You need to go to the Terrarium Bar!The terrarium & activity bar provides the space, inspiration, supplies & guidance to bring your leafiest visions to life with a large selection of terrarium plants, glass, & accessories to choose from.Seriously one of the best dates I’ve ever planned has been at the Urban Sprouts Store, in historic downtown Renton.

Very helpful staff! They were present but not pushy. The selection and health of the plants is the best I’ve seen in a while. A date night here for a plant care class would be an absolute dream!

This business has disappointed me time after time. They have a "plant clinic" which people bring their sick and potentially infested plants to be nurtured back to health. They do not quarantine these plants from any other plants in their store. Their store is relatively small so that means any plant purchased their or left under their care is susceptible to infestation of pests from surrounding plants. They also do not handle the plants with care. I left an anthurium queen with 27" leaves under their care and the person handling it folded the leaf on itself, placing the pot over the leaf. the unbelievable amount of frustration this business has caused me and the replies I got from the owners regarding my issues with them have been less than helpful. I wish I never walked into this business. I would not recommend this establishment even to my enemies. If you want to infest all your plants with gnats and spend months battling them with sticky traps and pesticides this store is your opportunity to do so. You only have to pay hundreds of dollars to do it and it only costs your sanity in the process. It is a shame because the plant community generally consists of the kindest, most humble people and this is a poor representation of that.

Every time I come in here everybody is so nice and helpful, they have the cutest additions to add to your plant friend’s space. They also have lots of accessories and fun things to look at throughout the store that is always changing ?

*BUYER BEWARE*I attended the Bonsai Terrarium class with my husband and son as a Christmas gift. We were so excited to learn about how to plant and grow our Bonsais! The teachers were very informative and helpful. The store itself was beautiful and made the experience that much more special. Everything was so fun until the end of the class. We noticed as people were cleaning up they were told to bring their items to the cashier for check out. When it was our turn to leave they scanned all of the items we used and pleasantly said "Your total is $500". WHAT?! When the cashier saw my reaction she said "We can set you up for monthly payments". Like I'm at a car dealership or something. This was a total surprise to us. At no time during the class was it mentioned that ALL of the supplies used (including the bonsai) were a separate charge. There also was 2 separate times that I asked one of the teachers if items were part of the class and she said yes! There was definitely upselling as I was brought sand, rocks and even a fish to put in my terrarium. Needless to say we felt completely scammed and sucker punched. To top it off the next day there was water all over my table as my terrarium leaked! I will say that there is one line in the description of the class that says "Your booking fee covers your instruction fee plus a $10 credit to use towards your supplies used!" However, it was never mentioned again during the class. Also, when I went to my confirmation email there are no additional details explaining what to expect. It just said I purchased 3 tickets. I definitely think they could do a better job of informing customers on costs. As much as I wanted to support a small local business this left a bad impression on me and my family. I will be returning to the shop but it is only so they can repair my terrarium as they will not give a refund.I am giving 2 stars because the class was informative and fun! The transparency and integrity of the business could definitely improve.*UPDATE*Changed to 1 star due to all 3 of our bonsais now being infested with bugs!!! I had to move them away from my other plant so it didn't spread. SO FRUSTRATING!!! I was supposed to go back to the store and have them fix my terrarium as it leaked all over my kitchen table. I am so upset with all of this that I don't even want to go back. I'm afraid I'll be triggered. Buy your plants at Grocery Outlet! You'll get price transparency, great customer service and healthy plants for less than $10!

When we walked into the store, we were greeted graciously. Josiah helped us build a water terrarium and added a couple of snails some rockery and plants. It was a wonderful experience and a very relaxing atmosphere. He was very informative on how to take care of it, and suggested the right plants to go into the glass jar that I had brought in which was an odd shaped jar. It’s sitting in my kitchen window at the moment until the weather warms up. Josiah seemed very relaxed, and looked like he was having fun doing what he does best. The time and care he put into this project is priceless. Thank you Josiah and Urban Sprouts. We will be back.
