I took seven copper pans in for a recommendation regarding retinning them for $1100. Then I changed my mind due to the cost but when I called to cancel I was told the pans had been cleaned and shipped to a tinning company. However today when I picked up the pans it was clear that the pans had not been cleaned. Honestly I believe I was scammed so yet I was charged $55 for the shipping costs.

Took a damaged silver coffeepot to get a repair estimate. We discussed what was involved and they were honest, and mentioned that since it was plated, the repair would cost more than its value and would only be for sentimental reasons. Lots of examples in their showroom of their fantastic work.

I brought a box of items in to be examined by Zapffe Silversmiths and a young man quickly moved items around in the box without fully looking at each piece. He was pretty quick to say that it is all silver plated and worthless. Fortunately for me, I got a second opinion and the other place found a STERLING SILVER cup that I got paid for. I won't bother stopping here anymore because they don't check the items carefully enough and just say it's all junk.

I took two silver candelabra to Carl Zapffe Silversmiths for repair. Both pieces had significant bends at the base of each stem. On top of that, both items had suffered years of neglect and were therefore badly tarnished. Carl Zapffe completely repaired both bends and removed all tarnish. The two candelabra look as lovely as they did when my father received them as a wedding gift more than 75 years ago! I am so pleased with their work and highly recommend them to anyone in need of similar service. They do fabulous work!

They restore so much more than silver! I brought in a very old, tarnished, and damaged incised brass tray, and now it looks better than I remember from when it was new. I wish I had taken a "before" photo, but the "after" is spectacular!

Absolutely stunning refinishing work. I bought an old PNW bungalow and discovered a trove of door hardware that had been painted over the years and difficult to use. Wanting to save it all, it was hard to find a craftsman who could help me restore the finishes. I'm lucky I stumbled across the team at Zapffe, as the results are jaw dropping! They have been a part of our restoration story throughout 2021, and the artistry in the Japanned Eastlake pieces is highly detailed. Can't wait to get these reinstalled on the old fir doors!
