safeway on 176th & Canyon Rd. in Puyallup has the most Fabulous Friendly Florist!! OLGA is the most professional florist I have ever done business with. Many florists have standard designs but somehow Olga makes all her orders shine *beautifully*. She is friendly, prompt and helpful with choosing just the right item for any occasion. If you give her floral orders as a gift, you will be really pleased with the smiles they generate. Ive taken over a half dozen to people for this holiday season and I cant express enough how happy each person was. THANK YOU SAFEWAY for employing people like Olga who show how much they care about their job and the people it benefits!!

Went to Safeway today to pick some coffee and a few things for dinner, usually I go to winco or Freddy's but today I stopped here because of convenience. When I went through the self check out I had a few bumps that led to me over hearing an associates's conversation. This made me feel uneasy. Normally I don't like to leave reviews based on one interaction but I honestly just have a feeling I should share just in case it happened before or again. I heard the man working the self check out and another worker, calling management I believe "lying b*****s" and gossiping saying if they had one more reason he would "f*****g leave if he could, Safeway and Albertsons is toxic." I am writing this because if this is true then it should be addressed. Sad to say I have seen many toxic work environments and this location is one. Not sure what could be done better here but this was my experience here.

I enjoy shopping locally at this location. I live between two and this one is by far my favorite. Their staff is incredibly courteous and the check stands are top notch. Thank you for providing high quality food during this pandemic!

I had a racist encounter with their night time, PIC (person in charge) JO. My husband (an employee of store 1645 who just so happens to be of MIXED race.) ran in, to purchase our alcohol at the store we frequent (store 3228) closest to our home. Since he's familiar with policies and procedures at Safeway, he expected to ring the liquor bell, get his bottle and be free to finish his shopping and pay when he was done. This woman REFUSED to hand him what he asked for and then INSISTED she walk it to the front so he could pay. Which as far as we know is completely against policy. She went as far as even ringing him up herself. Which he knows is usually a last resort that a PIC is ringing people up. He came out to the car and shared with me that he's never felt like he's been racially discriminated against at any establishment in all his 25 years. Let alone the company he works for and has for a quarter of his life. My husband is a loved and WELL respected employee of Safeway. He doesn't deserve to be treated a certain way because of the color of his skin! It's 2020 and the time for casual, blatant racism is NOT NOW! I plan to escalate this situation as far and high as I need to for results. I'm appalled. Safeway as a corporation should be appalled. Jo SHOULD NOT be in a position of authority. Let alone be used as an example for how any employee should act towards a customer who's a person of color.

Arrived at Safeway on 176th and Canyon yesterday morning. Outside the entrance are the notices for masking and social distancing. I'm thinking great this should be a fairly safe store. I head to the produce dept first and see 1 employee stocking the produce with his mask hanging below his chin. I keep an eye on him as I am over by the loose veggies and he is by the packaged. He soon makes his way over to me and I tell him I am not comfortable with him not wearing his mask. He replies, Oh good morning to you too! I said no, it is not a good morning because you are not wearing your mask. He replies, I just came from the stockroom and I said no, I've watched you and you were just over there. So he lies to me and makes its clear he does not wear a mask in the back where all the produce is stored. Next incident is in the bakery where I am looking for a dessert. I come across an employee that has a clipboard and looks like she is checking inventory and has no mask at all. I ask the bakery employee if they are suppose to be wearing a mask and she replies, yes we are. I then say well you are out here and do not have one and I am not ok with that. She walks away, talks to another employee and they both just look at me. So I am guessing that again that this employee does not wear one in the back either. Not impressed. I get to the check out and I thank the checker for having her mask on. I inform her of having seen the employees without masks, she seems surprised. I look down the isle behind us and the employee stocking shelves does not have a mask on which I point out to her. A minute later in front of us comes an employee pushing a produce type cart toward the deli, again no mask on which I again point out to the cashier. I ask the cashier to please let management know. These incidents make the signs outside the entrance deem useless. If my next visit proves to be that the staff are not practicing safe COVID measures then I will take my business elsewhere and will definitely spread the word.

NO chocolate fudge out out out a week before Christmas! I figured they would have restocked since last weekend but here we are the next Sunday and this Safeway is still out of the classic chocolate fudge! I just can't compromise to rocky road fudge ew! I'm sad to report this is actually the third store I've searched for fudge at over the weekend and every Safeway is totally out of the classic fudge has all the other holiday bakery items though..

I like the Location of this Safeway because it's in a plaza with many other businesses and restaurants. The store is clean and never had issues with missing items. They could improve the number of people working at the cash registers as wait times can get ridiculous. There have been a few times where the lines were so long that people started to line up in the grocery aisles. I do use the bakery a lot but there were two times where they messed up my cakes. However, they corrected the situation by either giving a full refund or a huge discount. I also feel that the prices at Safeway are much higher. So, I don't recommend doing a huge shopping run if you are on a budget.... but they are my preferred store for baked goods and produce. Also, they have a gas station that comes in handy especially with the discount.
