Our family spent probably 1,000.00 over the years with this company do to my sons skin condition. So I ordered a white shirt for cycling. After 2-3 mths. at an average of 4 hrs. per week the shirt discolored really badly. I spoke with someone explaining the situation weeks ago with no response. If I were you, at 100.00 a pop and no support I would look elsewhere. See pics below.

I ordered for the first time, 2 pair of pants in 2 different sizes each, because pants differ from company to company. All 4 were shapeless, blaggy and sloppy looking. Very disappointing. And then, I find i must pay postage to return them. There are more helpful companies to buy from.

Shopping from Canada I found almost no sources for SPF 100% clothing that fit and were suitably fashioned for my tall, older frame. The classic styles and excellent manufacturing of Solumbra products means I will wear them for years to come. Long wearing means not shopping again soon for similar items, money saved! Staff are very helpful when I call to order.

This used to be a great company however the quality of their products has changed. I sent back two hats for an exchange and/or return and they stated they could not return them. The hats felt cheap and flimsy and the wire broke after a month. Now the hat no longer holds the shape and can't be worn. Instead of offering a refund, exchange, coupon/discount, shipping refund anything the company said they would do nothing. I am now left with an $80 dollar hat that I have had less than 6 months that I can't use because the wire is sticking out and broke. The used appearance of my hats is not a product of my abuse but of the poor fabric and quality. The company says they make their products in the Seattle but they acquire the materials elsewhere. There are so many options out there I would really consider another hat company that allows consumers more flexibility when they aren't satisfied with the product. When a company can't stand by the quality of their product and charges high prices and shipping costs, it's time to move on.

Buyer beware!! I called Sun Precautions for assistance on sizing before I ordered shirts. The agent recommended a size that has turned out to be too small. At the time of my order, the agent said to not worry, exchanges are free. NOTE -- While exchanges may be free, the customer must pay for return shipping. An unexpected expense for already expensive clothes.

I was preparing to return two items and discovered I left the packing list with the return label at another location. Called Customer Service, they said no problem, will email one immediately. Never received it, not in spam. Called today, CSR could not locate my order with an acct # or order # and transferred me to Hailey. She said it was my fault that I did not have "notes" on the 5/13/19 request for a return label and there is no such thing as a return label. Seriously?

I really like the concept of these clothes, and my experience with customer service has been excellent. I do wish the clothes were much more youthful and stylish. Most of their colors are PTA/country club pastel (or BEIGE! SO MUCH beige!), and boxy (even the ostensibly "close fitting" items, which are still baggy in the waist but a little tighter in the bust for some reason). But, let's face it, *no one* makes hip/trendy/alternative sun protective clothes, so what can you do? And I get it, the primary market for these clothes is probably middle-aged+ white people, thus the styling. (Someday someone's going to make a fortune by cornering the UPF clothing market for fashionably pale goths and punks, I suspect.) FYI, their clothes run very VERY big. So if, like me, you're petite, slim, and hourglass shaped, you will look like you're wearing a Snuggie. Fwiw, I am just under 5'3", ~110 lbs, and their smallest clothes are too big on me, plus they don't have the full color range for the petite clothes (sigh). And yet, I bought their ultra athlete pants and top because that ventilation is pretty genius, and I am an active outdoors person who lives in southern California but can't tolerate sun exposure. If you like Solumbra's yuppy styling and are tall/substantial enough to fit into their clothes, it's hard to beat Solumbra for sun protection and durability.

I stopped by to pick up an online order and didn't even know they had a little store here. It was great because I got to make sure the item I ordered fit me before I left and even had the chance to look at a few other things I had been interested in.

Love, love this place! The nicest staff to help you with any clothing pieces you want to try on, by appointment only. Solumbra will open to the public mid May. This is their Seattle retail/factory location on Airport Way South. Their clothing pieces are UVA/UVB protective, blocking greater than 98% of UV ray's. Solumbra offers greater than 100+ SPF. Thousands of Doctors have recommended this clothing line to their patients.

Best place for those sensitive to sun. Some of my favorite pieces are from here. Made me finally feel good (look good too) while also protected.

I need SPF shirts because of my skin. I own three Solumbra shirts. I own two of the Versatile style. I'm not keen on the styling (boxy, collar doesn't lay properly), but I wear them. I own one of the Big Shirts, which I love. It was apparently a "defective" one because I had ordered two in the same size (XS - they run very large) and one (white) was 2-3 inches longer (the standard length-33"). The shorter one (black) was much better and the one I kept. Somehow I lucked out in getting a petite length black. It took me calling Sun Precautions to find out why the shirts were different lengths, and learn that I prefer the petite length. Unfortunately, Sun Precautions doesn't make the petite sized Big Shirts in the same colors as the regular ones. I've expressed my concern about this, but all that customer service can do is pass on the request to the "design team." What kind of design team wouldn't have at least black (I want another) available in both regular and petite sizes? Isn't black something shorter people wear as much as taller people?
