Dr. Crutcher is absolutely the best orthopedic surgeon! Technically exceptional and caring.

Dr. Crutcher has removed torn cartilage from both of my knees, with excellent results. He also performed hip replacement surgery on both of my wife's hips, again with excellent results. He explains everything carefully, and shows professionalism in every way. We wouldn't go to anyone else for knee or hip problems.

My surgery and recovery have been great so far. I'm amazed at the relief I have gotten already, post-op. Highly recommend this surgeon.

Doctor Crutcher was 1.5 hours late to my scheduled appointment, yet saw me for a grand total of 15 minutes. Despite what his website proclaims, he does not seem to be a "Meniscus Tear Specialist". In fact, he said that he doesn't perform meniscus repairs at all and seemed to question why I was in to see him.Generally deflected most of my questions about the benefits of PT vs meniscectomy, possibility of repair, new surgical methods, and just repeated that he could perform a meniscectomy on me if I wanted it. I can understand if a doctor is having a bad day, but a doctor should work with a patient on their care plan rather than treating them as a problem to solve.

My experience with Dr Crutcher was great! I had a knee replacement which was a success. He is not only a great doctor but also is a very nice person. Very polite and friendly. Pre op and post op appointments were informative and easy going. Surgery itself went great! His team replies pretty fast. Thank you Dr Crutcher!Dina

Dr. Crutcher put a smile on my face with his conscientiousness, dedication, and interest in my athletic style- which I believe may moderately return. Looking forward with confidence to the upcoming knee surgery!

Everything about this visit was excellent! I could fill out forms online ahead of time, so the check-in process was smooth and easy. Everyone was pleasant, I never had to wait very long, I got my x-rays, and saw the doctor, felt seen and heard, got great care, and was in and out of there in less than an hour.

I waited 6 months for this appointment with Dr. Dr. Crutcher, but it was worth the wait. He answered my questions very definitively, unlike the 2 other orthopedic surgeons I had seen for my torn menisci in the right knee. He is going to try a strong anti-inflammatory and a steroid injection first. If those 2 options don’t work, then we’ll discuss meniscus surgery. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He eased my greatest concern by ruling out a torn ACL.

I'm not one to post publicly. But the service and expertise of Dr Crutcher that I received for my surgical events was outstanding! I would hands down recommend him for any surgeries that are needed.

My entire experience at Swedish Orthopedic Institute was professional, warm and efficient, from initial scheduling to my discharge after surgery and my subsequent post-op appointments. I am five weeks out from a total hip replacement with Dr. Crutcher and am happy to be pain-free and healing well!

One word EXCELLENT. Kind of like how Mary Poppins sized herself up with the tape measure. "Practically perfect in every way."Dr. Crutcher's staff treated my partner and I like we were old friends whom they were delighted to see. I seriously asked the Exray Technician if Swedish gave "Nice Nice" classes. All my questions were answered with clear instructions for care and exercise until the next visit. Thanks to all I meet at Swedish, including the janitor who rushed to open the automatic door, and the check in clerk. I also had uplifting and humorous conversations in elevators with staff and smiles everywhere.

Dr. Crutcher's experience and skill as an orthopedic surgeon was, for me as a patient, equally matched by his skill, kindness and thoughtfulness in communicating with me about all my questions and concerns. I was extremely apprehensive of having a total hip replacement at age 54, as an otherwise very healthy individual- I had been trying all avenues for almost a year to save my own hip after a very unsuccessful emergency surgery almost a year ago. Dr. Crutcher was the surgeon who earned my trust in moving forward to finally get my fractured femur replaced. His medical assistant Alexandra, was my first contact with his office and a stellar human being as well through the whole process leading up to the operation, which involved removing the badly fractured portion of the femoral neck with three long titanium screws and then placing the prothesis.Cudos and thanks to Dr. Crutcher for his leadership in the development of The Swedish Orthopedic Institute, and to his team there. I'm very glad I made the choice I did.

Dr. Crutcher is professional, engaged and personable. He is exceptionally talented and has given me decades of mobility that would have been lost to hip issues. I've had complications and my case has required additonal treatment. Dr. Crutcher has always made time to make sure to provide the best care. He got me into surgery when necessary, and squeezed me into a busy day to review my needs. The nicest compliment that I can pay is that I trust him. He is trustworthy.Grateful patient.

I live in Kitsap County. I was given the run around regarding hip pain for 2 years before someone recommended Dr. Crutcher and Swedish Hospital to me. The Ortho in Kitsap told me I needed a hip replacement but wouldn't do it until my BMI was a certain number. I was labeled a drug seeker, I was defeated, my mental health was declined, my quality of life was depressing. I tried to exercise in the pool but pain was too much. As soon as Dr Crutcher saw my x-rays and heard everything I had been through he immediately scheduled me for surgery. Then when the other hip started hurting, he didn't blink an eye before setting up that replacement as well. (I had a congenital defect in my hip joints). Now I have two glorious pain free hips (Feb 2021 and May 2022) and my life has improved greatly. I recommend Dr. Crutcher or ANY of the practitioners at Swedish Orthopedic Institute. From the receptionist, radiologists, nurses, anesthesiologist, PT, OT I always felt fairly treated, important and cared for. (Much of this was fine during the pandemic mess as well.)Thank you Swedish!!
