Helix has some of their reviews removed. I reviewed this place two years ago when I lived there, but now my review is no longer here.During my stay I had lots of issues with noise from my neighbors. The building is made of paper and my downstairs neighbor playing video games would literally shake the floor.

I think a lot of the super negative reviews here have not had the pleasure of living in horrible apartments before. If you can get over the noise (yes, the fire dept nearby can be annoying) and the overall price, (which for the area is not terrible) then this is a comfortable well maintained apartment with plenty to do nearby and easy access to I-5. The apartments have nice flooring, appliances are on the new-ish side and the ceilings are nice and high. The best part about this building is the staff; most maintenance is answered and fixed within the week, the leasing staff are very friendly and helpful... so I was surprised to see that others didn't agree. I can't speak for previous staff, but the current staff are awesome. This is a major city in a pretty built up area, there will be noise, sketchy people and high price; like most apartments in Seattle in this price range. That being said, I would not recommend the storage lockers, and it's always good practice to not leave anything in your car, even in a 'secure' garage.

Extremely over priced, awful parking space in the garage, office hours are a hit or miss, if you work from 9 to 6, you are pretty much screwed trying to find them open since many times on the weekends they close. The street noise is absurdly loud, even I, staying on the six floor, can hear the cars easily with the windows closed, people talking when crossing near the street, and let's not forget the amount of sirens per day (and night), since it's really close to a fire department, and an important street, so you get all the ambulance as well, AND the modified cars with the exhaust that are quite a lot as well, sirens are at least 3 to 4 a day, so if you work from home, be mindful of it.The sound between apartments are good, you barely hear neighbors, however.... if you are in the living room, anyone walking on the hallway will hear you clearly, the sound isolation of doors are basically non existent.

Lived here from Aug '22 to Aug '23 for a year. Good things first: It's a neat, clean apartment complex with a nice lobby, rooftop, and a great club house area.Parking is on the more expensive side as compared to some of the apartments in nearby areas like Wallingford or Roosevelt. The apartment unit that I lived in was great too. It was spacious, well laid out, had a nice kitchen island and a big walk in closet space. The only concern that made me leave the apartment was safety. U District is generally not a safe neighborhood, but the apartment had a lot to be desired in terms of security. I had my car broken 3 times. Sadly the management wouldn't do anything about it despite repeated complaints. I understand it may be more on the management than the leasing staff. Several other times I've found homeless transients just loitering in the lobby or being passed out on the stairs. For all other requests regarding maintenance, upkeep etc,. the on premise leasing staff was helpful and friendly though.Love the little initiatives for residents like desserts, plant day etc.

This is an extremely unsafe, low-quality building with unprofessional and deceitful management. If you care about your safety and well being, avoid this building like the plagueResident safety: There are several shady people show up to the apartment and creep out the residents. In one instance, a homeless person entered the building and stalked my wife for 20 mins. In response to this complaint, the building manager laughed and said that all of Seattle is unsafe.Crimes on property: My storage unit was broken into in Dec 2022 and the management knowingly hid this from me despite having video footage of the same. I did not learn of this until several months later and learnt that several thousands dollars of stuff was stolen. It took a full month and escalation to corporate to receive video footage (see attached pictures for proof). Several people have had their car windows smashed and package stolen, and the management has done nothing about this.Things are constantly breaking down. The elevator was out of order for over 2 months last year, and the garage gate was not functional for 2 weeks, leaving us sitting ducks for criminals. Repairs are never done on time, and if they are, things break down immediately. Case in point, they failed to repair my HVAC hose 4 times and then we just gave up knowing that the team is incompetent.Move out: We were fraudulently charged $220 for home cleaning despite returning the unit in perfect condition.Management is incompetent, does not care and does not respond to resident safety concerns. I don't recommend living here if you value your safety and well being.

Living here is a nightmare. Staff are extremely unprofessional. Packages were lost and they did a terrible job of noticing the payment after moving out. After 4 years, they suddenly sent us a bill of 1000 dollars without notices. Such a terrible experience. I would NOT recommend anyone to live here.

I used to live in the Helix building. Wonderful office team, they were always available to help me find my packages. Maintenance team always attended to my service requests in a timely manner and property looked it's best. Too bad my job transferred me out of the city or else I would still be living at Helix!

Everything here is unbelievably cheaply made and management is ineffectual at best. Little things could make a big difference like fobs that reliably work or soft close apartment doors. I'd never live here long term unless I fell on hard times. The floor plan of the one bedroom is very odd with a tall step up into the bedroom and a frosted wall to the living room. Poor insulation so it's noisy AF from inside noise and the traffic and hobo drama outside.

Living in this building is a nightmare. The staff is extremely unprofessional and polices its own google reviews (even adding fake positive reviews). Helix has been without water for multiple weeks, fire alarms are constantly sounding, and within my individual unit, every single fixture, appliance, and window treatment was broken when the predatory staff moved me in. Then, they refused to address the issues (even refusing to keep the toilet from running water that we pay for).

I had a great experience moving in last month and I absolutely love living here. The residents, staff, and location are so perfect and I absolutely recommend this place to anyone!
