We had to walk about 15 min from baggage claim to get to the rental car shuttle bus to be driven over to the rental car facility. The bus ride was fine, and they helped with loading and unloading our luggage onto and off the bus.
We used budget as our rental car agency. The lines were long, and only 3 cust reps to help check everyone in. We finally got our car 25 min later and exited the rental car facility towards our hotel. The exit area out of budget was narrow, and you had to drive more slowly until you entered the driving lane to exit the car rental building. The exit once you reached the main roadway, was just a stop sign. Turning right would have been easier. Turning left was much more dangerous due to the busy traffic on the road way. It took a few minutes before we were able to safely exit to go towards our hotel. When we returned the car, the gps gave the wrong entry area, but we were able to ignore those directions and enter where we needed to and return the car to the budget car return area. Again, the entrance into the return area was narrow, and you had to drive slowly so you wouldn't hit the barrier walls.
The bus ride back to the airport went smoothly, but the walk to our gate was about 20 minutes from the drop-off location.
I don't know if there would be anything that could be done to make this drop off more expedient. You just really have to allow extra time when returning the vehicle and getting through the tsa precheck. Even with precheck status, there was a long line to get thru security and to our gate. The non clear/tsa precheck was 3x a long a line. Remember to be patient at this airport.

Very happy with the whole process of getting to the facility and so thankful they were still open at 1 am after my flight was delayed 2 & 1/2 hours. Thank you William at Sixt for your help.

Lines.... lines... and more lines. They could use better systems to get traveler's in their rentals and out doing what they want to do instead of standing in a line waiting for someone to do their job.

Good place to come over for all rentals near Seatac airport. Free rental car shuttle to and from Seatac. I used it few times, might be tough if someone has more baggage. We can take it in shuttle though.

Returned a car to SeaTac. Hundreds of people waiting for the shuttle ahead of me. I was two hours ahead of my flight departure time. Fortunately there was a guy with a large van who was shuttling people to the terminal for $5 a head, otherwise I don’t know if I would have made my flight (Pre-Check security once at the terminal took almost another half hour).
