Did a flash delivery last night and was missing an item. No big deal. I put in for a refund. I woke up this morning to find raw chicken on my neighbor's doorstep. I checked the app, and this chicken (which was my missing item) was delivered in a second delivery to my neighbor's door 12 hours ago. No notice, just sitting on the neighbor's doorstep all night. The item has been charged on my receipt and the refund option isn't available on my app anymore.
The app said to call Instacart, they had no information about my order. Now I'm sitting on hold for the last 10 minutes with Safeway customer service in what will surely be another dead end because I have a strong feeling Safeway is going to blame Instacart and Instacart has no record of my delivery. So - I'll be out a $5 tip (never pre-tipping again) and $15 for the chicken. And I'm not spending more than 30 minutes trying to resolve this issue. I've got better things to do than wait on hold all morning because a delivery driver couldn't read the delivery instructions and tried to sneak deliver a missed (spoilable) item. I mean - just message me!
Update - 20 minutes on hold.
Update - 30 minutes on hold while simultaneously chatting with a customer service rep online.
Customer service rep in chat said they're going to refund the chicken and put in a request to refund the delivery tip. Can't ask for much more of a resolution than that. I'll adjust my star rating.

I am feeling very ill so in order to protect myself and others I ordered a COVID test on instacart. The shopper inform me that the pharmacy told him he's not allowed to buy a covid test with other items. Very disappointing that common sense policies are not present to the detriment of public health.

stopped getting my gas here because the old man who smells like cigarettes that’s inside without fail everytime comes out to stare at my chest/behind while i pump my gas. He’s old, not and excuse at all, needs to be put in a nursing home with the way he’s acting. disgusting

Homeless people stole discarded food from dumpsters and throws trash all over the place. The store does not even bother to lock up the dumpsters. The female manager was very rude and the senior director named Jia was impolite and rude as well. They do not even want to stop illegal actions from homeless. The local community is getting worse and unsafe due to the Safeway!

The person at the deli did not wash his hands or wear gloves while serving me.
When I went to check out the person in front of me was taking a long time, there was no sign indicating the lane was closed and the cashiers light was still on. I proceeded to empty my cart and had it around half way empty. At that time a different employee hooked the rope behind me
A customer walked up to the rope and looked in, the customer later came back and unhooked the rope. I got to the cashier Ryan, he did not greet me or even say hello. He immediately began to ask me if I unhooked the rope in a very accusatory tone. I told him that someone behind me unhooked the rope, it wasn’t me. He then began to raise his voice at me and in an accusatory tone say, well someone unhooked the rope. At that point I had lost all patience. I told him, I have worked twenty hours in the past two days and I am not in the mood. He responded very sarcastically, we are all not in the mood. I took my receipt and left. To top off my terrible experience, I found a hair in that deli food. I am NEVER coming back.

Pretty decent size store. Dont get over to this store often. They have a Starbucks kiosk store near the main entrance. They have a pretty good selection for the price.

I guess I was a fool to think the customer service desk was the place to go for customer service. I went in to grab an Orca card to replace my broken one. I also wanted to grab a couple things in the cases at customer service. First thing I get is, “You know, you can go to any cashier for this. You don’t have to come here.” I said that I could go to another register if that was better. They storm off and come back with the Orca card and ask how much I wanted on it. I said I just needed to replace a broken one and she threw the new card down the counter away from me as if I did something wrong. I knew it was $3 for an empty card going into it, but maybe she was confused or something? I just walk away and she starts yelling at me to come back. Put my things back on the shelf and leave. No need to visit this store if you have other options. Terrible store with staff that clearly doesn’t want to be there.

This store is pretty expensive but all the associates are very nice and helpful the sketchy individuals have caused a lot of issues and made this place pretty hard to shop. They finally cleared the tents and needles. Edit they now have all high theft items enclosed in a u shape area in the middle of the store which is a step in the right direction. Prices still are way to high.

Went in fairly late at night trying to find some items that are pretty difficult to find anywhere. I found mostly everything I was seeking and the staff were very helpful, despite the late hours/close to closing.
Can't ask much more than that. However, I do miss the old days of 24hr markets... Thanks Amazon! ?

Starbucks were very abusive to me over cent I needed for a coffee employee threatened me and I started recording for my safety guy behind Starbucks counter threatened my life as I'm only 4 ft 3 ....told me I better watch my back when I shut my recording off ...

Great location with all the things I need. They also have self checking. But if you need to use the bathroom, you'll need an employee to open the door.
