I was a bit hesitant going with the company due to reviews I've read but I decided I wanted to experience SixT before jumping to conclusions.I purchased the car rental with SixT through Expedia and was already worried this would be an issue. When I got to the counter, Ismail helped me out and he was very kind and the process was quick.I picked up the car and due to everyone commenting the company is known to claim there are damages to the car after being returned, I did take a video before leaving the rental area. I took another video after dropping the car off as well.I had a BMW as a rental, which the car was overall good. It drove nicely and looked well kept.I waited until I received my receipt invoice before making an honest review so I could see if there would be any discrepancy between what I've already paid and what they billed me.Everything looked good and I was not charged for anything I shouldn't be charged for.I had a a great experience from pick up to drop off and I will gladly give the company another go. I will be honest, previous reviews almost stirred me away but I really had to just experience the company for my self and see how it is. Overall, it was a fast and easy experience. Thank you!

I've been renting cars for over 40 years.I decided to try SIXT car rental in Charlotte NC.I rented a 2022 BMW X3 ( which is the same car I have at home, so that both my wife and I could drive it easily during our trip) .We preregistered all our information, so that we could just take the car ( which was advertised as their extra service . )However it took over an hour and 15 minutes at the counter waiting for any car to be ready. It took over 20 minutes just to reenter all my information into the system; their scanners didn't work trying to read my (very readable) license. After we drove off in the car we realized multiple issues:1. The car had not been oil changed in more than 15,000 miles and oil warning lights were on. 2. Additionally one front tire was at 60 psi and the other front tire was at 22 psi , which also had flashing warning signs about braking issues. I pulled over into a gas station to find a pump and fix both air pressure issues. Very unsafe !3. In the BMW you have to go through a series of button presses every time you start the car before you can begin the car after a warning. Very annoying . 4. Then when we turned on the air conditioning after a few minutes, we realized that this car had been used by a heavy smoker; this car was supposed to be in smoke free.5. The car was not cleaned and had trash under the back seat.6. Also there are multiple dents and a large 3 foot discoloration stain in the back seat . I photographed everything as evidence.7. Since I have the same BMW X3 at home, I noticed the car did not accelerate correctly, it stalled and bucked ( engine/ transmission issues ) That night back at the hotel we called SIXT car rental and was put on hold at least five times; it was over two hours spent on the phone with multiple representatives. Many times after speaking with a representative, I had to repeat myself the entire story over again; four of the customer services representatives simply hung up on me.There was no apology and no offer of swapping out the carAfter I got back home I requested a $100 refund for my $250 rental. After multiple more hours on the phone Sixt finally relented but only offered me $100 "voucher".I told them I did not want a voucher, but rather a reasonable $100 refund, ( as will never rent from Sixt car rental again.) Sixt is not "different kind of car company", they're just scam artists. Please, please , please ......save yourself the aggravation.... DO NOT rent from Sixt.

Like many of the others here, I was also given a fraudulent charge several days after returning the car. They charged me an extra $240 for a 7 day rental for the "damage waiver" which I had specifically refused at the time of pickup. I have never bought the damage waiver on dozens of car rentals as I am a very safe driver and have had zero accidents in 45 years of driving. I sent emails requesting this charge be removed. Could not find a phone number to call. This is clearly a well used scam by this company, preying on unsuspecting consumers. Had my credit card company file this as fraud and now have to get a new card. Having rented dozens of cars over the years, I have never experienced this type of blatantly fraudulent behavior. I will refer this company to the Dept of Commerce as it seems clear they are intent on ripping off the US consumer.

The reservation wasn't as easy as we thought it was. The customer service guy was nice at first but wasn't listening to anything anyone had to say.. Had to pay another payment that we already paid online for. Requested a car and received something completely different. Even though we had all the evidence for all of this we still didn't get what we wanted.

At first I had doubts about booking with Sixt because of all the people claiming that they accuse them of damaging the rentals. I usually rent with Alamo, and never had an issue. Overall, I liked the experience I had with them. No long lines at the counter and drop off was smooth. The employee at the counter did try to push me for the add on, but backed off when I said no. One thing the company needs to work on is giving the invoice the same day someone returns the car. For me, it took them 3 days to send the invoice. This leaves a lot of room for error and possibly accusing the costumer of damage. Who knows where the cars been for those 3 days. As always record the car when you pick it up and drop it off for a peace of mind. Overall a solid company/location to rent from.

Surprise Administrative FeeI rented from SIXT in Boston and brought my own transponder to pay the many tolls in Boston. I told the rental agent this was my plan and he didn't say this would be a problem. SIXT neglected to disable their transponder which picked up all of the tools even though my transponder was in the car. I have no problem paying the tolls, but the $25 administrative fee is unreasonable. After several emails back and forth, SIXT charged my credit card for the full amount and essentially said go pound sand.

Renting a car from SixT was a breeze, thanks to Ismail. His warm welcome and efficient handling of the rental process were impressive. He quickly got me set up with my vehicle, offering helpful tips along the way. Ismail's friendly and professional demeanor made the experience pleasant and stress-free. His attention to detail and quick service were truly commendable. A standout experience!

TLDR: TAKE PICTURES. They will say you caused damage you didn't. CALL THEM. You'll be on hold forever but will actually get somewhere once someone answers. Absolutely not. Now, the rental process and the man that helped us at the counter were two positives. For the not so positive. I received an email a few days after returning my rental, saying I had scratched it. I attempted to respond to the email several times asking for pictures, more information, etc. to which they never responded. Over a week later, and they send me an estimate for the damages. This finally included a photo of the damage. A photo of the damage that was there prior to me renting the vehicle in the first place. I sent a return email stating I had pictures that show the damage was done prior. No response. I finally had to call, wait on hold for almost an hour, and then finally talk to a representative. He was nice, and ultimately threw out the claim because I had picture proof that the scratch was there prior to my rental. They will try to scam you any way they can.

Went to pick up the car I booked and no one was there! I waited a half hour past the pick up time. I needed to leave and get on the road so I had to rent from Enterprise. After requesting a refund - Expedia told me that Sixt DENIED it. That is THEFT! NEVER RENT!!! Reporting to BBB.

Rented a car from here for a trip and the service was incredible. The gentleman at the pick up counter was very friendly, picking up the car was super easy and dropping off was very easy and quick. Unfortunately i left some headphones in the trunk at drop off and didnt realize it until i was already past security, i submitted a claim and after a month and losing hope, the supervisor named Melissa, was able to locate them and called me personally!!!!All in all, the car, the professionalism at the counter, and the fact that Melissa went above and beyond in locating the item that I lost makes me a fan for life! Thank you so much!

Got more than I expected. Fantastic experience. Great selection of vehicles. First time driving a new BMW at a great rate and service. The staff were professional and friendly. If you're looking for a rental in the future, I highly recommend this location to anyone on the move.

Should easily be 4-5 stars. Great service all around and faster processing than competitors. One major protocol flaw however: there was no pre departure inspection process to note condition of vehicle before you leave. Everyone does this. In my case, I took photos of fender damage and prepared to mention on check out, but also no check out attendant available other than security who just lifts the gate. Strange. Will see what happens when I return vehicle. Overall, great but: Be aware folks.

I had a great experience at SeaTac airport. Rene the agent I worked with, was great. He was friendly and answered my questions. The process was fast, and the car that I received was well beyond my expectations. It was so great that I had them double check to make sure I received the right car. I would definitely rent them again.

I was in Chicago in October 2022. I was "caught" by a camera for speeding. I had absolutely no idea... I was new to the area.March 30, 2023 I receive an email from Sixt demanding that I pay the $35 ticket- no problem. I paid it directly to city of Chicago. BUT they are also asking for a $40 administrative fee because I didn't pay the ticket on time. What???? How can I pay for something when I don't know I owe it! They never notified me.Now they are threatening me. I wonder if most people pay without questioning? I have notified the Better Business Bureau and have found out there are roughly 2,000 complaints!!!!

At Sea-Tac on Labor Day weekend, it would have been nice if they had more staff. Otherwise the staff they had was friendly and helpful but there were so many people in line and 3 staff members just couldn't help all these people quickly enough. Once I got my car it was quick and easy to locate my car and return was super easy, although I did not get details on pick up as to where I was to return my car and whether I needed to just leave my keys, so that would have been helpful information to impart upon pick up of the car.
