I was a bit hesitant to go here because many of the reviews indicate this store is really problematic. However my experience at the pharmacy was lovely. They filled my prescription in the time frame they promised. It seemed to be well staffed and there were no lines. The staff were friendly and helpful. I did notice that many of the shelves were barren of common items. It's not like there's a global shortage of shampoo so I'm not quite sure why they didn't have any. Hopefully this company will get out of bankruptcy and survive.

Several weeks ago I had some problems getting my prescription ordered correctly at the Queen Anne Bartells, the result of my provider incorrectly sending the prescription to the wrong pharmacy. After three trips to Bartells that day, the pharmacy technician recognized me, brought me to the front of the line and completed the transaction quickly and efficiently.
I greatly appreciated what he did, even though Bartells had done nothing wrong.

Store had zero items on my list. This is ridiculous.

This location literally has empty shelves. Don’t even bother trying to come for anything over-the-counter because you won’t find it. Not only that, when you try to call there, they just say “I don’t have time for a question about restocking I have a long line here” and hang up the phone. How rude can you be to a customer? Why not just ask nicely if you can put them on hold? Won’t be going back.

One of the worst pharmacy lines you’ll ever encounter. No matter the day and time. The rest of the store looks like it’s having a closing, everything must go sale. Items haven’t been restocked in I’m not sure how long.

I just want to thank pharmacist Paul for filling my Levothyroxin prescription with just hours to go before I boarded my cruise ship. I realized I had forgotten my pills that morning and was leaving for a 7 day cruise and wouldn’t get home for several more days after. The whole pharmacy staff was very nice and helpful. Thanks again! L. Hunter

Pharmacy is still stocked but a lot of the consumer goods is missing from the shelves because bartell drugs was bought out by Rite Aid. At least this location is still open for pharmacy and selected goods. Just not as stocked as it used to be before Rite Aid. A lot of the goods you used to get here should be bought out at other places like Target, Walmart or your local supermarket.

EDIT: The store is still chronically out of certain items like soap and mouthwash. I was informed by an employee that the problem is Bartells was bought by Rite Aid who shortly afterward went bankrupt and promptly closed all Bartells stores but this one. Suppliers simply won't sell products to Bartells because Rite Aid won't pay them. (7/23/24)
EDIT: Things have gotten much better at this store, so I increased my review to 3 stars. They fixed the pharmacy issues, so no problem there. However, there's still stock issues. While most items are in stock now, randomly, there's still entire product lines that are out of stock. Just went there today to get hand soap and they are almost entirely out of everything. See photo of the soap aisle from today (6/20/24)
Original review:
Wow this store used to be so good, now it's really terrible. Nothing I want is in stock anymore. Shelves are half empty. The pharmacy is atrocious. Pharmacy lines are unreal. After waiting an hour last night, they sent everyone in line home when they closed at 8pm. It's like we've lost a war.

The fact that you can’t figure out how to staff a pharmacy over a 30min lunch break is depressing. A liquor store managed by college aged idiots is better run than this.

Staff here are great. Otherwise terrible as a result of the Rite Aid sale. Nothing you need is ever in stock.

I can see what this place is going bankrupt. Please note customer service means acknowledging that the customer is there. A simple turn to stop your action and greet them is the 1st step in establishing a connection. Peripheral vision does not cut it. Rude! Rude! Rude

Good pharmacy with great staff, bad company run by morons. I've used this Queen Anne pharmacy and other Bartell stores in the Seattle area for years and was always very satisfied. Then someone made the asinine decision to close several busy locations, forcing this location to handle the new volume resulting in a chaotic and busy drugstore that struggles with long lines and very busy staff trying to keep up with the massive workload. A commendable effort by the staff keeps this place afloat- but you have to plan ahead and go early in the morning when it's not as busy. Hard to understand why a trusted Seattle pharmacy chain that has built a vast customer base is underperforming to the point where they have to close stores and create this mess.

Literally wasted 40 minutes of my time for them to refill my prescription with the incorrect quantity only to told it can’t be fixed today because it’s already been filled INCORRECTLY. I’m now missing vials and only have a certain amount of refills left. Furious.
