Didn't have a great experience. Felt like a white male on my cohort was given special treatment despite the bootcamp focusing on women and urm. Never got mock interviews despite perfect scores on assignments.

Kal is an awesome instructor! I enrolled for web development course she explained the concepts in a engaging manner and hands on work they provide definitely helped gain confidence and knowledge.Shortly after the class I joined Microsoft.I would definitely recommend her class.

I attended the Deep Stack Software Engineering boot camp. The projects were challenging and great portfolio pieces. Kal is an amazing teacher and resource in the tech community. One of the things I really appreciated was the intense work on data structures and algorithms in preparation for interviews. I just accepted an offer from Amazon to be a Software Engineer just 1 month after graduating!

I used Kal Academy's Full Stack Web Development bootcamp as a way to pivot into a tech career. I took the course Aug-Dec 2020. Kal, the owner, had a great setup for getting students working in a remote environment-- both as learners and as developers. Her coursework was relevant, at an appropriate rigor, and helped prepare me for my job hunt and interviewing process. As with any bootcamp, you get out what you put in, and there was definitely additional studying I did outside of the course for me to get my first role. However, I couldn't have leapt in so quickly without the structure, support, and industry insights of Kal Academy.Favorite aspects:- Getting experience with remote tools (Slack, GitHub, video calls, daily stand ups)- Walked out with portfolio projects I could showcase on applications- The school's mission! Increasing diversity and supporting underrepresented groups pivoting into the tech industry. - Mock interviews with experienced industry professionals. I got great feedback and support.from these!- Data structure and algorithms unit was intense (involved making ~20 hours of video solving technical challenges) but so valuable for interview prep!- Kal and her teaching assistants were very responsive and active in our Slack channelsI'm now nearly six months into my role as a full stack engineer and couldn't be happier.

I have gained more knowledge about the tech industry & and more importantly, the software development world more than I can imagine!!. your strategy, how you explain the concepts and dig deep into it, so each and every person in the class can grasp what has been thought by you is incredibly outstanding!.Honestly speaking, when I started the bootcamp, I knew just a few concepts about C# language, but not so much about the knowledge I have learned and gained throughout the past four month!. I struggled a lot when we were required to put at least 25 hours of work a week and I wanted to quit, but I realized there is know success in quitting, but being able to struggle, fail, make mistakes, and learn from it is the key to overcome and achieve any type of goals in life. The way you teach and explain the concepts was challenging for me, but by giving my full attention to watching the videos and listening to you taking in class is what has helped me to do better than I thought I would do and rewarded me with the completion of the certificate!.For anyone who is looking for affordable boot camp and interested in taking Software Development, Web Development Boot Camp, Data Structure and Algorithms, AI, and etc... I highly urge you to go through Kal Academy Boot Camp Program!.

I was looking for a career transition and came across Kal Academy. I attended the React Web Development class, which was a great learning experience for me. Project-based learning has proven to be beneficial in getting a hands-on experience of building responsive web pages with React. I loved Kal's teaching style which made it easy for me to understand complex concepts in react-redux. Highly recommended.

Great experience at Kal Academy. When I first started taking classes at Kal, I came with the intention to learn about Big Data. Big Data seemed to be a trending topic at tech companies & I was curious to learn about this area. Right after taking a Data Science class, I soon realized that I could do so much more so I decided to pursue the AI/Software Engineering full deep stack program. I am incredibly thankful to Kal for the education I gained. While the programs are fast paced, I learned more than I could imagine, and after several months of searching for a role in the tech industry, I was finally able to get hired by a top tech company. Whether you are interested in any of the programs solely for the purpose of learning or transitioning into the current tech market for a job, I highly recommend considering the opportunities Kal has to offer. As someone that worked full time, this was a tremendous opportunity I could not miss. I hope to hear more successful stories from students and to see more women in the technology field.

I completed two courses at Kal Academy - 'Introduction to C#' and 'Full Stack Software Development Boot Camp'. I can say without exaggeration that Kal is one of the best teachers I have had the opportunity to learn massively from. Kal has a vast professional experience, and at the same time makes students very comfortable in the class. She is very thorough with the details of information shared during the courses. I got a great opportunity to work on a variety of projects varying from Form applications to End-to-end web applications using a Micro-services containerized architecture. The assignments are extremely valuable and helped me gain more confidence in what I learned in the class. Moreover, the Staff is extremely helpful and the environment in the Academy is very comfortable. I thank Kal and the staff from the bottom of my heart on helping me get back to a Software Engineering career. I highly recommend Kal Academy to anyone who is looking to start a tech career or looking to return back to work after a break.

I have accepted the offer with top IT company in the market for my dream job. I would like to thank Kal Academy for helping me throughout my journey. Time since when I moved to Seattle area and after rejection from IT companies I contacted Kal for her guidance and then I took Data Structures and algorithms classes, C#. She is veteran in the tech industry, amazing teacher and slowly increase the level of difficulty as the classes goes by. She is always ready to support you anytime with any type of query. I would definitely recommend the data structure and algorithm courses from Kal, although other courses are amazing too. She prepares the latest content and teaches all the classes herself, that's shows her passion for quality teaching. I learned a lot about data structures and their working behind the scene. I really appreciate the way Kal teaches, it helped me in my actual interviews. I would also recommend the group study time at Kal Academy, it gives opportunity to meet the amazing people who are trying for the same goal as you are, gives the constant motivation to achieve more.

I highly recommend Kal Academy for those looking to make a career transition, re-enter the workforce, or add a new language/skill. If you have any hesitations about white boarding the Algorithms class is 10/10. Kal is passionate about access to tech opportunities and this is exemplified by the amount of industry connections available to students. This is an incredibly supportive learning environment and uniquely not for profit! It does require a high level of self driven learning.

I took Kal's Software Development Bootcamp. It's perfect for people who are working full-time and eager to skill-up. Kal is a great teacher and explains complex programming concepts in easy ways. I especially enjoyed the algorithm portion of the bootcamp because it helped me build a strong problem-solving mindset and prepare for technical interviews. If you want to advance your career in the tech industry and hone your coding skills, I would highly recommend signing up for one of her bootcamps.

I enrolled in the full stack web development course in Kal Academy. I had previous industry experience but not in the MEAN and MERN stack which were a part of this curriculum. What I liked about the course is that Kal helps you setup a real industry like environment, complete with a team, collaboration platform and projects where you build something using the concepts learnt in class. She creates a corporate type team environment in the class which gets you back in the habit of working as a team. You also have to spend a considerable amount of time outside of the class, if you really want to benefit from the course. Also, Data structure and algorithms was the part of the course which really helped us to face the real interviews Kal is a great teacher and she is very approachable and responsive to student queries. The best part of doing a course from Kal Academy is the level of outside support she offers in terms of helping to find a job (via internship opportunities, mock interviews etc). She sends out information about upcoming opportunities, networking and hiring events regularly and stays in touch with her cohort even well after they have finished the course. I highly recommend Kal academy to everyone who is looking for career change, job change and return to industry after a break.
