Great experience with Dr. Toomey, Flora, Clyde and the rest of the team there at OPA. Besides my new partially replaced left knee coming along nicely 7 weeks later (back on the bicycle!), they're wonderful people to communicate with.

The previous comment did indeed concern me, but today’s experience was good. The machine’s noise wasn’t loud, and they provided me with a good pair of headphones.

I have permanent hearing damage from this facility.Like with any case of medical mishaps, this was caused by a series of failures. In this particular case my hearing protection partially fell out and I had no way to alert the technician. I've had MRIs here before which went very well. However the problematic one I was with a different technician, when they were about to close on a Friday.Things that were different about the problematic MRI:1. Was handed headphones and earplugs at same time. There was no confirmation or waiting to make sure earplugs were in place.2. Usually they give you an alert mechanism so that when you go inside the machine you can alert them if something is wrong. They didn't give me this.3. Usually they stop the machine and check on you in between MRI "phases" (unsure of right term). This technician let them all go back to back with no checks in between. If any of these above steps were done better this could have prevented, or at the very least mitigated the damage caused to my hearing. It is very distracting every day to deal with this in the affected ear. My ear constantly feels "raw" to the point where it is like getting rugburn deep within. Sounds don't carry the same vibration. Eustachian tubes don't manage internal pressure properly so it feels like you are on a plane and causes excessive yawning. Tinnitus, especially bad in the morning when waking up.I think this facility would benefit from a restrospective training in these failure areas and make sure to adjust the process accordingly. These symptoms will likely last the rest of my life which is a bummer, but at least let this be an opportunity for you to improve your process.

I've gotten two MRI's here and both times have been really easy. Appointments were both started on time or earlier and all workers here have been professional and polite. Since the most recent time I came was during this Covid pandemic, it was reassuring to see the staff disinfecting common areas and taking my temperature to make sure I didn't have a fever. Overall, this is a well ran MRI suite with a straight forward and easy process. I will be returning if I need to get anymore MRI's.

I have never had an MRI before. I was super nervous because I didn't know what was I going to feel or hear. Checking was super fast as they already had my info through the doctor. Staff was super understanding and patient and walk me through the proedure. They give you earplugs and also play some music through earbuds so you can relax and not hear the loud noises during the scan. They will keep in touch at all moments through a microphone and window. It will last approximately 40minutes but it will depend in the body part to treat. Now, if you need a shoulder MRi, you will also need a Doctor to inject a contrast fluid in your joint. It won't hurt because they use a numbness liquid first ;) So be sure you are going to be in good hands :) Be sure to bring shorts and tank top. No metal. Not even your ring (I was able to feel something with it).
