i have had 2 bad experiences with glazers, i won't be having a third. first bad experience: took my rolliflex in for a service (my mistake for thinking a camera store like glazers could repair a family heirloom from 1953). they claimed to have a very knowledgeable technician who services rollei's, so i brought it in for a CLA (the film advance and counter wasn't functioning properly, a simple CLA/fix as far as rollei's are concerned). when i got the camera back, they fixed the film advance problem, but the camera came back with a NEW and more severe issue: i now cannot change shutter/aperture after the shutter is clicked and frame is advanced. i asked glazers about it, they said this is standard for the camera and is a reoccurring issue that can happen. i can assure you, i've been using this camera for 20 years, and its been in my family since 1953, and has never had this issue before. i've never even heard of this issue on rollei's. clearly, they took it apart, and messed up when they put it back together. i've put hundreds of rolls through the camera and never had this issue. have had it CLA'd elsewhere, never came back with this issue. they said they'd take it back in (after denying responsibility), obviously, i said no and didn't trust they could fix the issue considering they didn't realize this issue was present when they returned the camera to me. strike one. second bad experience: i came in today to look at an old vintage lens, a 20mm carl zeiss flektogon, that they had recently purchased in a lot of old lenses and had in for repair, specifically, to repair the aperture blades. they called me to tell me the lens was about to hit their floor, and just came back from being serviced/repaired and is in perfect working condition. took me about 30 seconds of having the lens on my camera to test it out before i knew that the lens is not in good working condition. the focus throw was totally off, could not focus on anything properly. focus ring was also loose and basically the lens was falling apart as we unscrewed it from my camera. if a camera store is claiming clearly damaged goods were just repaired and function properly, i cannot trust them with anything. its sad because they are really the only camera store in seattle, but they are not knowledgeable whatsoever, have high prices, and truly cannot be trusted with servicing or repairs. its kinda funny, the people who work there are not photo and video professionals. some of their clientele ARE video and photo professionals (like myself, because we have almost no other option in seattle). yet, when you walk in there they treat you as if you're a novice just window shopping and have no clue what you're looking at. they don't treat their customers with respect. TLDR: i've experienced twice now, glazers claiming they have just repaired/CLA'd and fixed camera equipment, only to take a look at it and in 30 seconds could tell you there are major issues.

Salespeople at Glazer's camera are either good enough to keep or cruddy enough to fire. It all comes down to their attitude towards customers. The bad ones don't understand that they have competition from the internet. The good ones understand that. If I were running Glazer's, I'd identify the bad ones and fire them. There are plenty of good sales people who can learn the camera business. No reason to keep bad sales people. Because of the bad sales people, I won't shop at Glazer's again unless in dire need. You Glazer's managers: figure out who is turning customers off and get rid of those sales people. Seriously. Find out who we (the customers) like. Reward those people and keep them around.

There are certainly some great sales reps at Glazers, but echoing what some others have said, it completely varies depending on who you talk to and how the store "feels" that day. There are times where I have been helped immediately, and times where I was completely ignored. Therefore, I usually go in knowing exactly what I need and only go because it saves time and possible shipping mishandling over ordering very expensive items online. I got my first DSLR from them many many years ago, and as a growing professional over the years I have bought and traded plenty of good quality and fairly priced used (and new) gear at Glazers. They do have mostly anything you can think of barring specialty or extremely specific items/brands you can only really find from online stores like Adorama or B&H. Overall, Glazers has gone downhill in customer service over the years, but is still the go-to for a pretty good selection of used gear, and some more specific items if you can only get to Seattle, otherwise I'd go north just a bit to Kenmore as they have a very similar selection and, from my experience, much more consistent and personable reps that feel like they are more about helping than selling.

I have a vintage camera and Glazer's was identified by other camera stores as the best place to get my camera refurbished. The staff person gave me lots of confidence in her ability to assess the condition of my camera and she helped me immediately! I was relieved right away by her expertise and ability. I felt that any problem that might arise would be solved! I came away believing that I can come to Glazer's for any issue & I'd get the help I needed

If you're a novice like me, ask for Dion. He's super sweet and helpful!! I asked a lot of beginner questions and he was patient when answering. He took into consideration what my focus is and gave good recommendations. I ended up buying the lens he recommended.

Glazer's is a top end Seattle mega camera store, and everyone there is very friendly and mostly knowledgeable, I took my camera there for repair, an older 35mm camera, my first camera, and sadly after paying top dollar for the repair, it came back somewhat serviced with some damage, so as they were gracious to take it back and give it back to the repair person, however since they only have a part time repair technician, it will be another week or two before I can get my camera back. I am sad, I was so very excited to get my hands on my first camera to shoot some film, to only realize my beautiful old lenses will continue to gather dust. Thanks Glazer's - almost but not quite there. Side Note: I am sure they will be happy to rent me a camera or sell me a new one!

Great customer service and selection. I purchased a peak design product and was happy with how quick the item shipped. I would definitely buy from them again.

Prices were pretty typical for their used selection. I ended up picking up a newly released Sigma lens which was a surprise as my local stores don't typically carry a selection of Sigma. Deon was really helpful and generous in helping me out and showing me various accessories as well. Overall a pleasant experience and I would come back here next time I find myself in Seattle.

From out of town and my camera battery died so had to stop in and replace it. Dan downstairs was extremely kind and helpful. Helped me assess the problem and my options and checked out my old battery. He and everyone else was awesome :)

I didn't end up buying anything this time as I couldn't quite decide, but wanted to say I loved my time in the shop. The staff were very friendly, knew their stuff, and you could tell they cared about their craft. Will absolutely come back when I know what I want to buy! Thank you.

They basically had nothing I needed.. so I reluctantly went to Amazon (with tears running down), selected exactly what I needed.. and had it delivered right to my door…. Please guys & gals.. work on your camera rig inventory. You were missing 6-8 pieces of the basic rig items I needed to rig my Sony FX3. I’d love to shop here again (as I hate Amazon), but this is an issue your management should tackle if you want to be a “go-to” for the camera / video community.

Very helpful and friendly staff that have helped me a couple times now with an old camera. Always very informative and happy to offer advice. I think for downtown/SLU Seattle the prices are pretty solid. Easy to get to, and their rental store is in a separate location around the corner, so make sure you don’t go to the wrong one. Even if you do it’s only a block away!

I lost my eye cup for my Sony A1 somewhere in Pikes Market, only a couple hours into my trip. I figured I was going to have to deal with it for my whole trip, but I found Glazers and they had the eye cups in stock. When I got there they greeted me coming in the door and had the right part in my hands in minutes. Super fast, friendly and absolutely clutch. You won't get this at a national chain, thank you Glazers!

Extremely EXPENSIVE $$$ camera repair! Was not happy to find out how much the technicians charge per hour at Glazer’s, especially after the tech that called me with the quote seemed bored & uninterested attitude. My camera did come back cleaned well after the repair, however I probably won’t use Glazer’s again due to their high prices.

Summary: I believe your personal experience at Glazer's will be directly correlated to the sales rep(s) you end up working with. Overall, my net experiences have been positive and I recommend Glazer's to friends with a disclaimer - to go in with a plan and clear set of objectives for your visit. Context: After coming here for the past several years, I've had experiences which have included a wide range of feelings... * left me feeling completely dismissed; Instances where I did not stand out to them as an individual likely to buy anything and therefore any of the numerous reps on a slow day had no time for me * very satisfied with my decision to come in; These times have been mainly when I have a hyper-specific piece of kit I want to purchase AND they have it in stock * questioning if I'll ever return again; Some of the sales reps can be quite... terse, in their communication style. I'm not sure if it's a lack of knowledge or caring, but as the customer, it's not a great feeling * wishing I came here more often; Some of the sales reps are amazing! They're honest, patient, knowledgeable, and don't say things which put pressure on you to make a purchase.
