I used to really like Downtown Spirits. It was an amazing store that you could peruse at leisure to find new things and hidden gems. Unfortunately the move to the new location with "Just Walk Out" tech has ruined it for me.
Just walk out only detracts from the overall experience. The overall decor is cold and industrial with shelves too densely packed to easily peruse. Gone are the staff-curated mystery bags and discount section. Instead I now feel I am subsidizing a huge amount of technology to save a minute when checking out. If this were a convenience store I'd feel different but you've fundamentally changed the character of your business and removed what used to be the things that drew me in.
It also took me 36 hours to get my receipt which is just unacceptable. Some poor sod in another country probably had to review me picking up and putting stuff down first.

Terrible experince! I had to scan my card to get in to the store. Five minutes after I exit the store( I didn't buy anything),I received a notification on my phone that I was charged 50$...Thanks to that I had to freeze my card!

They charge 49.00 to enter the store! On a credit or debit card! Anything purchased after entering is either added if the prepay is exceeded or if not change is returned to the card!
No cash excepted!
Horrible experience and I will never return!

As a new customer, I've had great experiences both in-store and with delivery. Prices are fair, and in-store employees have been friendly and helpful. I first shopped without the app, but after seeing what selection and prices they offer, I switched over to using the app which has been easy.

When we asked why we had to scan a credit card with a $49 charge to enter the store we were told by the employee "that's the way technology works" in an extremely condescending tone with no other explanation. Terrible experience. Would give 0 stars if that was an option.

This $49 deposit to buy a 12 dollar bottle of liquor is RIDICULOUS. Now I have had this charge on my account holding two days later when the clerk said it would hold for only 20 minutes. I’m furious. DON’T BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE UBKESS YOU’RE PREPARED TO PAY AN OVERPRICED DEPOSIT!!!!

Items may be mislabeled on the shelf, so you may end up buying something way more expensive than you think it is.
Add to that the fact that their receipt doesn't give you a breakdown of the item price + tax means they're banking on you paying way more than you think you are and not noticing.

Only method of payment is through Amazon, more money for bezos, cash not allowed, doesn't say on Google page, drove here in rush hour traffic to find this out.
Seems like other people have similar feelings and experiences... oh ya, there a joining fee. These guys know what's up.
