They charged me $1,100 for a knock sensor repair on my 2013 Hyundai sonata. $100 for the part plus 9 hours of labor. Mind you, in reality this part costs $35 (RETAIL not mechanic price) and about 1.5 hours of labor to replace. (Where did the 7.5 hours go??) They thought I'm some dumb woman who knows nothing about cars but I was testing the waters for business purposes. Little did they know that my husband is a certified mechanic who owns his own shop and that we know the hours/parts needed for a job to be done via the SAME software ALL shops use (identifix, Mitchell, Snap-On.. etc) . You're not paying for quality service coming here. You're just paying for their expensive rent/living in Seattle LOL. FACTS: my husband's shop fixed a knock sensor repair on a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe for $500 (parts plus labor & diagnostic & taxesss!!!) Whaaaaaat!? (We're actually honest) so yes, I'd recommend coming here if you want to get ripped off. Otherwise, there are so many other honest mechanics who can do the SAME quality job with the SAME parts for MUCH MUCH cheaper!!! Mechanic shops like this typically up-charge their parts anywhere from 50-100% retail plus tack on unnecessary hours of labor. To all you who think you've been getting honest service here ....lol. You're just paying for Pacific Rim prices. Go 20-30 mins elsewhere and you'll get a much better deal!!!

Pacific Rim has been a great shop to go to for my oil and mechanic needs. They are always speedy, clear with their communication, and friendly. They also have loaner cars available, which is a lifesaver for those of us that have a busy daily schedule. They've always listened to any concern that I've had and have been able to present me with options and plans. Not once have I felt dismissed for my concerns or questions. Cannot recommend enough!

I had my issue resolved quickly and within a tight time frame for an upcoming long distance relocation. The staff was able to help with follow up issues and made me feel comfortable and confident to take the vehicle out loaded up on the long road trip ahead. I highly recommend Pacific Rim as a long standing customer of 8+ years and will miss their services.Services: Transmission

I reached out to Pacific Rim for a Mini Cooper Turbo replacement via email. I followed up the next morning by phone call to find they received my request and were working one my quote.Jeremy contacted me shortly via email for some follow up question and called me once the quote was complete. I followed up the next day with a quote for some additional work and follow up questions. I was pleased with the customer service and expertise plus they had a loaner available and could fit me in that same week.My turbo and rear brakes were replaced in August and everything is still going smoothly. I was very pleased with my experience and absolutely recommend this shop.

I requested to have my landcruiser's drivline u-joints greased and an oil change while I was at it as I do not have a lift at home and wanted to grease without the wheels being loaded. They responded saying they do not service vehicles without an initial inspection which has a baseline price of around $195. While not super excited about this, it was reassuring that they wanted to make sure the car was in good shape overall, fine. Pacific Rim called me later saying the service was done and they noticed the clunking while shifting (why I wanted to get the u-joints/driveline greased in the first place) seemed to be coming from the front diff. They then suggested i replace the entire front diff, which would run around $5200 total. Also, they were unable to find the zerks in order to grease the truck. I passed on such a huge repair for now and took the truck home. Frustrated they couldn't grease the driveline, I shimmied under the landcruiser in my garage and lo-and-behold I found the zerks on my own. Used my own grease and grease-gun and did it myself, despite the car being on the ground ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The clunk was markedly reduced, not gone but i suspect the slip- and u-joints were super dry and needs some time to work in. Granted, I had to drive the car slightly forward and back to get the driveshaft in the right orientation for reaching each zerk, (which wouldve been easy to do simply by turning the driveshaft by hand while the car is off the ground in neutral, again a reason i took it to a shop in the first place). I'm not a mechanic, I'm sure they know better than me on most things related to my own car, but i heavily researched this clunk before taking it in and identified greasing the driveline as one possible fix for this symptom. It's easy and cheap and at the very least would indicate if thats the true issue, all at the low cost of grease (14$) and 15-30 mins of labor. But to jump to replacing the entire front diff is a huge conclusion to reach. I even asked if they looked at the bushings on it to see if that might be the issue and they said they hadn't. Meaning without much actual investigation they were ready to sell me on a $5200 repair! Overall, Jeremy was super nice and responsive in communication. I hate to leave such a negative review because everyone I interacted with seemed great, and their other reviews are so positive. They even offered a loaner car if i were to go ahead with the big service, which is an awesome option to provide. But, it is hard to trust this shop when they couldn't do something so simple that i had specifically asked about when I first went to them.

Both my mother and I have been going to Pacific Rim for years and they always take great care of us. They are one of the few places that will be honest about your car. I’ve never had unnecessary services added to my bill. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. I love that they will wash my car after every service. If you have any concerns, just ask for Jay. He’ll always take care of you!Services: Transmission

Radiator leaked, major engine overheat. Toyota didn't offer a plan to determine if engine needed to be replaced. Friends recommended Pacific Rim. They had a plan, got us in right away, gave us a loaner for as long as it took, gave understandable feedback, tested after radiator replacement (no new engine needed!), had whole job incl. major preventive maintenance done in under a week. Car is running fine now. Toyota dealer and 4 other shops said they wouldn't even be able to start the job for at least two weeks. Pacific Rim has EARNED our trust, appreciation and business. I especially appreciate the clear, timely and concise communications with Jeremy there.

The folks at Pacific Rim are awesome. They took the time to explain what they thought my car's issue was, and also had patience with my many questions. They fixed the issue with my car (mysterious noise that another shop couldn't even hear, let alone fix) and also suggested a few other major things that needed to be done and extended the life of my vehicle. Thanks very much Pacific Rim!

Jeremy promptly helped me interpret the check engine light code and guided me to contact Toyota as the issue is most likely covered by the warranty. In fact, the issue was covered by the warranty. Thank you for the honest and transparent service.

Our check engine light came on, we got the code from O'Reilly and was told it wasn't a terribly urgent issue so I came home, lazily called around to a few shops and submitted an online form with Pacific Rim--Jeremy replied to me within 2 hours with how they approach this particular issue, the common issues that cause it, what might cause it to cost more (which they would confirm with me first before doing anything) and answered all my questions about the tune-up we plan to have done in the near future. Lucky for me they were able to fit me in the following morning and Jeremy had my car back to me the same day! I don't want to set an impossible standard these guys, but I am so grateful for the super fast turnaround! Jeremy went above and beyond answering all my questions about other funky issues with my car and gave me a list of what should be addressed first. They even washed the bird poop off my car :,) I'm not a mechanic, I work in HR, but I know how valuable time is to experts in their field, all the extra information shared/explanations given/calls quickly returned is above and beyond customer sevice. Thank you Jeremy & Pacific Rim!
