By all accounts Mike runs a great retail/custom build shop, so my experience turning in a Marlin 1897 to repair may be atypical. Mike passed it to a friend to do the work, and I never got an update on the process without me reaching out to ask for one. Even then, only about half of my emails (~1/yr) received replies. I don't know when they determined it was unrepairable, as it took three emails over as many years before I got a response. Mike himself was polite when I went to recover the gun and gave me a free soft case. TL;DR: Nice place, but YMMV with communication on long-lead time repairs.

First time buyer at Palmer, first time AR builder too. Mike set me up, answered all my newbie questions patiently, sold me stuff that all worked together right off the bat. It's good to have a pro in your corner. I watched the Aero assembly video and 2 hours later, my new toy was ready to go. You can do it, Mike can help.

I have got to give MAJOR props to Mike Palmer for his AMAZING customer service, and attention to detail, while working in an "emergency" cerakote on my Glock 21 slide. From the first call I made to him to the next day pick up, EVERYTHING was a smooth transaction! He went out of his way to take care of me when he really had no obligation to do so. Came in today for the first time and loved it. Staff was very friendly, quick and helpful. I will definitely be back. They seemed to be able to get things ordered fast and seemed very attention to detail. You can tell they are passionate about what they do and night and day treatment/service between them vs other local stores.

I purchased a shotgun in August of 2021 and I have received no word on it since the purchase. I've called twice, once 6 weeks after purchase and again 9 weeks after. I was told on both occasions that they were very busy and assured that they would let me know as soon as the item came in.I have little faith that I will be receiving the shotgun.

Horrible FFL service as of 4 Jan 2021. Mike has had a rifle for over 5 weeks now and keeps giving partial or misleading information to the shipper. And he will not even provide the Tracking Number. He rarely answers the phone, and infrequently returns calls. This experience has been frustrating to say the least, and leaves me wondering if he will ever ship the item.
