Edit: added photo of the garbage not getting resolved, pool is still broken and they stopped landscaping the grounds so every plant and tree is dead.
The state of the apartment in the last five years has gone to well managed to zero maintenance . They no longer maintain the garbage and allow it to overflow in the alley area .. rats and mice all through the grounds rodent problem has been ongoing for months. The pool has been out of order for over a year with estimate time to reopen .Management has done nothing to resolve any problems when we have flagged the state of the common areas and the grounds . Avoid this Essex property if you can .

Two years ago, after traveling across country from Key West, Florida, The Audrey was our introduction to Seattle. We loved living here with its tremendous maintenance staff and location, and the view from our living room. We travelled a lot, months at a time and trusted Juan Leal, Maintenance, to come in at any time without us here. When something needed repair, he was quick to fix and did with a smile. He became a friend.
One reason we selected The Audrey was for the indoor pool. Because it has been closed for six months, we decided to move on as swimming is very important to us as our primary fitness regimen. We will miss The Audrey and its team but have great memories. Susan and Mo

Been living here past 2 years. All I can say is the quality of resident services is getting worse. Management hardly cares about your service/maintenance requests. There was a mice infestation in my unit twice despite always having windows and doors closed and management never provided a permanent solution to it. They just brushed it off saying it’s common issue. They don’t even bother to resolve your issues, the premises of the apartment aren’t well maintained, there’s lot of squeaky noises from neighboring units. I’d consider other options to moving here. The only pro is the view of the Olympic mountains. But that ain’t worth suffering through all the other issues in this building.

They have a disgusting lack of customer service. Locked out of garage for a WHOLE WEEK before they could get someone onsite to help me.
Edit: they wanted me to update my review so here you go: I wish I could rate lower. The problem was resolved with little professionalism besides from the onsite manager who apologized on behalf of your management team. I find your response snide and without substance. No accountability for the lack of responsibility taken. YOU provide a service through Where I Park, not me.

EDIT: The response says 'thank you again' and 'addressed the situation together'. I'm one of the parties, and i was never reached out. There was no communication with me, so not sure why they are saying 'again'. Its quite misleading. The issue i mention here has not been resolve afaik.I have lived in a different Essex Property for 5 years, Fountain Court, just a few blocks from here. All of the 5 years I enjoyed my stay, with an amazing community and staff. Sam, Emmons and the entire staff there was amazing. And that is why I am appalled at what my experience has been with an Audrey employee.I now own a place next to Audrey, and I always looked at Audrey as “my fam”. I had a carpet replacement appt, so I asked my building manager where can they park their vehicle. Since it was busy that day, the only spot available was in front of Audrey garage door (still leaving enough space for cars to come in and out, although tight). The Installer guy, Jose, asked them if this will block the gate, and they said, it seems like enough space for them to get out, so its okay for an hour, then we ll move. As we parked and started to come in, we heard loud yelling “hey! hey!”, we turned around and this guy (tall, white, on the heavier side), came out and started screaming “you can’t park here”. Welp, so we turned around and Jose said to me, “looks like we have to move”, and I agreed. And this guy WOULD NOT stop yelling! He barely looked at me, and started screaming at Jose and his partner so aggressive, that I was worried he was about to get physical. I tried to calm the situation down, and told him, don’t yell at him, he asked the management. But before I could finish, he continued yelling “I really doubt that, you guys are lying!”, and then his wife (short, white) also joined in the screaming. Jose was visibly disturbed. He put all his stuff in the vehicle, and was sitting in drivers seat in shock. The screaming was so loud that Jose decided to cancel the installation, and started discussing it with his boss. With this inhuman treatment, understandably, he was not going to take orders to move like a slave from some guy screaming. I got busy convincing him not to cancel the installation, we ll park on the street, take a coffee break, and continue and forget about this guy. All the while this Audrey employee continuing to scream, still unprovoked, while his kids were around, “I work here! And I am not gonna let this happen!”. My building manager came and talked with him, and he screamed at them too and they went inside. As I was talking with Jose to convince him to do the installation, a resident of Audrey came in the car. I calmed Jose down, from this crazy interaction, which took a moment, and we moved.I am particularly shocked by Audrey management that they have employed someone so aggressive and antagonizer, who instead of solving problem, is more interested in repeatedly flexing that “he works there” and using that as a muscle to scream at workers who are there just to do their job and stand being vulnerable coz they don’t know the community and rules well. In fact it was Jose who asked if the garage will be blocked, so meth-head like screaming and yelling towards him was completely uncalled for. Based on this interaction, and looking at how drunk on power he is with “I work here”, I would not be surprised that this Audrey Employee has not had similar interactions within the Audrey community. This uncivilized conduct is not welcome in this neighborhood, and if you are planning on renting a place in Audrey, you should definitely think of this. Maybe Essex does not have budget to do background checks anymore. The alley, the sidewalks etc are shared spaces, and issues, misunderstandings are going to happen. No-one is doing it on purpose. A civilized conversation, discussion solves everything. A violent, power-trippy, aggressive conduct, without even understanding what the situation is, or having the capacity to listen is uncalled for and unsuitable for an Essex employee, and not welcome in this beautif

I lived in the community for two years. The Positve... the location is close to the Pier and ParkCons1) Car break ins, if not you will have to deal with your car being scratched or dinged.Up your uninsured motorist insurance.2) Parking garage fob broken.I was locked out one evening.Enjoy dinner in your car.3) Mailboxes broken into..Yes,entire panels separated from the wall.We were told to buy mailboxes at the nearby post office during the long repair wait4) Stolen packages, boxes are left in the foyer for visitors to rifal through. At one point a renter took all the packages to his home and left a letter for us to come and pick up our mail because he witnessed ppl rifaling through our packages5) Dog urine, everywhere..elevators. .hallways,garages.I loved dogs but I had to immediately take shoes off at the door and spray6) VeryTHIN walls. You will have to get use to your neighbors television programming and their nightly discussions....yes...and that too:(7) Trash build up..you will need to figure out how to store your trash weekly until they empty the trash compactor closets...which ours had white fluffy stuff growing on the mat that cover the floor... Buy gloves...you have to open the trash chute...8) Building break ins..with homeless ppl (sadly) wandering halls and entering the garage when you drive in.Both doors to the building from the garage dont have locks installed. So anyone can enter.10) 1 am cerenades from ppl intoxicated and screaming in the alley.11) No onsite manager. You will have to deal with back and forth emails. Which result in you resolving to fix the matter yourself.12) The pool and spa were always closed...13) Most notably, do not clean when you leave... dots ( yes dots) on walls, smear from cleaning mirror, picture of them going behind crannies or sweeping bits of paper from under fridge will be swept out and spread around on the floor. and made to look like you left it. I know you are happy that they are offering 1 month free. However, you will return most of the money when you move out. . My recommendation is...do your homework. There are other apartments downtown that offer what you need at a value.

In overalls, the apartment is super nice, the view is great as well. One outstanding thing is the maintenance. Shawn always comes to check every thing very quickly and fixes everything on time as well. Great service!

The Audrey is a very nice apartment building in a perfect location. Right across from the sculpture park and in the heart of Seattle! Juan and Shaun are a great maintenance team and take care of issues in a prompt and professional manner.

I just recently moved into the Audrey at belltown. My moving process from start to finish with flawless. From leasing to the maintenance team everybody's been great. The building itself is really nice and the rooftop deck has amazing views. I had a very minor issue with the heat lamp light bulb in my bathroom went out and Sean on the maintenance team went above and beyond and came and changed it within minutes . I just know that I'm going to enjoy calling the Audrey at Belltown home.

We've just recently moved in and have been here for about a month. All the staff have been helpful, and the process was smooth. We have been especially impressed with the maintenance at the building. It's not a brand new building, there are some things that have been well used, but every issue that we had upon moving in was resolved quickly thanks to Shawn and his team. Just recently we put in a maintenance request, and Shawn was up here at the unit maybe 15 minutes later. Really impressive and it makes us feel so confident about living here for a long time!

Let me start by saying that I have been a resident of this place for a couple of years. And so, I do have insights into how bad the building has become now. Initially they had a package storage system. Where we got emails and could pick the packageNOW you can Never get your package. There is a high probability that it WILL be STOLEN! The building has had so many break ins into cars. In fact last year even the building lobby was broken into and people broke the tv and stole somethings. It has become so unsafe to live in. As residents, we have tried to reach out to the management several times! But they are not concerned about the security at all! They will tell us to take care of our own packages n not let people tailgate and lastly contact police as they will not help us. The management has FAILED to even report robberies, car prowls, homeless people entering building or stolen package footages. Their cameras don't work and they will not work to update anything. The building's storage, mailboxes and leasing office was broken into a couple times too! If you care for your safety and money, then stay away! Coz all they do is entice new people with offers, then hike their rents by over 15% and not even offer any security for your cars, packages and personal safety. I literally had my shoes stolen from my front door when I left them out for a couple hours! Horrific! The building facilities like swimming pool etc often have strangers or homeless people loitering around. They have some relationship with online sites like YELP which allows them to move reviews to an archived Non-Recommended section. Thus it stops being visible to normal users. #Beware#NegativeStars
