Absolute trash in every way. Deeply regret choosing this for my car loan and will be refinancing away from becu asap. If you're thinking of using them, don't.
Had my car before current car with Capital one, who was so convenient, kind, and great customer service. Becu direct opposite. If I could give lower rating, I would.

I really want to love becu, but every time there is a suspicious charge on my account, I have to call in and close my card and get a new one, and on top of that if it happens on a Friday, don't expect being able to do anything that costs money because they're closed on weekends!!! And if you don't choose to go into a bank, you have to wait a week or more to get your new card by mail!!
I don't like supporting big banks, but when you reported a suspicious charge, they would fix it without you having to get another card.

This credit union has TERRIBLE ONLINE support. I had to call several times to cancel a recurring external transfer. I was advised to fill multiple confusing forms, and they didn't work. They kept charging my external account. Then I asked to close my account and they forced me to come in person. Awful service, terrible accessibility, frustrating incompetence.

I had automatic payments set up for over a year - this month about $100 more was taken out + a process charge because they were trying to take too much out.
When I called I was told my current automatic payments were set up wrong and it’s been a “fluke” for over a year that it’s been working even though I set these payments up over the phone to make sure they were done right.

Careful if you own a small business. They limit your moneys and you have to constantly call them to ask if you can access your funds.

I went in on 12/30/23 and very quickly ask them for a card with a fax number on it so I can help my dad with his car registration upstairs. Blonde lady with curly hair told me to check in even though there were two tellers available. She couldn't even hand me a card, and she was super rude. She told me I'd have to check in for them to look up a fax number. My dad went in after me and someone walked up to him and just handed him the fax card. Why was it different for me?

the people who work at the branch are great and helpful. the ATMs are trash and are always giving me issues. i had the machines eat 250 dollars and it didn’t even give me a receipt.

Run, don't walk. I've been a member since 1989 and it has rapidly declined in the past 5 years. Unbelievably lame on the whole gamit from the security/risk assessment, to simply address updates. Their online banking and app super sucks. Very sad that it just sucks so bad when it was great for almost 30 years. Go to Verity or WECU or even a bank is better like Home street.

They are fine for most things. But heaven forbid you try to make a credit card payment over the phone without a BECU checking account. If you dare attempt this you will be then dragged to the 7th layer of hell, in an absolutely, torturous process that I would not wish on my worst enemy.

It's fine if you walk in the front door.Parking in back (near the big BECU sign) gets you a $93 ticket. I do not plan to return to Ballard Square again.

They don't answer the phone, they don't have teller services, I'm not quite sure what the purpose is.

BECU is such a pain. Every employee I’ve ever talked to about an issue has given a different answer to the same question.I wanted to set up a specific type of account for Power of Attorneys at the Ballard location and it took six hours over two days to get it set up.There’s no way to get ahold of a specific branch via phone, so if you want to follow up with someone you spoke to you have to go in person.If you call their “customer service” line, expect to wait on hold for 20-30+ minutes. Once someone answers, if you have anything other than a generic question they will put you on hold for another 20+ minutes. They also have the worst hold music in the history of hold music.BECU’s whole shtick is that they’re easy to use, but in my experience they’re the biggest waste of time.If you don’t need tellers, check out Ally bank. All online, no overdraft fees, quick customer service and currently they have savings accounts with 1.5% interest.

I walked in with a somewhat complicated issue and Patrick was so patient and kind. The process took well over an hour and he had to speak with multiple people to really get to the bottom of my issue, but he was so nice about it. I really appreciate the wonderful service I received!
