My fiancee and I decided to hit a Michaels to see what discount Halloween items we could find (especially since we decorate our house year round with said items). There was a sale, so there wasn't a ton of items to be found for this purchase as far as fancy Halloween stuff goes. However, we found a great "Halloween Tree," which is all black, 6ft tall and pencil thin, very easy to fit into a small apartment. Plus it had built in lights, etc. And, AND it was on sale.Very happy to find this and the guy, unfortunately I don't recall his name, but he was super helpful and friendly. As was the other staff we interacted with.Thank you for the great shopping experience, especially considering how close to closing time they were.

Terrible bad service .. and I called on the phone to ask you a question about an item. As I begin to speak, the phone hung up. I immediately called back to continue the conversation. The cashier was very abrupt with me, I asked the question again, and instead of it hanging up, I could not hear what his response was? I asked him “sir, I’m so sorry there must be a phone malfunction “? he blurted in frustration and abruptly hung up the phone. A few minutes later, I arrived at the store to get my item. I noticed that the staff was being rude to me. When I confronted them at checkout, they were both very rude. We had a confrontation, and I told them that I had just called. The cashier told me “you hung up on me “. The manager reiterated that she witnessed the call. Then she told me that the store had had many problems with their phone in the past. It was not my fault that the phone hung up the first time and when he got frustrated thinking I was out of line. He hung up on me. ? It was extremely unprofessional for him to say that to me not knowing that they’re phone service was malfunctioning as previously stated by the manager. When I left the store , a woman came up to me in the parking lot and said “excuse me, I overheard the entire conversation before you arrived in the store, they were conspiring and chatting about you hanging up on them “she lamented that she witnessed how rude they were being to me, and that she thought they were out of line “? When both of them ganged up on me at the checkout. They insisted that I was rude previously on the phone. The only thing I had said in the entire interaction was “I’m sorry the phone hung up and I’m having a hard time hearing with the connection. Could you repeat that “? originally he had hung up on me and then tried to gaslight me and turn it into something I had done wrong? It was the most blatantly rude customer service I’ve ever witnessed. The woman in the parking lot reiterated my frustration. I see online that the cashiers get $10 an hour. He was obviously in his early 20s and hasn’t dealt with customer service. The manager backing them up was also very young. They need to learn how to be more polite and more professional. The sad part is, they will not be reprimanded and they’re giving the store. A bad nameTheir story will be gaslit and I’ll just get a slap on the wrist. But it was something you don’t do in customer serviceNothing will happen to them because they were supporting each other. Please don’t go to this store. Btw, when I was looking for my item there was six employees that were stocking items, and when I asked a few of them if they could help me each one of them were extremely rude.stay away

Do not sign up for any art classes here. We signed up for a friendship bracelet making class and my 4 year old was so excited. She got there on time for the class. The employees and manager kept asking ys to wait. My 4 year old was waiting there for an hour and everyone was fed up with waiting. They then offered to set up the craft table and thought it was all going great since they offered to set up the table 1 hour later. We ended up buying some beads and made bracelets at home.Perhaps they were never planning to host any classes and this is a tactic to get people to store to buy thingsSuch a disappointing experience.

This store has everything craftworthy. Gorgeous beads made of natural minerals are already strung on a cord so you don’t have to waste your time examine each bead you’re going to pick out of a bin. They have metal stamping supplies, shadow boxes of all sizes, reasonably priced mattes and framing, seasonal decor and seasonal craft decor, and even a respectable supply of washi tape. Every time I think the washi tape market has bottomed out, it keeps ROARING back! Albeit at a slightly smaller impact each time. My goal is always to pay no more than one dollar per roll of washi tape, and that is certainly doable here at Michael’s on Interbay. The store also offers FREE craft course almost every weekend. I can’t remember if these are on Saturdays or Sundays. You better check the store. They have free online craft tutorials as well, but I have not personally checked them out. They have men’s and women’s room located near the front between framing and the classroom. Men’s room is equipped with a swinging door but it still feels private enough with securely latched toilet stall. Also a urinal. Sink is fine and so is water pressure. The hand dryer is shockingly loud, but that’s okay, I guess. Tornado-like is how I’d describe it. There is room for improvement in the wreath making section because I wish there were more natural wreathing supplies. The false flowers and vines are not too convincing. But their bare components such as grapevine and bamboo and spider swag are all very natural and inviting for a session of wreath making any season.

Realizing that most (all?) retail seems to be struggling with staffing issues: it still bothers me when I bother to go to an actual store and stock is unfilled or unattractively displayed, especially if I receive no real service. I was in this store for more than half an hour, not finding what I needed/wanted/expected, and not one staff member - including the several nearby who had a lengthy discussion - ever asked if they could help. Shopping online does not come with these frustrations

Other than never having enough fabric remnants at this specific location, Michael's will always be one of my favorite places.

Decent selection of crafting, the Halloween selection has decent home decor and Children friendly decor (Office or School environment etc)... Crafting acrylic paint packs are on sale. I Wouldn't mind more Scrapbook stickers & Planners.

Super friendly staff when you find them. The space is so big, so it may take a few minutes to find something if you're new to this store location. It seems they don't have as much selection anymore. So I suggest trying to find it online first, then checking if this store has it in stock. I still love waiting for and using coupons or reward dollars. There is PLENTY of parking at this location and nearby the Home Goods store, which might have more storage options to display your crafts & supplies.

Great place to buy craft supplies etc.. but every time I’ve been the employees are SO unfriendly and out of patience. They have treated me like I’m stupid on multiple occasions for asking simple questions. Such a bummer.
