This review is not about this specific branch but rather about BoW's loan department. I recently paid off my RV loan with BoW, and the experience could not have been worse - really, this was so, so bad. So incredibly frustrating and such incompetence. I spent two hours yesterday trying to figure out how to get the title to my RV - something I need in order to complete the sale - only to find out that three separate employees - including a supervisor - had given be bad information causing a three week delay. Now I need to wait another 6 weeks to get my title. Altogether so frustrating and disappointing. I will never bank or get another loan with BoW and wouldn't recommend that anyone work with them.

Do not bank here. My husband has had an account for over 15 years and yearly we deal with cyber theaft with this bank . My suspicion is they sell your information. They are of no help in trying for loan , its an endless game of " corporate " vs the "physical banking" 100% dissatisfied. Spent 3 years going in in person to get no help what so ever over the phone. ...we knew the guy by name . This is so disrespectful i can no longer keep quite. Go ahead to Case or Wellsforgo they are big banks for a reason. 10/10 suck factor...here is a pic of a mini tea set to help you understand how useless this bank is.

The banker I have to say only means a waste of time for customers. I had questions about my application for online banking, but they just told me call some number myself. I told them I already called before I visited here then they said they could do nothing more than what I could do. I asked for help with opening an account right away in branch, the banker named Max said I had to make an appointment in advance and refused to open it saying it would cost a lot of his time, but I was the only customer in the bank at that time. He said he could do nothing but very easy things, but for complicated ones like opening an account, I had to make an appointment....He spoke very fast trying to confuse ppl. His insolent and rude attitude gave ppl the impression bank of the west doesn't reall care about cumstomers at all. This was the first and last time dealing with Bank of the Worst.

I've never had any issues with BotW in California, but the level of service I originally received at this location isn't even worthy of one star. I've waited quite a while to leave this review to clear my head, but time hasn't healed my wounded opinion of this branch. My husband and I took time off and drove down to this branch to inquire about tax documents and some missing statements our lawyer requested for a family members estate that was in probate. We had already closed and cashed out the account in California but the accountant and probate referee needed more information about the account so we gathered our court appointed Letter of Administration, Certified Death Certificates, and account information which we had used previously with BotW and every other account we'd dealt with so far. Of course we had our personal identification as well and assumed it would be another easy request. We walked into the empty branch and were greeted by Max. We explained what we needed: copies of a few months of statements from the closed account and any reported documents from that tax year. I gave him the account number and everything started to go downhill. The account in question had been a rather large account, and this is when Max began openly eyeing us up and down. What we were wearing shouldn't matter, but it was obvious he was suspicious. Fine. I wasn't too worried by this point, the courts know we're entitled to this information, but Max seemed to feel he knew better. Personally I don't think this was a good call on his part, Washington is not so different than California in that many people work in tech or entertainment and may not always match your opinion of what you think their bank accounts would look like, but it was obvious he didn't believe us and he became very rude. First he told me that the account numbers I supplied weren't correct. After I explained again that we'd already closed and cashed out the account, insisting there must be some record or someone we could talk to, he got on the phone. While on the call he kept saying things like "it appears to be the original Letter of Administration" and "supposedly they are relatives of the account holder." As he's becoming ruder and ruder I'm questioning why he's being so hostile; it's not even an unreasonable request as I obviously already have any personal information or cash related to the account and I'm not even sure to this day why he was so suspicious! After ending the phone call he slides a telephone number to me that he's jotted down and says we'll have to get in contact with their legal department. I was shocked! This was probably the smallest cash account we'd dealt with for probate and everything had been going along just fine until now. However, Max wasn't done. To add insult to injury, when I explained this to him he openly mocked me, mimicking my mannerisms back to me! It was so unprofessional, BotW should be embarrassed for employing him. I gathered all of our legal documentation and identification and left. While I did reach out to BotW over social media and have them direct me to three contacts at the bank who gave us excellent service to rectify the issues, the fundamental problem is that this never should have escalated this way and if Max had just checked our IDs on our first visit we wouldn't have had to take time off to drive down and come in again. At least they had everything printed and were waiting in the lobby for our arrival so all we had to do is pick up the documents we'd requested. After some business cards and handshakes were exchanged, we had what we originally came for. Too bad they can't do anything to rectify the two PTO days they wasted and all of the hostility we (a grieving family) didn't deserve. But we were disappointed to see Max's jacket over a chair. I'm still rolling my eyes at Max not checking our IDs. It's pretty much step one of any banking interactions. Needles

I have had Bank of the West for years. They were at one time very good.... I had my first Business Loan from them over 12 years ago, but used them over 20 years. The last 2 years have been TERRIBLE. Customer service is fragmented. Staffing at branches has gone down... I had to order a debit card 3 month's ago for one of my managers. Had to order it 3 times!!! Just never came, I would check every 2 weeks, and aways the same confused look on faces, and hmmm.... "let me order it again for you" answers.... I am promised calls back about it... NEVER happen. About 2.5 years ago, one of my managers used their petty cash c.c. too much, and it caused some overdrafts... Bank of the west will keep paying the ammount... even little charges like $6.78 for a tool, BUT then they will charge you $35.00 OVERDRAFT fee!!! Soooo... 2 years ago I went rounds about it, and if course nothing wss done, except for the manager to "take care of it" saying that from now on if it happened again, the card would stop, and not go into the "overdraft protection scam... umm... I mean service". So...all is good for 2 years, then it happened again. Manager used petty cash card for a large purchase by mistake causing the card to go over draft. So... you guessed it... overdraft protection scam kicks in happily paying the overdrafts with an extra charge of 35 dollars for each one...by the time they MAIL you a notice, there are 13 other small charges that go through... so... yep, over 500 DOLLARS IN OVERDRAFT FEES!!! I call, and of course blow a gasket, and am told... oh, let me talk to some "managers", but it is pretty hard to get that reversed... and NO NOTES IN THE SYSTEM ABOUT IT HAPPENING 2 YEARS AGO.... This bank is done. I am removing my 4 accounts, and my 100 thousand dollars and going to a bank that appreciates me......

I had already filled out all the paper work online and then went into a branch in the city to fund my new account only to find out that could not find my application. The rep went into the back and I was left sitting alone for 30+ minutes when someone else came out and told me that she (the rep) was on hold with the main office and asked if I could wait a little longer, to which I said okay. 30+ MORE minutes later I was told that they could not find my application and I would have to go back online (at home), fill out another application and then come back in ! They NEVER even asked if I would like to open up an account while I was there. I had one gentleman come up to me and he was VERY nice and polite and did apologize. I THINK he was the manager, but I don't remember and Bank of the West has lost a new customer with new money. I think I know why Bank of the West only has one location in Seattle.
