Peter Miller Architecture And Design Books is a hidden gem for architecture and design enthusiasts. Tucked away in an alley just east of Alaskan Way and accessible through a parking lot, the store may be easy to miss but offers a spectacular selection of books about the built environment, architecture, and design. The curated collection includes rare architectural tomes, classics, and unique items like Japanese notebooks, pens, and small design pieces. The store is small, tidy, and easy to navigate, with a ground-level entrance on brick pavement, making it accessible despite slightly uneven surfaces. Visitors appreciate the professional and helpful staff who are eager to suggest books and share stories about their collection. The store also sells Junghans watches and Alessi kitchen products, adding to its appeal as a gift destination. While some find the no-phones policy a bit off-putting, it encourages visitors to be present and enjoy the materials. Overall, this cozy, magical space is perfect for collectors, design lovers, or anyone seeking unique books and thoughtful gifts in a special atmosphere.

In the alley but what a special place. Definitely sparking joy. Check out the book on how to wash the dishes, clever and humorous! If a tape dispenser can make your day (it did) you'll love this store.

This place is just magical. I have been living in Seattle and collecting architecture books for over 10 years, and I just discovered this place. If there is a rare architectural tome you're hunting down, then this is the place for you!
