If I could give this company -1500000 stars, I probably would. This company is a SCAAAAAAMMMMM. First off, sketchy as hell, my girlfriend and I went to rent a car from them in Seattle and as we were walking closer I literally wanted to cancel LMAO. This place is NOT it. We rented a car for 2 nights.. left it in the same condition AND THEY TOOK OUT MONEY A WHOLE 3 MONTHS LATER FOR DAMAGES????? We asked for photographic proof and what? SILENCE. They had no proof. My girlfriend has been in battles with them ever since trying to get her money back and they keep trying to take money????? It's a scam. Pls ride a bike or rent literally anywhere else than renting from here. Pls

The 206 number of their website is a scam medical assistance device robo caller. Only the 800 number is correct. It's IMPOSSIBLE to speak to someone who can do anything. I tried to submit a claim for a lost item and the website is broken OR they send you to Avis which can't help. The car I received was dirty and tank not full yet the paper said it was full. This is NOT worth the "discount".

I returned my car today with a full tank of gas, like I told the attendant at the counter I would be doing when I rented my car, and like the contract I signed stated I would do. When the return attendant scanned my car for return, she said I was being charged for fuel. There was no one at the Payless counter so I couldn't dispute. Avis attempted to help me but wasn't able to do much. Will not use again.Edit: In addition to the gas charge which they did lower, there is an additional $350 charge that I have no receipt for. I reached out to the email that was provided and no one has responded to me and it's been a week since I sent the email.

Payless rental at SEA-TAC was very fast and the agent was very friendly. The staff was very helpful when we got lost looking for our vehicle. LOL.. The price paid was grossly lower than the other rental agencies in the same airport. Vehicle was nice and clean, we were expecting a Ford edge and were given a Toyota 4- Runner. It was very comfortable. The process between the rental facility and airport was so easy and convenient. This was my first time renting from Payless, but not the last! We will definitely be renting from them again!!!!

Although the front desk staff were extremely kind and helpful, I cannot help but to give a rating of a 0 due to the vehicles condition. I’m not sure how they missed how utterly disgusting the vehicle was on the inside, but I felt as though it was a bit disrespectful. The vehicle literally had grease on all its windows, making it extremely difficult to navigate throughout the airport. The smell was absolutely horrendous and nauseating. I brought it up to the gentleman at the gate and his response was, “well you would have to wait in line again!”. I attempted to speak with the office, to no avail. No one seems to answer the phone at this location. I literally had to take the car and clean it out myself, finding old molded food under the seats and even a beer can.. YES A BEER CAN!! I can’t make this up!!! I should’ve have known to leave when I got to the garage and the line of people was wrapped around the corner (almost a 2hr wait) but I gave Payless the benefit of the doubt being that we’ve never had these issues with this company in other states. But boy oh boy was I wrong.. I explained this entire situation to the gentlemen who took the vehicle back at the end of the rental period, he said he would have a manager reach out.. I have yet to hear from anyone. I will not be using this company ever again, and my suggestion to anyone visiting the Seattle area and needing a rental, DO NOT USE PAYLESS OR AVIS AS THEY HAVE MERGED AND THIS TREATMENT IS THE FINAL PRODUCT!FYI, I gave this review a one star because it would not let me post with 0 stars given.

Overcharged almost $300 for "optional" services I refused at the counter. Trust the bad reviews and warnings from the BBB. They'll lie to your face when you pick up the car and then hit you with a large bill once you return it. The car interior was filthy and everything was sticky. Just avoid this place at all cost. You'll end up paying more if you choose Payless.

I've never left a bad review, but this needs one. Payless doesn't open until 9am and says for after hours go to Avis or budget for service. we had a ferry to catch and were assured ahead of time they'd take care of us. Not true, both places said they couldn't help us and looked at us like we were crazy after speaking to the supervisor, so we sat for an hour waiting for Payless to arrive. No apologies as we stood in front of the sign referring us to Avis and budget.as it stands right now, we probably won't make our ferry, and needless to say, there are now three companies I'll never rent a car from.

You gave me a car with a CLEARLY damaged front right fender -- it was sticking out! -- but neglected to tell me. Splotches on exterior paint may have been scratches or dirt, hard to tell in that dark parking garage. Steering wheel discolored in several spots by stains or bad cleaning products. I took pictures on my cellphone of all this. Paperwork did NOT include number to contact local office for help; I was sent to go find car unaccompanied in a VERY dim garage. I'm clearly disabled, the agents had to see that. This long walk was not easy and not fun and very painful. NO OWNER'S MANUAL IN CAR. I could have solved many of the following problems myself if I'd had an owner's manual to consult. UNFORGIVABLE. There were things I could NOT find and/or couldn't operate, including but not limited to headlight settings (DANGEROUS!), cruise control and power sources for my Garmin GPS. I had to YouTube the answers the next morning after I'd reached my destination. In the dark with only parking lights because I couldn't figure out the controls. Sorry, but maybe I'm just not smart. Also, button on keyfob to open trunk did not work at all. I had hoped to bring all this up when I returned the car, but there were ZERO Payless employees at that site. Again, I am disabled. Trying to find somebody from Payless was really impossible. The walking I had to do and the miserable directions I got just to get to transport buses to airport were horrible and caused me excruciating pain for days. It put a serious dent in the next leg of my vacation, let me tell you, and I won't forget that, either.

This was my first time renting a car. I booked through Expedia with added insurance a few weeks before my trip. I was traveling with three teen children and an infant. Service was exceptional. There was not a line around the block. The agent was knowledgeable about the area, explained everything thoroughly from pick up to drop off ad tolls. He even helped change my vehicle to a larger but same priced vehicle. The car itself was very nice. It had a little wear in the carpet and some parking passes tucked into some nooks and crannies. It was otherwise very clean inside and out no crumbs or obvious damage. It was a newer vehicle with Navigation and proximity sensors. It came with a full tank of gas and ran perfectly. Return was equally easy and I was given a receipt at the time of drop off showing mileage and a full tank of gas upon return. The only thing that caught me off guard was a 250 dollar deposit that Expedia did not disclose. I'm sure booking directly would have allowed me to know about this ahead of time. I have toet to see if the charges have been reversed for that but only dropped the car off yesterday. I can't recommend them enough!

You know that saying "if it seems too good to be true it probably isn't?" Absolutely true with this company. The name "Payless" is a complete joke. I booked through Expedia thinking I was getting a great deal. I arrived to the counter luckily early enough to avoid the huge line that formed behind me at opening to then be told all of the extra fees and holding fee that would be charged. The details of what all these fees are were never clearly explained to me. What should have been a $220 rental turned into a $500 rental at check out! The entire process was confusing from start to finish and I was taken advantage of. Never again. I'll be sticking with the bigger companies from now on. Lesson learned. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because my car was actually decent.

I rented a car through T-mobile paid online. (160.00)When I got to the rental place through (Payless) the person at the desk was very friendly. Was told there would be a 332.00 dollar hold on the car and upon returning it I would get the deposit back. Some of the price was for gas and toll roads. They never asked me if I needed insurance and what ever else I got charged for…when asked to sign I asked what am I signing for I was told gas, toll road and deposit.I have called their number 3 times and I get different answers.I did talk with a supervisor who refunded me the gas money ?Basically I paid about 500.00 on the car rental. After get money back for gas I paid a little more than 400.00I would have never done that.I also brought back the car full of gas I took a picture before I got out of the car.Unbelievable

The rental charges were unexpectedly high, and the car had a strong and unpleasant odor, making the driving experience uncomfortable.Furthermore, I noticed an unexplained extra charge of $68.67 on my credit card statement. I kindly request a detailed breakdown of the charges and an explanation for this additional fee.I trust that your team will address these concerns promptly and provide a satisfactory resolution.

CAR WAS DIRTY, RECEIVED CAR LATE, AND PAID EXTRA FOR FUEL SERVICE I DID NOT RECEIVE. If I could give zero stars I would. I had a very horrible experience renting a car through Uber/Payless. Upon arriving to the airport, I reserved my car rental using the Uber App. I spoke to customer service who told me to use the shuttle to go to the car rental location to pick up my car. When I arrived to the car rental location I was directed to go down a hill to building next door to pick up my car rental by a Avis crew member. I couldn’t find the building where my car was supposedly located so I called Uber customer service who directed me to the car rental location who redirected me to Uber once again. Nobody knew the details of where I was suppose to pick up my car. I asked specifically if Uber partnered with the car rentals there such as Avis, Enterprise, Payless, etc and was told no. An hour later of going in circles trying to find my car rental I receive information with my confirmation number. ( An hour after my pick up time!)The app help section said to go to Avis or Hertz but turns out my rental was with Payless. They only had one person at the desk (while other complies had 3+ working). There were only 4 people in front of me, and it took over an hour to finally receive my car, after the hour I had already spent trying to find out where to pick up my car (spoke to 4 different representative none were any help). After finally receiving my car, it was DIRTY. There was a bag of Cheetos spilled everywhere, a coffee in the cup holder, two water bottles that looked old, a salad, and napkins scattered about. I also paid for fuel service, was suppose to receive the car with a full tank of gas and the car had about 3/4 gas tank. horrible horrible experience will never be using Payless again.

Was really annoyed with my experience with this company. I had pre-paid for a truck rental through Priceline and before confirming it I called this company verified that I, a 23 year old, could rent a pickup, I have similar calls with several other companies discussing this matter. I'm a CDL driver that drives big rigs from 30k-80k lbs on the daily and needed a pick up for a camping trip but god forbid I can rent one. 26' box truck? I can rent one! 20 ton dump truck with a 30ft reach and trailer? I can rent one without even an extra charge! This company said I could rent a pickup went to pick up the truck with an additional fee of $29 per day(I believe this was the cost not 100% sure) that was fine with me. I payed online and got an Uber to go pick it up at the airport. When I got there the gentleman at the desk, a very nice guy who was just doing their job, informed me that I have to be over 25years old to rent a pick up truck I talked to the supervisor on-site and she said the same thing. I then call the company and talked to them and they again said I could rent it but with a daily fee, again I was fine with that. But the supervisor on duty said that was wrong I couldn't rent a minivan or a pickup truck under the age of 25. The entire time the supervisor talked down to me like I was inferior and even at one point said 'When you're an adult you will understand how the real world works.'So when I asked what's the next step the canceled my reservation and refused to give me my money back saying that since I have to cancel my reservation I don't get a refund. I contacted Priceline and they stated that they should allow me to rent and an additional daily fee per day so they won't give me my money back either. Long story short I'm out near a grand and they have a $250 deposit on one of my Credit cards that I'm supposed to get back when I return the vehicle so I don't know if I'm even going to get that back. In addition I had to cancel my trip because I had now way of getting there. I know that there isn't a large group of people that this will really apply to but I have never been treated like this or experienced this level of disrespect. I guess one day when I'm an adult I'll understand. If you are under 25 years old beware.

This is the worst rental car experience I've had in my entire life. Wr waited for 2 hours to get our car because they had "no cars available," despite our having a reservation. The Stagg was rude and unhelpful, the process confusing, and, finally, when we were led to our car, the staff member abandoned us for 30 minutes because something was "not comuting." Turns out the company mixed up our reservation. With somebody else, and apparently this happens often, because the woman told us they "messed up yet again upstairs." Bar none, the worst rental car company out there. Stay clear, or walk if you have to.
