Highly recommend this organization. My family applied for homeownership and we are in the beginning of the process of finding out if we move to selection pool or not. They have been so responsive, patient with my questions, and really helpful! They really do want you to succeed, and truly want to help people. Even if we don't get selected, I would still recommend this to others to try!

I had an electric reclining leather couch in good condition that I hoped to donate. It was well cleaned and we took efforts to disassemble for easy transportation. They claimed it smelled and the leather was severely damaged. While I respect their right to reject donations, they should have been able to tell from the pictures (sent in advanced) the leather was in fact NOT severely damaged so it was a weird thing to claim later when I called. The only thing I can think of re: scent would be cleaning products? It just felt like I waited a long time to have someone get the couch, spent effort cleaning and disassembling just for them and then they had really weird/nonsensical reasons for not picking up. Felt like the person on the phone could have explained better in a nicer way. Would recommend donating elsewhere.

Being a Family Support Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County is very rewarding. I was matched with a delightful family and feel very honored to support this hardworking mom of two kids in the process of becoming a Habitat homeowner.With the high costs of housing in our region, I am so grateful for Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County.

I’ve volunteered with Habitat for Humanity on a number of occasions, and the people as well as the environment are pleasant. My mom has also volunteered, more so than me, as we are future home owners who are terribly excited to have a place to settle for good. Wonderful people and organization to work with.

I can't put into words how much Habitat has done for me. Being a single black woman with no children, trying to buy property seemed like a goal that I would never achieve. Being able to see the process of my home getting built and also working in my unit has been so impactful to me.All the staff - both at the office & Habitat stores have been so helpful and nice to work with! I can't wait to see what the future holds for me once I move into my unit!*Below are some of the pictures from the Lake City dedication*

This organization is making dreams come true! My family is a lucky recipient of the wonderful services this organization provides. After moving to the Seattle area during the pandemic, my wife was laid off, and as a single income household we were really struggling to find a home in Seattle. We found out about a wonderful townhouse unit they were building in Loyal Heights, we applied, and with the help of their friendly staff we were approved for a beautiful house in a great neighborhood. Their whole organization is a testament to what is possible when kind hearted people, work with the community to achieve great things.

What we as parents wanted was to provide a safe and stable place for our children 5 and 2 year old. Growing family, increasing cost of living and with our income, it was hard for us to move out of one bedroom apartment. Now with the Habitat for Humanity program, we can afford a 3 bedroom townhouse in the City of Seattle! The process of applications - the initial application, selection, orientation - moved fast so we did not have to wait wondering what would happen. Office staff, Habitat store staff are all nice and welcoming. I am truly thankful for this program and for all those who are making this happen!

It has been a great experience getting to know and partnering with Habitat for Humanity. The staff have all been really kind and supportive throughout the process. I wasn't sure what to expect in the beginning when I started volunteering, but the staff at the office, stores, and constructions sites have all been incredibly welcoming. I was particularly nervous volunteering at the construction sites as I have no prior experience, but the staff and AmeriCorps leaders have all been very patient and happy to teach - and it has even been fun! I'm so glad they're actively building with more projects lined up for King County - affordable housing is greatly needed in Seattle. Thank you Habitat for bringing affordable housing opportunities to Seattle!

Five stars for Habitat of Humanity in Seattle and King County! My family was given the incredible opportunity to buy a home through them, and through the volunteer work we have done at their construction sites and stores- we have met and worked with some of the nicest people. Additionally Habitat has made the process of buying our home smooth and are always there to answer questions and guide us along the way. I hope to continue volunteering with this incredible company for many years to come.

Habitat of King County and Seattle is Incredible! I seriously can’t speak highly enough for them. They have made the process of home owning go from impossible to real and have been there by our side every step of the way. The office staff (shout out to Evelyn and Blanca!) are so helpful and kind, they answer all of our questions and have been such an incredible support system on our journey to home owning. I give 5 stars for Habitat for their excellent affordable housing program. With Habitat homeowner program, I am able to buy my dream house at the price that I can afford. I encourage a mid income households to apply the homeowner program with Habitat. I enjoy doing volunteer work especially at the construction site where I learn how to use power tool. Wish all the best to Habitat team!

It has been a wonderful experience partnering with Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity has provided an opportunity for me to purchase a home at an affordable price to provide stability for my children and I. I am beyond grateful that my children and I are apart of the Habitat for Humanity community. Homeownership has always been a goal of mine and through Habitat for Humanity, I am making that dream happen. Learning about construction has also been a highlight!!!
