We rented a car months in advance and couldn’t get the car .
Zero stars . We went down the way and rented a car from budget . WAY better customer service .

DO NOT USE FOX!! When I arrived I was downgraded from a full size SUV to sedan. It was late at night and I had a long drive in front of me so I let it go. When I returned the vehicle on time with a full tank of gas they charged me for 18.5 gallons @8.99 a gallon.
Now I'm in the airport and their customer service doesn't open until tomorrow.
Simply put this is a scam and my credit company will handle it from here.

This was an absolute horrible experience. Not only was i not able to get the car i reserved in advance but they want to charge MORE money after being paid in full during the reservation. I was stuck at the airport for hours to find new vehicle accommodations. Never have i been to a car rental and had to put down a safety deposit AFTER i had already paid for my reservation in full. NEVER HAS THIS HAPPENED UNTIL NOW. I will never try to reserve a car from them again.

I rented a car over Labor Day weekend. The pick up was a disaster. They had clearly oversold rentals. 1.5 hours wait until 1 am and then told no cars available. Had an expensive round trip with Uber to get a car the following day. No financial compensation offered. Fox staff were great but clearly left in a bad position by the company. 2 stars because car was great and the service when they had capacity was fine.
The response below shows that my review was not read and the person did not research the situation. I would have taken any cars. There were NO cars of any type available for me or the long queue of people behind me at 1 am.

Showed up at my pick up time which happened to be at 12:15 (they close at 12:30) and arrived at the same time as two other people. No one was there to help us. Someone finally walks over and says “we don’t have any cars to give you guys due to poor planning.” POOOOR PLANNING?? I booked this car and paid FOUR months in advance. Don’t worry, it gets worse. The guy then tells all of us “we partnered with Dollar. and they will kindly give you a low deal because of this”. Fine, whatever. I just need a car. We go to dollar and they are shocked that we would even think that and almost seem to not even believe us. We were told they would only charge us $16/day for the truck. No no no, it was $90/day! For further dramatic effect, I’ve never left a review in my life despite how bad service has been but this time I genuinely feel the need to do a public service announcement for the greater good. They couldn’t care less that we were going to be left without a car at midnight in a state that is not ours nor did they attempt to contact us beforehand so we could have another option! Go to Dollar. This is a scam.

Currently standing in the ENDLESS line at fox rent a car. The poor attendants can’t do anything because they “need a license plate from downstairs”?!?! Been waiting for over an hour, everyone is PISSED and now priority lane people are showing up, after general people have been WAITING. Priority lane shouldn’t exist if you can’t attend to those that have been WAITING! We all just want to get on our way. This is absolutely ridiculous. I feel bad for the people at the counter. This isn’t their fault it is the bs SYSTEM you guys are working with! Clearly fox doesn’t value your time as this is my SECOND and LAST time using fox. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $50 to get a rental ANYWHERE ELSE!

I booked through Europcar, who are normally quite good. I booked a small SUV which said was a Jeep or equivalent. When we got to the facility, they only had basic Nissans, a much lower class of car than a Jeep. The car had no parcel shelf so all our luggage was exposed in the back, meaning I didn’t want to leave the car for too long. The car was pretty awful to drive and was very basic, probably the worst hire car I’ve had in the USA. I wouldn’t use Fox/Europcar again.

My flight was delayed and I called ahead of time and was assured the delay was within the reservation window. When I arrived at the desk I was told my vehicle requested was no longer available and I had to pay an additional $150 for an upgraded car. I declined since I was assured my flight delay would not affect the reservation. I was then told another vehicle was available for an additional $75. I refused again. Then my original reserved vehicle type was suddenly available in the system. Then was told I needed to pay an additional $8 because it was in the system that way. I gave up and paid it but I won't be using this company again.
Edit: In response to the business reply... My car class was available the entire time and ultimately the class that I drove. The agent claimed it wasn't available and tried to upsell me on a higher classes of vehicles. When I refused to pay more money she claimed my class was now in the system. Another alternative would be a lower vehicle class and credit but that was not offered.

Waited one and a half hours to pick up my rental car. It was a government reservation. Will never choose Fox to rent a car for personal use. Worst experience.

As we arrived we were notified at Fox that the “did not have any cars.” After paying in advance, I had to cancel our reservation. Due to the cancellation being within 24 hours, we did not get our full money back. We scrambled to find a vehicle at another provider, who provided excellent service. We will not be using Fox again.
Update… we lost out on $725 due to the cancellation. Do not use Fox.

Worst rental experience. Took almost 2 hours to get a car, despite having prepaid reservation. Then was charged for LDW when told no additional insurance and was assured that it was only a hold to my card, not a charge, forcing me to file a dispute.
Everything done with hand written notes, hence the incredibly slow turnaround time and general chaos.
Never again.

I had a great experience with Fox Rental during my recent trip to Seattle over Labor Day weekend. Though there was an issue with one of the tires on our SUV, which had an 18 psi reading, Eli Vigna went above and beyond to assist us. He quickly identified the problem, provided a solution, and ensured we felt safe and confident to continue our travels. Eli’s professionalism, thoughtfulness, and genuine care for customers made a big difference in our experience. I highly recommend Fox Rental, thanks to the excellent service provided by Eli.
