Not supportive of the community. Bellwether has gotten in the way of a young community-enhancing business from opening. Interaction with bellwether should not require legal intervention, but it seems from word of mouth that that is the only recourse. TI payments need to be given and promptly so thart U District businesses can flourish.

Actively and at this point intentionally impeding on the opening of a small business. Stalling fulfilling T.I. Payments. Corrupt business. Waiting on this shell of a company to operate so I can patronize Toasted. Will update if they take action.

Management and maintenance has gotten so much better. In fact they deserve a raise now. However, my parking situation that I pay for has become a big issue due to prior management not being so organized.

Horrible management and maintenance with high turnover. Honestly you can feel the elitism from the top and how careless they are about their residents. This is like a wolf in sheep’s clothing pretending to do well but letting their residents suffer due to maintenance being absolutely horrible and lack communication. I’ve had an issue for over a month and they have yet to have any action or take their sweet time with no resolution. We deserve better than the scraps that they throw at us and I’m keeping record of all of this to give to the city.

This is the worst company I have ever worked for in my entire life!!!! Management is not only terrible but never present. The times diashelle was in the office she talked baldy about the company, her boss and other coworkers. After nearly two months of running an office at one of BW properties ALONE! My second day on the job I was completely by myself.I was never walked thru the property, procedures nor shown how to process an application properlyCorrected parking to be told to stop until diashelle returned by diashelle and yet nothing had happened with parkingI was told within 60-90 days I would be better trained. The following week diashelle was in California, out of the office and unreachable.Files and applicant status have set for weeks waiting for diashelle to sit down with me to go over them.Usually when in the office she's in the back working but on the phone with a kesha .. working and mainly gossipingI was told by diashelle to send my open applicant files to kesha for review. Kesha never had time to review themI was told by diashelle 09/28/22 that I wasn't doing enough and need to be googling my questions and the position requirements.I was told 8am-10am is my administrative time and to keep the office closed for that work. Then I was told I need to have the office open at 8am even when working on admin time.I finally spoke up about needing more support and wanting to learn from my manager and her response was I need to Google my work with tax credit paperwork instead of being willing to teach.. I watched this woman only help the people she wants to let into the property or who she chooses to interact with as far as residents. I've watched her and the company not paying attention to people's ledgers and not adding checks or the people's subsidy to correctly so they are left owning thousands of dollars!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND WE MUST SHED LIGHT ON THESE MAJOR ISSUES on bad apples and need for change

You will be homeless before they get back you.Seriously, this is a criminal enterprise. Absolutely mind blowing how they operate this business. They get money from the City, County, and Federal government, and they have no sense of urgency or make any effort to be better. They need all their funding cut, because for all the money they get, they have very little success to show. Every metric of customer service, residential response, potential resident support is sub-par. Just utterly a morass.

I been reading the reviews. I am stressed out because I am going down that same path as most have on here. It’s disappointing knowing this is a continuous thing. Being a single mom 8 months pregnant, trying to reach out multiple times, taking the necessary steps to find an affordable roof over you and your children heads is a lot. Don’t want to seem like a pest, I’m sure they are receiving a lot of calls and are busy. But to not get no one to reach out to you, while you’re doing all that you can on your part with no response back, and time is ticking. I will be homeless, risk of losing my job. And I can’t afford that. You call in and speak with someone they tell you something different. Dragging the process longer. I’m not even at the process of an application because no one is getting back with me about any apartments. Super hard to find affordable rent, so when you do, seeing there is availability, but you get the run around, it’s depressing.

I truly wish I could zero stars.Similar to other reviews, I have been waiting since Mid-April for an apartment. As a low income single mom of two kids, I tried to give ample time to find a place to live before moving out. I understand that application processes are long, but I now, as of today, have nowhere to stay and will need to find shelter until I wait for one of the other low income apartments I applied for come through. Or the one I applied for.I have been calling nonstop and emailing, begging for someone to let me know what is going on with my application. Again, I started the process in April. The building opened June 15 and I was initially told I could have a July 1 move in.After several calls, a week ago I was told that my application had errors on it (including the wrong size unit) and that I needed to come fix it. FINALLY, it is in a final review, but I am homeless. The move in date on the application changed to July 15th, which I was not informed of. Had I known that it was going to take so long, I would have started looking for something else a very long time ago. This is very upsetting to me and the fact that other people have experienced the same is concerning.Edit: apparently there was a change of leasing agents, as well as a backup on processing a multitude of applications for a new building, which is why the application process was prolonged. Staff has been very helpful and communicative, so I am amending my above review to reflect the positive experience I am now having. Start the process early!

If 0 stars exist I would rate accordingly for the experience I had, its the absolute worst. I had such a hard time getting a hold of them. I needed to vacate my old apartment around April and came in to see if I can start applying at Arbora maybe a little early around Feburary since I hear alot about how much time they take. The empolyees were nice but refused to let me apply 2 months early, so I called back and applied in March which is a month before my desired vacate date on Apirl. The pre-screen was quick and approved on the same week but the application had alot of paperwork and I even printed out extra information just to make the process go smoothly for them, yet they still ask for more information even if I already provided it in paper before! As March rolls by I waited patiently for the process and haven't heard from them for a whole month. Finally called me back basically close to my vacate date on Apirl. You know what thry say? THEY NEED MORE INFORMATION. At that point I knew they would take another month or even more and my fiance and I would end up homeless if I waited longer. So I dropped the application and desperately looked elsewhere. They wasted my time. They really need better staffing (and treatment to the staff) to accommodate for the amount people needing affordable housing. They almost never answered no matter how may emails/messages you leave and the process takes way too long, even if you provided a desired date to move in date within a month, especially even if you want to apply early they will refuse for whatever reason. This is terrible that it is happening to alot of other people with simliar experience. Please look elsewhere until their staffing is better!

I would not recommend Bellwether for employment or to live. After being harassed and discriminated against by Virginia F. I was forced to quit after I voiced concerns to Paul R. and HR multiple times, once with a multi page letter with no resolve. Now I'm being harassed with parking stickers threatening to tow my car now that I'm not employed but still live at one of their buildings. Machelle, the manager, at Kingway has allowed residents to park multiple cars outside of parking spots without saying anything. Blocking the path of the tenants paying for parking as well as in fire lanes. Cars that are obviously not operable along with a burnt car sitting in employee only parking for weeks! If this isn't discrimination and retaliation I don't know what is.
