Shopping at this location is always something I enjoy because it's two stories of books! I will say engagement wise this location has had by far the most helpful staff. I had at least three different employees ask if I needed help and one checked in on me again to make sure I was doing okay and gave recommendations as well based on what I was looking at.

Always a great place to find inspiration through words.

I would give this place a five star review. The only reason I'm giving it a one star review is because of one specific manager (seems newish) there. She's a younger gal and is so incredibly rude and condescending to the customers. She honestly should not be working at a book store and would be better suited to work in a women's or men's prison. I pray she gets fired soon because no one is treated with respect by this certain young manager at the Northgate Barnes and Noble.

Worst location of B&N I’ve ever been to due to the repetitively rude staff. I had what I would call a reverse “Karen” experience, (apologies to all lovely ladies who are named Karen) where the employee was the rude aggressive person. I had an armful of books and wanted to continue to shop so asked if I could leave the books behind the check out desk, I was accused of trying to shoplift. Told I was not allowed to use my own shopping bag (canvas book bag I have taken to the book store for years that was actually purchased at a book store) then Followed around by JoeAnne (a key holder) and accused again of shop lifting while looking at books. All because I preferred to carry a bag to put my books in rather than a shopping basket, I explained I had back trouble and it was physically difficult to carry their basket because it put the center of gravity farther away from my body. joeAnne got super aggressive, wanted to know which bookstore I usually shopped at and where it was and then she got even ruder when she was unfamiliar with the location. The rudest staff I’ve ever encountered. All this while I was walking around with my six year old child, I then had to explain to her what shoplifting was, because the idea of taking something without paying for it had never crossed her mind and was a super foreign concept, because that is simply not the type of person I am nor how I raise my child. The whole experience was very upsetting. I will absolutely be avoiding this location and letting all of the other people I know how terrible the staff was here.

There are still chairs upstairs, but no longer tables to set your drink on upstairs, but still nice location.

You know I'm very much a introvert woman and the lady at the check out was the first person who's ever asked me questions like " what series are you reading now?"Honestly,it was a simple small gesture but it definitely took me by suprise and shocked me a bit that I was able to talk to someone face to face and nerd out . I really enjoyed that , I will definitely be returning . I value people who are fun

Exceptional customer service. Andrew, the store manager and their team is amazing staff went above and behind in helping me pick out some titles that were outside of my genre. I don't recall the name of all of the associates but please commend all of them and also the children's associate upstairs. I highly recommend this location as each staff is extremely knowledgeable. Please pass this review to corporate on a job well done.

Love just going in here to spend time looking around and reading. Plus the coffee shop inside is a great bonus. And I especially love all the cool Knick nacks on the displays waiting to checkout. If you are a high volume reader, I recommend purchasing into their reward program, you will save money.

Oh, I love this store! The staff are friendly and helpful. You want or need books, they have most everything you could want to read here. I got the newest Laurell K. Hamilton book for $25(originally $28, had a $3 off coupon on the book), and a few other cool reads as well. They're not the cheapest, but they usually have the better copies of series.

I'm torn. On one hand, I love the two-story open floor plan of this location and the store is quite large. They have frequent author events, which is great for the community. However, there are serious safety issues in the area. The hired security was very rude and intimidating, just because the store was closing, which I didn't realize at the time I walked in. I have heard a woman in the restroom having a mental health crisis, so the locked doors don't really do anything. And lastly, about a month ago I was in the store when a man sucker punched a customer in the back of the head as he walked through the doors. No employees bothered to say anything to any customers, didn't assure us that the police had been called or that it was safe to leave.

It's 90 degrees outside and yet it's so cool (without being cold) inside. Everything is always neat and the employees are always exceptionally helpful. I always feel like they actually care about my experience (which is rare at big corporate stores).

Barnes & Noble is still kicking despite less readers these days and this location is a breeze! With two stories, it’s still very easy to navigate, clean and even had an author event going on when we arrived! We love that they make it easy to find popular books or niche books and have comfy chairs throughout if you wanted to sample a chapter or two! Parking is also very easy at Northgate and free.

If you are willing to pay $8.10 for a 4-shot double latte, then this is the place for you. I am happy that people read books more than they play video games. As an author myself of seven books, it is somewhat disheartening. My heart goes out to all the devoted readers of non-fiction these days, especially, "Highliner--the Nature, Science and Philosophy of Automobile Driving," in additon to, "The Perfect God, "The 44," and "Agape--Ways of the Eternal Champion", followed soon by "Mini-handbook for the Spiritual Warrior" and "Handbook for the Spiritual Warrior" by Swan Starling, my pseudonym.
