Love living here! Roman, the property manager, is great. He replies to emails promptly and fixes any issues quickly. The view from the rooftop is beautiful. (You can see Mt. Rainier!)(Property management asked for HONEST reviews - not just positive ones)

Lived here for roughly 2 years, great choice. The units are nice, big windows/good materials. Rent+utilities is on par or better than u-dist averages. Never had any problems with management etc. Will report back after move out/security deposit return occurs.

Love living at Prexy given its affordable given its great location! I also feel that Management does a great job to ensure it's a safe place to enjoy coming home to. I have never had any issues in ensuring all my questions and issues are addressed in a timely fashion. I especially appreciate the professionalism by Roman and his staff who clearly cares about his tenants and making sure this building is secure and a welcoming place. I have never lived in a better Managed Property in Seattle than here and that's thanks to Roman!

For transparency: Property management sent an email asking folks with positive experiences living at Prexy to leave a review. I've had positive experiences, so I decided to leave this review. My experiences are my own and I can’t speak for others!I have lived at Prexy for about 5 years, so I moved in under the former management. I thought they were fine, but not really around and they never figured out a successful way to keep our packages safe. I had my packages open and just left out on the floor several times, and straight up stolen twice. When management changed to Roman and Sweet Home Properties, I think things improved - especially in terms of package security since we have a locker now. I’ve also always had my maintenance requests fulfilled more quickly than with the previous management - about 1-3 days instead of 5-7.Perks, according to me:The best part about living here is the proximity to the U-District light rail station, I’m so glad we got one. It has been transformative for my work commute. And getting to SeaTac??? No more bus to UW station and then getting on the light rail, it’s just a straight cruise. Now that the Safeway is coming back, proximity to grocery stores will also be great again. There’s also a trifecta down the street: a dispensary, a sushi place, and a donut store. I leave the apartment once, hit up that block, and have a lovely rest of the day. Big shout out to Big Tuna - the staff are wonderful and the spicy tuna rolls are delicious!!! Please support them if you live in Prexy or one day move in. We have to support them so they aren’t yet another lost U District restaurant!Oh, and the view from the rooftop is pretty nice, it has a BBQ and a fire pit so it’s easy to host guests, if you’re into that sort of behavior.Pretty friendly neighbors! I’ve had pleasant interactions with folks in the elevator and near the mail boxes, which I appreciate since tenants talking with each other is how we create a positive community for everyone. Some things to consider:The proximity to the fire station honestly sucks. I’m glad they are saving lives, I’m in support of that, I just wish they used a more gentle siren at 2am. If noise is an issue for you, definitely consider a different location for this reason. There can also be a lot of general loudness, but that’s city living. People shouting, loud car races, etc. Again, if you need a lot of quiet, this is not an ideal location for you.The walls and floors are also fairly thin. I can hear both my upstairs and next door neighbor moving around daily. It’s not usually disruptive and I think I could not reasonably ask them to be quieter without requiring them to tip toe, but if you are noise sensitive, this is another thing to consider. You need a good deal of tolerance for noise here given the three things I mentioned.Roman will, on occasion, send passive aggressive emails to the community when people cause problems. I like the e-mails because I agree with them usually - especially about properly using the trash chute or picking up after your pets because it is not that hard!! But if you are in the habit of shoving rugs down trash chutes or recycling incorrectly (BREAK DOWN CARDBOARD BOXES!!!!!), you probably won’t like the emails as much and should consider a different location. If you reached the end of this, I hope you have a good day/night!

An affordable, modern complex in a convenient location… I have been living here for about 3 years. The management has been very kind/helpful/professional… specifically Roman, the property manager. I love living at The Prexy.

So allow me to tell you about my horrific experience living at Prexy.I had two consecutive incidents where two different homeless men tried to break into my apartment in two different occasions. Thankfully, my emotional support dog was the one who alerted me. When I reported to Roman, the property manger, he basically told me it wasn't his concern. I was left speechless. And speaking about emotional support animals, I gave my ESA letter to the office that my primary provider gave me and I kept being charged monthly for my pet. Legally, ESA animals are not supposed to be charged for.Service Requests:I ran my dishwasher for half minutes. When I opened it to get my plates out, the inside of the dish washer was burned. When I asked for replacement I was denied and they told me that I had to pay the damage fee. It wasn't my fault. My kitchen sink, it fell off. I placed a work order and even went to the office to report it. I was also denied when I asked if they could fix it. It took them 6 months to have the rude condescending maintenance dude to go put some weak glue on it. my kitchen sink was not even attached properly. The work left trace of lazy behavior and lazy people who did not want to do their work properly. So basically I was singled out, bullied by Roman the property manger and would verbally say inappropriate comments toward me.Lastly, when I moved out, I never received my $1000 security deposit back. It is 2023 and I moved out in early 2022. Till this day, I have not seen nor received my $1000. I should take this individual to court for discrimination, bullying and retaliation along with this company.

Great complex, superb location and by far the best management. I’ve enjoyed living here. I want to extend my gratitude to the management. Their warm-heartedness, flexibility and generosity is a rare attribute one could find these days.I see that there are some negative comments here. If anyone ever owned a fraction of a property knows how hard it is to manage such responsibility. The team here is doing a great job. Kids could leave their tears for their mommas.

Lived here for a couple years until August 2020. Best part of living at Prexy was the fact that I never heard my next door neighbors while inside the apartment.Too many cons to count: Lots of electrical issues - one time the entire building lost power and nobody could get inside without assistance from neighbors because all the entrances were electronic.Be wary of paying for a parking spot here. There were too many instances over the entirety of living at Prexy where someone would park in the garage that wasn't supposed to or management would let maintenance vehicles in - it made it VERY difficult to get out. I can't tell you how many times my space was blocked. Not worth the $200 a month for parking with how inconvenient it was just to get out most of the time.

Roosevelt Ave is a major thoroughfare and the traffic noise is unbearable (e.g., cars, motorcycles, a bus that runs every 20 minutes almost 24 hours a day, an active firehouse around the corner, trucks for the Volkswagen dealership across the street). It's very loud and I haven't had a good night's sleep the whole year I was living here.Management, package delivery, and security is a bit of a mess. Management wanted a 6 month notice (on a 12 month lease) if we were renewing, standard is 1 to 3 months prior to end of a 12 month lease. I asked if they'd consider a half month's rent incentive to renew, they declined. They decided that finding and screening a new tenant and offering THEM a free month's rent was a better business decision than keeping an existing one who pays rent on time and has never asked them for anything or been a problem tenant. Missing packages have been a chronic issue. We've had a few break-ins in the past year as well. However, to management's credit they did install some cameras in the lobby to address this.

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!Do not believe these five-star reviews which are POSTED BY OFFICE MANAGERS!!The management team is totally a MESS and they won't do anything for you. They won't give your deposit back unless you go to find them in person! I moved out from this place from January and I didn't got my deposit until May, when I came to their office in Pioneer Square. They ignored ALL my emails and calls. So DO NOT try to contact them via phone or email because they never replied. I came to their office several times during the office hour but NOBODY was there. It's so wired that the office manager only work 4 hours per day and 5 days per week, so theoretically, you can only "find" them on 1-5pm from Monday to Friday. Are they park-time workers?Plus, there no room for your packages so all the packages will be threw onto the ground. MANY of your packages will get lost and nobody cares about it.Besides, there was a constant noise going on when I stayed there. People who lived downstairs hold party every night and make crazy noise. I speak to the manager several times but no one ever tried to handle this. Finally I had no choice but call a police to solve this problem. If you want a quiet place and have good home service, definitely find somewhere else!
