Very interesting exterior; didn't expect to see a miniature trail and a waterfall there. The outdoor patio has lots of seating. The store is big and has a climbing wall, a fireplace, bathrooms, and a nice lounge area with books and guides.

Best REI! If you’re in town, highly recommend you check it out. Recommend checking out the garage sale section of the store - it’s definitely the biggest garage sale section of any store I’ve been to.Very cool to see this place! They have their own parking garage and it is free if you spend under an hour shopping.

Member since 1998….It used to be a 365 day gear store with knowledgeable gear users helping and loyal staff. Now it is just a seasonal retail shop with people that will sell you things in their designated seasonal windows they don’t know about. Gotta love how corporations ruin good things in exchange for short term profit gains.

I finally got around to returning a pair of hiking shoes that proved uncomfortable and lacking in quality. I was initially hesitant due to the lack of support I received there as a novice hiker in selecting the right pair. The staff member advised me to "just pick a pair and if you don’t like it, just return it," and then walked away. However, my experience with Matt was exceptional! His genuine interest, patience, and expertise made the process of choosing the right pair enjoyable. I feel much happier about returning and look forward to coming back for future purchases.

Why are there no Vasque boots stocked in store?! I made a special trip with my member coupon In hand sto try on some Vasque hiking boots which are shown on the website. The Staff told me they do not carry any Vasque boots in the store despite a number of customers specifically asking for them. This may be the last time I visit any REI brick and mortar store.

i dislike rei as a whole. i feel that they are just overpriced entry level gear. once you start dialing into your sport, youll often find that you could have skipped shopping at rei because their products are so rudimentary, hindering any true progress. only to regret how much you spent. thus exacerbating the barriers to entry to a lot of the outdoor activites. a concrete example would be mountainbikes, youll soon find that the travel on their bikes are relatively useless for any real terrain. the components of their bikes (suspensiom, deraillers, brakes) are all extremely low tier. for slightly more, you can get decent build outside of rei. highly recommend evo! they are considerably more dialed in if youre serious about your sport.and the entire co-op brand is pure garbage. also would you like to buy memberhsip? umm im already a member.however, the people at the store, while i was there, were helpful and courteous. no complaints w the staff.it is the mothership store, so lets gather here when the end of the world happens.. wear your most expensive gear! its def has more aesthetics than most rei stores.what a waste of gas to keep that campfire running all day.lastly, whoever designed that parking lot is as puzzling as the exit arrows. be extra viligent or it will increase risk youll hit a beam or a person! the angles and blind spots, the flow of pedestrians, the extra tight concrete beams, that will easily mess up your car.

Great selection of clothing, even plenty of plus sized stuff.

Visited here during a recent trip to Seattle with family. We wanted to take an easy shopping trip on mothers knee (knee replacement last year) before a hike the following day. Store has signage about an ADA entrance but inside, the store is not ADA compliant. Elevator has not been working since January so was not able to shop 2nd floor of store. Very disappointed in lack of effort to address elevator.

Stepping in from the street is like stepping out of the city. Super helpful staff, well laid out store, amazingly broad selection. Really, the best REI I've ever been to. Certainly the largest.

Ridiculous. REI KNOWINGLY sets up customers for failure. How?1) You can create an online account with an address that starts with "spam" and everything will appear to be fine.2) REI then suppresses any emails that start with "spam."So you'll never receive any discount notifications or verification emails. So what's the point of allowing people to create such accounts? Hello? If you have an algorithm to suppress email to certain accounts, then why isn't that same algorithm being used in regards to account creation. You set up people to fail and have a poor experience.

I have been a acid customer of REI at different locations, but have always had a sub par experience at the Seattle location. Today is the as second time that I am here, and that there is no one to help out in the snowboard section.

The manager at customer service was so rude. Completely unprofessional in how she communicated with customers.

I had such a great experience getting my ski boots mounted there. The service was fast, the staff were friendly, provided nice customer service, and offered lots of useful information.
