Dr. Majesky is a wonderful vet. She is so kind and gentle in her approach to all my pets. Highly recommend this place. The staff and the other vets are all great.

Update – 14July 2024
This is my OPINION based upon events/perceptions.
Due to unexpected personally painful circumstances, I am sad for updating this review. We cannot share with you how disappointed we are. You know from my numerous reviews, I have not modified a 5-star review to 1-star.
This is not suggesting you go somewhere else, rather it is what happened to us.
We moved to WA from AZ 4 years ago the references/initial contact with Cedar River Animal Hospital (CRAH) were positive. So, we utilized CRAH for our beloved dog. We believed we had established a mutually beneficial long-term bond of trust like our AZ vet and other medical provider relationships.
On 10th of June, she went for her yearly physical. We were advised that she was in good health for an older dog but needed to lose a couple of pounds. She was given a rabies immunization and simparica trio. We are not keen on new medications and that was shared with the vet. At that time, we were not advised by CRAH of potential negative side effects of this combination. After a few days of traveling, she developed strange behavior and neurological side effects. She was a different dog. We were advised to check simparica reviews. During our research, we became genuinely concerned.
Upon our return, we contacted CRAH for an appointment. Our view, the front desk showed little empathy for an existing patient who clearly was experiencing negative side effects from a prescription from a CRAH vet. We were told that nothing was available until after the week 4th of July, take her to an ER. We stated our dog was an established patient and asked for a vet to see her or contact me. A few hours later (once again) no time, go to an ER. Having had negative experiences with ERs, we declined. After these discussions, we heard nothing.
We needed to do something. Fortunately, we located a wonderful vet who was busy but willing to fit her in. Upon examination, we were surprised to find they discovered a heart murmur. They concurred with the reviews we located via Google AI regarding simparica. While it may be ok for some, simultaneously giving a rabies shot and simparica was NOT recommended for older animals. They continued with a detailed evaluation and recommended an x-ray. A blood test was given. Results were she had blood of a much younger animal.
A radiologist read her x-ray - it showed malignant, pervasive lung cancer and due to her age, there was nothing we could do. We were shocked and saddened. We were hoping to get a few more months of love with her. Sadly, she passed in our home on 5th July @2am. We were heartbroken.
Reasons for1-star.
1. No professional courtesy
We believe that at a minimum a medical pro should have taken time to see her or contacted us, especially since they just did her physical and prescribed simparica and knowing there was an issue.
2. Lack of a sense of urgency
We communicated that she could be dead by the time they could see her. We never received a professional response, rather go somewhere else we are too busy.
3. Lack of focus
They did not take the time to realize the potential implication of giving a rabies immunization and simparica. Simparica might work for some, it did not for her.
4.We are unclear how CRAH missed the signs of serious issues.
Especially when a new vet who saw her for the 1st time - found immediately multiple serious issues that led to an x-ray, which led to a malignant cancer diagnosis.
In closing, we have never had a vet/doctor ignore us when we called suggesting there was serious health issue from prescribed medications.
We have shared our opinion via email directly to CRAH. We hope CRAH will take corrective action to address their internal procedures.
As of today, 14 July, we have received nothing. Frankly, we do we want any excuses.
This situation was/continues to be disappointing/heartbreaking as we have lost our beloved dog.

Really liked this vet at first. Prices skyrocketed over the last couple of years. My dog had terminal cancer and I had questions, they wouldn’t let me just talk to the vet or email them. Every time I would try to ask a question, the front desk would tell me I had to make an appointment and pay an $80 deposit…just for me to ask the vet a quick question. I felt like the bedside manner of the front desk was terrible when I was going through my dogs cancer and death. Needless to say, I am getting a new vet for my other dog. I’m so incredibly disappointed in what this office turned into.

Brought in a friend's pup for a routine shot. The clinic is clean, the staff are all friendly, the cost was reasonable, and the dogs were all well taken care of.

Not happy with the reception desk attitude. Seems like they are too “busy” to take care of their customers well.

They took me half hour waiting for nothing while my reservation was made and I was in a hurry. And I asked questions and nobody ever told me anything until someone came from inside. The receptionist people made my experience really bad and wasted my time when I was really in a hurry.

My daughter used to have this clinic care for her animals. I often brought them in and paid for their care. Over the years I have often recommended them to friends. No more.

My wife and I have left Cedar River too many times frustrated, upset, angry and now this most recent time in tears. Completely unfair to put ourselves and our animals through this.

Would you use a pediatrician that refused to see your kids if they were sick or hurt?Vets are not supposed to be "fair weather health consultant" for your pet. Urgent care is part of the job......a big part....I grew up on a farm, when an animal was in jepordy no matter what, no matter when, the vet always show up! even in the middle of the night. They were like some sort of super hero, they always came through, not for you... but for the animal. We have used this Vetenary practice for many years, post Covd they have demonstrated an appaling lack of care and concern for our animals. And a total lack of compassion....In a developing urgent care situation they refuse to see yor animal. What is the point of a vet who will only provide care during the "easy times" we have been turned away several times with a pet in serious distress (once when we had an appointment the day before for an injury that worsened the next day and became an emergency situation. They told us to go to Blue Pearl or make another appointment when they had an open slot ....IN FIVE DAYS!) They clearly have no intrest in practicing veterinary medicine, they only want to give shots and anual exams.... Go somewhere else, you will regret having this vet when you need somebody you can count on, when there`s a real problem........we do.....

We've had our dog and cat coming here for over a couple of years now, and always have had the best experience, both in the way we were treated and the way our pets are treated. I'd like to really thank all the doctors and techs here for taking care of our family. We know by your actions that they are as important to you as they are to us.

Dr. Nichols no longer there. Just not the same. Dr. Nicholas is the best veterinarian I have ever taken any of my dogs to. His rapport with my dogs shows that he truly loves animals and is a funny and lighthearted person. My dogs gravitated to him like he was a Greenie and neither showed any fear of him at all because of his demeanor. We will continue to be a fan of Cedar River Animal Hospital!

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!Today I took my dog in for a yearly checkup and two vaccine shots. ( Dr. Majeski) She did three things during the yearly examination, she combed his fur for fleas, barely looked at his front teeth and used some sort of gauze to whipped his ear for infection, because I had mentioned he may had an ear infection in his left ear. She didn't even bother to use Otoscope to check his ears. Didn't listen to his heart and lungs with Stethoscope. Didn't use Opthalmoscope to examine his eyes, even though I expressed that I was concerned he had cherry eye on his right side. No physical examination was performed. I asked her how much it would cost to do a UTI test. She quoted me 100 but the receptionist said 118. I left the appointment feeling like I should've said something because I just paid for an exam that my dog didn't properly receive. I went back to file a complaint on the Dr. She came out started lying listed all the things she did during the examination. Talking over me, I couldn't get a word in. I asked them to view the camera in the examination room to see that I was telling the truth. Dr. M wouldn't allow me to speak, she instructed the staff to call the police, fired me and kicked me out of the office. I wouldn't go back anyways. What an awful Veterinarian! Now, I am skeptical if they gave my dog the two vaccines I paid for since the shots were not done in front of me as it should be. Dr.M straight up lied to my face about everything else. I am skeptical!!!
