It's like pulling teeth to get help here, they probably won't say hello or anything when you walk in. The manager isn't any better he is usually conducting personal business while on the floor. Last time I came in I walked around while employees played guitar and talked to each other. Honestly I dread when I have to come in for these reasons. So if you want to be treated like you don't belong come on in. Sweetwater is better and it's sad when a shop states and states away seems to care more than my local family owned woman ran business.

I took my 12 string Takamine Gseries in for string and bridge pin replacement I was amazed with the quality of work done by Ted Browns Guitar guy, Andy; he even cleaned the guitar so it looks like a brand new guitar. Thank you for your hard work; it truly feels like a new guitar. Everyone was super friendly and had an answer to all my questions, from guitar pick types to different styles of guitars.

I am 47 and have not touched a violin since a kid. I recently picked one up on sale. It was out of tune so I messaged Tim Brown Music on there chat service. Thinking it was expensive I wanted some quotes. Boy was I surprised when they immediately texted me back that it was free and to come on in. I nervously entered the store to try to get my violin tuned. I was met first by an amazing lady, by the string instruments, who is able to find somebody to tune it within a few seconds of my arrival. She also was able to help me with a lot of questions and steer me to the products I needed. Within minutes one person became three and I had the most amazing Customer service squad I have ever encountered. They were able to tune my instrument. Also help me remove a broken piece that was inside and set me up To have that piece replaced for a price that I could not believe. Between the service and the prices this place is like a Hometown music store from when I was a kid They were even able to take me back to a room so I could check out my violin now that it was tuned. That way I would not Embarrass myself, since it has been over 30 years since I played a violin. The best part is, they were able to set me up with an amazing violin to use while mine is in the shop. But the best part of the entire experience was, they were kindly able to inform me that I had actually bought a viola Instead of a violin. They did not make me feel like I was stubborn or uneducated. They just helped me learn the differences and said it was a honest mistake. So now I have a violin and a viola to practice on once it returns from service. I never go anywhere else for my musical needs. This place is like being around friends.

Apparently they don't need or want my business. I called 5 months ago to set up getting my son's band instrument serviced and was told to bring it in today when they got out of school for Winter Break and it would be done in about a week. I came in to drop it off and was told it was a minimum of three weeks, and they were really too busy anyway. Wow! You'd think 5 months notice would get you on a list or something, but no, I was told there would be another charge to "expedite" service if I wanted to be sure my son had his instrument when school resumes in January. I realize they may not have much competition here, but I am shocked at how rudely I was just treated and will be looking for alternatives now. It would have been easy for the staff member to see if they could wave the "expedite" fee since this drop-off was arranged so long ago and the information I was given by an employee of this business was false.

VERY disappointed with my experience getting my electric guitar worked on. Brought my guitar in to get new tuners, nut, pickups, pots and strings installed. While communication was mostly good my guitar was in their hands for 3 months when I was told it would take 2 weeks. When it was ready, I went in to get it and to say I got sticker shock is an understatement....the total cost for work on my guitar was over $600. While I was pretty mad, I just paid it and left. Got home to test it out and had to open the back up and reinsert battery wires for pickups, tighten screws to pickups and 2 of the tuners, had to pull off knobs and tighten bolts on the pots as well as the output jack. This experience has left a horrible taste in my mouth, honestly cannot recommend.

Very friendly staff and the prices aren't too bad (they will price match with Sweetwater) too. Be aware that coming here on the weekends can be a little hectic but the staff will still take the time to make sure you're doing okay.Although if you order an instrument and have it get shipped to the store, be a little cautious. Awhile ago, I ordered a 3/4 bass and had it get shipped to the store. When I got there, the staff wasn't able to locate the bass until they realized they accidentally put it out on display with the other basses lol. I was told the bass was inspected and set it, but that wasn't the case because I had to do some adjustments myself (very low action)

The employees are rude. Negatively commented on my appearance for no reason.

Stood in the store for 15 minutes nobody was available to help me they were all busy having conversations about whatever they were talking about with each other. This is not the place to go if you have questions or if you need advice.

I had Bob work on my Big Baby Taylor Acoustic guitar and adjusted the neck height, tuned up the action. He is AMAZING! Reasonable price and just made me feel like I had a new guitar. He is so good at what he does and I would HIGHLY recommend. Wow.

Ted Brown Music is a great place to go for all your music needs! We have rented instruments from them for many years. Around $30 a month. We have purchased items for trumpet, viola, violin and drumming. When our kids were older we purchased the instruments they had learned to play. We also had our 60 year old saxophone refurbished. Nice staff. Very knowledgeable
