My time at my apartment has been spectacular. The community is warm, I get to have my dream apartment and we get taken cared of by Julian our property manager.Huge shout out to Julian who has taken care of the residents. He goes above and beyond in his job and we are incredibly lucky to have a property manager that truly cares for his residents.

We lived at The Gilbert for 4 years and loved every minute of our time there! The building is well maintained, and the units are spacious with hardwood floors and large closets, which is hard to find with many newer apartment buildings. The kitchen appliances and W/D were all updated and there is plenty of natural light. Building management is great – Amir is so helpful and always responds quickly whether you have a question or can’t find a package delivery. He is also super proactive when there is anything going on that will impact the whole building and goes above and beyond for residents. The maintenance team is great too, they respond to requests quickly and efficiently.

For the past two weeks, I worked closely with Amir on viewing, selecting and applying for an apartment with the Bona vista management. It was a pleasure to work with Amir, he is very patient and attentive. It was stress free and easy!

I was physically unable to apply here. After calling and speaking to (presumably) Amir about some basic things about an apartment I started an application. However it's been a couple of weeks since then and every of my few dozen attempts at contacting Gilbert House or their management company Bonavista Real Estate Management through phone, voicemail, and email have been unsuccessful. It's like they fell off the face of the Earth.

We have been trying to get into contact with the property manager and the management company for the past week. We have paid out application fees yet we have heard nothing regarding our application. Every phone call, email and text have gone unanswered. There isn't even a way to pull our application. We're extremely frustrated and annoyed with the lack of communication and overall uselessness to get anything done. How are we supposed to feel if we do move in and no one will even answer our calls?

The Gilbert is a beautiful building I loved my apartment! Very nice hardwood floors, W/D and D/W in the apt. Great kitchen with lots of counter space and deep cabinets. Building is really well maintained and Amir the Manager is wonderful. Very responsive and helpful. I would rent there again.

I have lived in The Gilbert House for just over a year now, and have nothing but high praise for the new manager, Amir, and new mgmt. company, Bonavista Mgmt. I was staying in a "Zeus" apartment (similar to Air BnB) in the building and I was brand new to Seattle. I liked it so much, I decided to rent in the building. After I signed the lease, the management company changed. In NYC, that is the kiss of death: higher rent, and fees. Here, new management resulted in nothing but excellent improvements. The trash and recycling areas are now pristine when they had been overflowing and awful. We have a brand new ButterflyMX: Apartment Video Intercom System-which allows the tenants to view who is at the front door of the building, and give them access using smartphones. I'm disabled, and Amir personally brings me my large packages. Who does that? The common areas are now kept very clean. There is a fellow cleaning and vacuuming once a week. Maintenance is handled very quickly, and Amir is always available. Mgmt. is professional, communicating very well when there will be a fire drill or testing of alarm systems. The neighborhood? It's whimsical, beautiful Upper Queen Anne. This Ave has everything you could want and more. I'm a pretty princessy New Yorker; at times difficult to please. The neighbors are very cordial; the building is pet-friendly.W/D, micro, and d/w in the unit. The Gilbert House, Amir and Bonavista Mgmt. have made this an excellent building in which to live.

I rented a one-bedroom apartment at the Gilbert for nearly 3 years, and the experience was very good. I really love this building; it has lots of character and it is by far my favorite building that I have ever lived in on Queen Anne. The location is great, so much is walkable in this location, and the building in general has a good vibe. The common areas are clean and very well maintained, it is quiet, and apparently the building is well insulated. I rarely ever had to turn the heat on in my unit, even in the cold winter months. The community is nice, people are friendly with lots of cute dogs, and there was only one repair needed in the entire 3 years that I lived there that was handled promptly. I appreciated the fact that the new management required masks be worn after the pandemic started. If there was ever an emergency, i.e. the pet sitter got locked out, it was easy to reach the property manager. I do think the security of the building improved a lot when the new management took over, it is a very safe place to live, including a well secured garage where no problems ever happened to my car. I also appreciate the large parking spots, which is rare to find these days. Loved the community patio also, a great place to tan in the summer with lounge chairs provided, lots of seating, barbecues, etc. I also got a good portion of my deposit back, and was very happy about that.

I highly recommend the Gilbert Apartments! I rented for one year and was very satisfied with my experience. The staff was always communicated well, and myMaintenance requests were always handled immediately. The public spaces were well maintained and issues were communicated to residents in a timely manner. I was on the third floor and never heard noise from my neighbors. The parking garage was safe and clean as well. The neighborhood is also awesome, with a number of amenities within walking distance.

We love the neighborhood but this building has an incredible issue with security. Mail is stolen regularly and people often break into the garage. The garage door remains up during the day, and someone has used wire cutters to create a hole in the garage door to open from the inside. Though we've expressed concerns to the office, no actions have been taken to create a safer environment.

The place is fine to live in. We were there for about 3 years and it's good. However, good luck getting out of your lease. They will not reply to your emails or phone calls when it doesn't play in their advantage, they will try and charge you for everything the can (I had to fight to get my deposit back - had to ask for receipts for charges and the charge disappeared). They also have very poorly written leases. I was going to go to court but did not have time: they got ~$2500 out of me, that I deem not due. So, understand that they will go after all the charges that they state in their lease!Good luck :)
