I work in the village and have frequented this Bartell's for a few weeks now and the customer service is non-existent. The cashiers just stand there, no greeting or conversation. Lines to check out are often into the aisles, the processing system used to ring customers out is slow and with no conversation it feels dreadful to sit and wait for the cashier to say one thing the entire transaction: do you want a receipt? Take note of some other retailers in the area and talk to your customers. A simple hello or how are you goes a long way.

The quality of the experience of frequenting this business has decreased drastically since Bartell was acquired by Rite Aid. The store is consistently understaffed and staff is not well-trained on the changes in systems and procedures. Bartell used to be a worthwhile addition to our community, but now is simply one more cash grab on the part of a faceless corporation and distant and disinterested investors.

Ray has to be the rudest pharmacist I've ever dealt with. Noooo customer service. The pharmacy is so mismanaged. It's no wonder your going bankrupt with employees like Ray. Looking now for a new pharmacy.

This store is always severely understaffed, rarely having more than one cash register open. There is no self checkout area so everything just moves really slow. Additionally, many times are locked up because of high crime in the surrounding areas so attendants are required to unlock many products. Needed help with something, waited nearly 15 minutes to get a simple product unlocked and the store worker gave me attitude and was quite short with me. I won't be returning here in the future and will instead just use the neighboring QFC.

Terrible terrible service. I made a yelp account just to make this review. Nobody answers the pharmacy phone. I tried to fill my prescription for two weeks through their phone and website only to walk in and have it not be filled. Awful and frustrating.Just go to any other pharmacy, there's another Bartells in Wallingford, just avoid this terrible unhelpful place.

I've only been to this pharmacy once, but the service was so great that I'm happy to give it a five-star "Yay! Best ever!" on the basis of a single visit. (This isn't just an, "I'm really happy with this place" five stars. It's a genuine "best ever".)Last Wednesday I went to UW Medical Urgent Care (also an excellent experience), and they prescribed two medications. They asked whether they should send them to my usual Walgreens on the Eastside.I said no, because they're short of pharmacists and would be closed before I could get there. They suggest Bartell University Village. After a moment of hesitation about the recent buyout of Bartell by Rite-Aid, I said OK.They said, cheerfully, "OK, you're done here!" They apparently sent off the prescriptions right away.I returned to my car, drove the 0.4 miles to Bartell, went to the pharmacy department and --Oh no! The grating was down, and a sign said something like, "Reduced hours due to pharmacist shortages. Closed at 8 pm."It was about 8:10, and although the grating was down, there were still people finishing up their day.I asked through the grating, "Can you transfer my prescription to a 24-hour location please?"An assistant came to the grating and asked my name and birth date, checked the finished prescription rack, and found my prescriptions. "I can check you out at the front."She came out the side door and walked with me to a front cashier station. It was apparently configured a little differently from the pharmacy check-out, but she took only a moment to navigate the differences -- cheerfully.I thanked her enthusiastically and headed home with the medications. (Four days later, I'm feeling a lot better.)Sure, the reduced pharmacy hours are not ideal, but the whole pharmacy industry is short. But finishing a prescription in the few minutes it took me to get from the urgent care to the pharmacy, and then serving a customer after the grate was down is spectacular service.Bonus: everyone in the store -- employees, other customers, and I -- was masked.

This is your typical Bartell. Has most things you need and will come in for. My only gripe is that they seem to always be understaffed, even on the weekends. The line waits can get pretty long and I don't understand since it's a high traffic area

It's an hour long line to pickup your prescription. Absolutely ridiculous and inefficient management. If you are considering choosing this pharmacy, don't.

This used to be a great pharmacy until Rite-Aid bought Bartell's. It's absolutely miserable now and I'd avoid it if at all possible. You have to wait in long lines for everything. Everything is disorganized. Shelves are empty. There is no one to ask if you need help.

The Bad News Bears A couple of weeks ago they closed the store late weekday morning due to staffing. Today they closed the store again late weekday morning due to flooding. Store closing may be OK once in a blue moon due to a true unavoidable emergency. Otherwise, they are standing in the way of people getting drugs they really need to maintain a standard of medical care. NOTE TO ASHLEY H: Please do not respond with your stock baloney answers. Spend your time fixing your many and deep problems rather than bsing the public. This place is heading south irreparably. Find another supplier.

I have my prescription on auto-refill here, but every time I go pick it up it has not been refilled and I end up waiting in the 30+ minute line and then wait another 10+ minutes for them to fill it. The staff are stressed out, so it's understandable-ish that they aren't entirely friendly, but lord whoever manages this place needs to step up to the plate a bit. You also cannot call the pharmacy, they will not answer. I've called multiple times to try to make sure my rx is ready ahead of time and have never gotten an answer, so the wait in line is unavoidable. Who would have thought, a pharmacy worse than Walgreens? Impressive.

This is for Katherine who works the photo counter. What a patient and delightful person! She graciously helped me print several photos when the first set I printed did not fully develop. She was kind enough to insure that the next set were successful despite being alone at the counter with other customers waiting. While I can't speak to the rest of the store, she was utterly fantastic. A stellar employee during this busy season.

Useless. For months, if one calls the pharmacy, you never get a person, and the answering machine does not accept new messages, as it is full. For months....Management simply does not care. Go somewhere else.

U-village pharmacy has been awful since Rite aid purchased the company. There are extremely long wait lines. No one picks up the phone and the voice mail box is full so no way to leave a message. Zero stars.

If I could rate them 0 I would. Ever since Rite Aid took over all of the Bartell pharmacies are terrible. They NEVER have the prescriptions ready when it's says they will. The app doesn't seem to be working. When you need a refill update they don't bother to call the doctor until you come in and find out you now have to wait several days. DO NOT get your prescriptions at any Bartell drugs.
