment for those just getting started on their quest for fitness or for those that want to continue a fitness program.UP is a great neighborhood gym.I highly recommend UP for anyone around the Beacon Hill area.M.A.R

Love this gym. Payments are straightforward no extra fees or commitments. Owner is great, super friendly and really makes you feel like part of the community. I have absolutely no complaints about the gym itself. It does get busy sometimes right after work since it's not a large place and so I just try to go during off peak times. Also, like everywhere else-- people need to shower before they go to the gym.

A gem in Beacon Hill. Small, quiet gym that's especially convenient for proximity and parking. The owner takes a special interest in getting to know members and makes sure equipment is in fantastic working order. The space is spotlessly clean.Plenty of treadmills, ellipticals and cardio equipment with HR monitors built in. Three squat racks, three benches with dumbbells up to 70 pounds. Two cable pulley machines and plenty of others as well. Bands, TRX, floor accessories -- almost everything you could want and more. I do wish there was a leg extension machine! ;-)

Urban Playground is a great, clean gym in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. There are towels & lockers available, plenty of free street parking, and pretty much all of the equipment you would need for a solid workout. It's rarely packed/too busy and other members are friendly & considerate. Would definitely recommend joining this gym if you're looking for one in the area.
