The original colorist “Cynthia” told me she didn’t have the time to do what I’d like “because I have someone after your appointment.”
Cynthia also told me that she’d let “Pax” “know about your hair.” Cynthia said I needed a color correct because of a smudge root my last colorist did.
I came back two hours later. To note: When I came back, Cynthia didn’t have another client in her chair.
(I spent almost $60 to drive there mind you.)
I was looking to lighten my hair again and have a haircut of about 2 inches. The color had always been professionally done. I was told that even though my hair had not been processed since September, that what I would want wouldn’t be achievable and that she could “melt” my hair and that I could “go bald.” She also said it would take several sessions.
At that moment I got up and took the smock off, told her how unprofessional that was to say, told her I wasn’t going to go bald and that was going to go to the salon across the street, Sensa Salon. And walked myself right across the street and booked my appointments there.
When I went to Sensa Salon. I was told that the “breakage” Pax said I have is actually from the thinning shears (that I had used in a desperate attempt to lighten the weight of my hair) and not breakage at all. I had told Pax that I had used thinning shears as well, still unsure of how it was confused with breakage.
My new hair-colorist further explained that I needed a good trim and that my hair is simply dry but in really good condition otherwise.
She also noted that my last colorist did a great job of making sure I had dimension. She never once said I needed a “color correct” or that it would take several sessions. I have an appointment there in April and it will only take an hour & 15.
We did a trim and a glossing treatment and it looks amazing, I’ll be blonde again in late April. It was nice to be in place where the service was professional and KIND.
If Aveda was concerned about my hair they should have looked at my appointment history, because at one point I was going to their sister office in Queen Anne for highlights.
The owners are welcome to reach out to me directly with any questions. But they should know their employees are unkind and unprofessional.
I placed a photo below of the condition of my hair after my haircut at Sensa Salon. My hair clearly looks HEALTHY.
***UPDATE - April 2024!! I went blonde and can I just say my new colorists laughed and laughed that I was told my hair would melt off and I’d go bald from Aveda ?. Well guys, I still have all my hair, it’s healthy and I quote “lifted so well.” No color correction, and no multiple sessions and no damage. I uploaded my new hair, image below.*****
*Thanks Bryce for responding but I’d like to clarify that I never declined the service to do a test strand, I also told them they could do only half or a partial if preferred, I gave them options and did not wish to rush the process.
I only declined service when they lied about what I actually needed, how long it would actually take and when I was told my hair would melt and I’d go bald. You have two mean girls who work there, very simple. And I’ll gladly give my money and time across the street.
It’s also disheartening that you’d believe two unprofessional employees over a client, which would explain why your salon is completely empty. Thanks I guess for the lack of accountability in your apology though.

Cynthia is so awesome. She listens to what I wanted for my hair. I have been box dying my hair for many years and I had a bad experience at a salon once where smoke was coming out of my hair, and they burnt my hair so it’s always scary to do anything to my hair. But Cynthia was honest, gave me her recommendation & was confident that she can do what I wanted. I left, happy & loving my new hair. She is also great with kids. She cut my daughter’s hair & put tinsels in it and she loves it. My daughter can’t wait to go back and get beautified by Cynthia. I highly recommend Cynthia!!!!!

I've been going here for years to get my haircut and everytime I walk thru the door I'm immediately greeted by everyone who's working with a smile. Then we move on to the haircut which i get from Cynthia she sits me down and listens to all my wants and needs with patience. She also has the best shampoo and head massage in Seattle. I recommend all my friends and colleagues that want a quality hair cut men's or women's to go see Cynthia and her team here you will not be disappointed and going elsewhere would be a disservice to your hair.

I don't know if Cameron was new or just really high, but that was the worst blow out I've ever had. He didn't use rollers to set my hair, he dropped the brush on my head three times, and he didn't use any hair spray. When he was "teasing my hair" it felt like a toddler was attempting to rip my hair out. It has been 10 minutes and my hair is now completely flat with zero bend in it. From the street, the salon looks very nice. Once inside it becomes clear that no one cares about cleanliness. There is matted hair and residual hair dye on the walls. Every surface was dirty, as if they only wipe the place down on a monthly basis.

I am a local and have been to this salon in the past. They used to be good but no longer. Due to an unfortunate technical issue with my ability to call an Uber which caused me to be unavoidably late, Cameron refused to even try to cut my hair this despite having 35 minutes left on my appointment. I had made it clear that he could just do what he could with the time he had left but he refused to even try. He also informed me that he would be attempting to charge me the full amount of the service despite having done nothing. This is such disappointing service from an Aveda branded property- I will not be back!

Wonderful spot with great artists. I’ve been a customer for a year now after moving from a SLU Aveda location. Could not be happier

Cameron was amazing! I got partial highlights and a cut and he did an absolutely amazing job! Cameron had helped me to figure out exactly what I was looking for and had excellent expertise. I would highly recommend Cameron to anyone looking to feel gorgeous and radiant by the end your appointment!Services: Hairstyling

This is one of my favourite hair salons in Seattle. I have been going here for the past 4 years and my experience has been beyond wonderful. Cameron is great , he pays attention to what your are saying works really hard to give you that perfect cut. Cynthia is also great. Overall great experience.

Roxanne is Amazing, and this is a fantastic Aveda salon! I had seen her for years when I lived in Seattle, and now I have to schedule trips to visit to get my hair done properly. Her highlights are magic; none of that stripey non-sense Mohawk pattern. These grow out beautifully, and my color is perfectly beachy! This most recent cut is easy to wear straight or curly, has a great shape and framing, and will grow out nicely (since I can’t be there nearly as often as I’d like!!). In the past we’ve been through tons of different styles, lengths and colors, and I’ve always been pleased with the results. Her years of Aveda Training really show in how she is able to adapt current styles to whatever hair is in front of her. Plus, she’s a super sweet and interesting human!Services: Hair highlighting
