I had the best first experience at Resilient Heart Animal Sanctuary! The operation is incredibly organized, and the staff, volunteers and visitors were welcoming and friendly. The team provided tons of helpful information and various ways to get involved and support the sanctuary. I highly recommend visiting if you love animals and want to contribute to a great cause—or just want to enjoy some puppy time!

I stopped by this weekend for the first time just hoping I could play with some dogs as I’m in the middle of relocating my pup from the east coast and missing him so much. I was so welcomed in this space by everyone, but especially Mike that was working. 10/10 wonderful place with so much love to give these animals and the community. They really truly made me feel welcome and Mike took the time to answer all my questions about the ways I could support, including just stopping by to hang out with dogs anytime. I mean, what!?! Such a dream! It really did my heart good and I can’t wait to come back again and get more involved. Thank you so very much for creating this space.

This place has an excellent initiative, but I was taken aback when they allowed a violent-mannered dog to casually walk around the interior of their space with children.
They had a beautiful black German shepherd (?) mix who was laying behind the counter. I asked if I could pet it, and the employees said “only if you want to lose a hand”. Message received… About 20-30 minutes later a family entered the storefront to return their foster puppy. The employees left the dog alone who jumped over the small doggy fence where any unknowing person could pet it. I alerted another employee who had no idea the dog was “having a bad day” and could have a violent outburst, yet I saw a child reaching to pet it. Luckily the dog didn’t do anything to the child. Every employee was so nonchalant about this dog who was clearly unstable.
I feel bad to give such a low rating but you guys need to be a lot more mindful of animal safety. Sorry

I keep thinking about all the people at Resilient Heart Sanctuary all day today. They are so kind and sweet and just amazing people. And all future parents with meet and greet today were so awesome too. I made friends with them and exchange our number. Such a good feeling especially when I met with so many unkind people lately. Make me believe in humanity again.

Resilient Hearts is an amazing animal rescue that aims to save animals from high kill shelters! I've come in on three separate occasions, and staff are always friendly and inviting. They require you to mask up before entering, but they provide them if you don't have one on hand. There's always a couple loving dogs milling around, and I love how they allow visitors to provide socialization to these fur babies through visits/walks! Whenever I'm able to walk a dog, I take them just a short trip up the road (less than 10 min) to Gas Works Park! I love that walkers are provided with a convenient little bag packed with treats, poop bags, and a water bowl. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the dogs and it especially helps in times when i'm missing my own pups! Please stop by if you're in the Fremont area, it's a hidden gem I wish more people knew about. It's such a welcoming and loving space for animal lovers. You can also choose to foster if you wish :)

Great place to get volunteer hours! Staff are lovely, and you can just walk in and cuddle puppies and kitties.

I LOVE RESILIENT HEARTS!!!!!! The staff is so welcoming and always making sure that everything is as good as it can be for the animals. They are very careful that when you foster/get ready to adopt you and the animals will be a perfect fit! I volunteer there and I LOVE IT! If you just want to hang out with the animals you can! I would totally recommend fostering and adopting from this place. It's so nice that you can get to know the animals in an open and comfortable space, before you make any decisions to foster or adopt.

Wonderful and caring staff. We met our new best friend. I would highly recommend going through resilient hearts if you are looking to adopt a dog.
