This is on my way to work, and I stopped by because recently, I had developed pain walking to work on concrete pavement. Mike was awesome on analyzing the impact on my current insole, looking at my current shoes and how I stood, to make a recommendation which I hope will deliver results for the long term. He gave me a 15% discount and offered to tweak the insole in a week if needed. Ah, mom-n-pop stores!

The shoe selection here is 5 stars if you are looking for comfort shoes that are high quality. This has been my favorite shoe store in Seattle for years -- I stop by often as I walk between downtown and Cap Hill. I went last week and I don't think I'll go back.This was the 3rd or 4th time I've been helped by a woman with blondish/ reddish hair and I just find interactions with her unpleasant in that fake nice/overly helpful/kinda pushy sort of way. This time when I asked the price she said "oh, and 10% off" when she had just told another person a few minutes ago that shoes were 15% off. When I said, "I think you mean 15%" she said "Oh yeah I forgot." Uh, really? That was the final straw. I think I'm done.

I have had trouble with my feet since I was a boy of 12 having to deal with Arch Supports,...now known as orthodics. I have had plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma and arthritis in my toes and another foot problem that causes pain that defies diagnosis. Fifteen years ago a Podiatrist recommended a certain NB shoe, 328 or something, that literally cured my PF. NB stopped making that shoe and I was bummed. I have not had a truly comfortable shoe since then. I limped into Anderson with my worn out Hokas and Valerie instantly knew what was wrong. She brought out a few different shoes and size combinations and found a miracle for me. They adjusted my off the shelf shoe orthodic slighty and put me in a pair of New Balance. Normally when I am on my feet for more than 3 hours I can't wait to get out of my shoes. I wore these all day that day and all day the three following days. When I got home last night I didn't want to take my shoes off they were so comfortable. I will never buy shoes anywhere else again. These people know how to fit you into the right shoe and they make custom orthodics. They took impressions of my feet and I can't wait to get them. It makes a world of difference having professionals fit you in shoes, especially Andersons where they have a focus on solving foot problems with the shoe selection to match, compared to minimum wage employees at the mall. I do not recommend this store. I was told my orthotics would take five weeks. But after six weeks, they had not even started on them. Two phone calls later, I was told that whoever told me it would take five weeks was wrong - Andy, long-time owner of the store told me this. This new person said it takes EIGHT weeks. He said there were still 100 people ahead of me - after six weeks?! Obviously, this store is short of workers and cannot keep up with the work load - or it is poorly managed. I suspect both. If you value your time, don't go here!

Went into the little shoe store just to browse. Noticed they sell hoka shoes which was nice. The lady greeted us did not get out of her seat, continued on her phone same time trying to talk to us. But not paying attention. The next couple people came in, she immediately stood up and asked what they were looking for I was disappointed. I do not try to write negative reviews. Note to the wise greet everyone! Found my home she’s elsewhere. They lost I found!

They can make custom orthotics here and have an awesome selection of shoes for people with wide, flat feet!!!

My girlfriend and I were in Seattle on vacation and both needed new shoes. We found Andersons and I can say with ease this was the best shoe experience I have ever had. Mike was very knowledgeable and quickly got me shoes that fit well and were my style. I'll be making sure to give them my business even though I'm not from around here. My feet, knees, and back have never felt better so fast just from a great fitting pair of shoes. For reference I'm 385 pounds so a good pair of shoes does a lot for me. Highly recommend going here for your future shoe needs.

Came here looking for a new pair of Hokas, and the staff was SO helpful. Not only did I find what I need, the woman with dark hair did some digging online and called the manufacturer to see if they had them in the color I liked. Such a fantastic experience, I will for sure be back!

I had a bad pain in my heel and the staff was so friendly and helpful they got me into a great pair of shoes and my pain was almost immediately gone!!!

I wish I'd come here sooner. I spent too much money on shoes and insoles trying to figure out my foot issue. Mike identified my issue quickly and suggested (and I bought) perfect insoles and bought new gym shoes. Absolute game changer!

I needed comfortable good looking shoes for an event. The guy who was helping me gave my feet a total work up and picked out a great pair for me- really they look amazing (much better looking than in this picture) and they were comfortable all night. He also assisted me with some walking shoes and suggested inserts based on his findings. He provided excellent customer service and is very skilled in his field. Go when it's not busy.

The staff and owners of Anderson's are so knowledgeable about comfort footwear and thoughtful about the health and happiness of feet! They make extremely comfortable custom orthotics and were even enthusiastic about taking my old, custom orthotics (from my podiatrist) fit better and cushion places that were causing me pain. I would never expect this free ofcharge, but that's exactly what happened. They now have a customer for life.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. On one side I love it. Only place in Seattle to get the shoes I need and customize the soles. The guy is great and some of the staff are helpful. But the older lady, blondish, who works there can seem a bit entitled/judgemental or know it all about customers needs and I go in there knowing what I need. It would be better to have a less forceful approach and make polite suggestions instead of make me feel bad for knowing what I need and asking for it. Some people have very specific chronic conditions, and you don't walk in these shoes... So.. ya know...
