Update... After two rounds of antibiotics due to Petco injuring Sammy we sadly had to bring him back to the vet for the 4th time. They said the antibiotics destroyed his gut flora resulting in vomiting and diarrhea. Petco still refuses to pay us a dime. The next step is court since they refuse to do the right thing.

I'm old enough to remember when customer service was paramount. Some kids today are really kind and respectful and working in retail is good for them to do. Some are not! My experience in the aquarium department, well, let's just say that I hope the fish I was going to but is doing ok at the store and that the rest of them are over the terror of the way the employee scared the $#it out of them!!!

I'm fortunate in that I live close to both a PetSmart store and a PETCO store in Puyallup, Wa. I purchased a fish aquarium heater 2 days ago at PETCO and it worked but it did not get to the heat level that I needed for my Discus fish, whch is 84 to 86 degrees. It says it goes to 88 degrees but never delivered heat above 80 degrees. I gave it 2 days and it never budged. - - - So I took the aaquarium heater back to the PETCO store that I purchased it from. But the person at the cash register gave me the 3rd degree as she obviouly did not trust me. She kept looking and looking and looking for something wrong as if I may have damaged it and was trying to take advantage of her personally. I had already told her I just wanted to exachange it for one that worked correctly. Then she called someone else over and this lady mumbled somethiung at me with a cold look and thgen kept walking. I could not understand a word she said but it wasn't helpful or welcoming. - - I felt and still do feel as if PETCO likes you and will help you with enthusiasm when you are giving them your money but still, I'm the same customer needing help when I retrurned but I wasn't treated that way. If PETCO cared about their customers they would have proactively trained their employees in advance but they have not trained them about customer service at all, unless they see you taking out your wallet. But there is an anwer for this and it's called PETSMART which will now be my first choice when needing any pet related supplies. They treat me with the same courtesy when I return an item as they treat me when I am buying from them. There is such a drastic contrast in service.

Nicole is an excellent dog trainer. I recommend getting your puppies trained by her. My sessions were weekly with homework to be done (because consistency is key). She addressed behaviors I was concerned with and always made herself accessible to us. Coco was always happy to see her friend with all the tasty treats.

I love this Petco! I have never had a bad experience here. It's always a quick and easy shopping trip. I ran in yesterday and got a couple things. It's always clean and really easy to find what I need. Stephanie was super friendly and helpful. Thanks for being so awesome!!!! And y'all got super cute sweaters for my dogs!

Everytime i go to this specific petco it's just a very sad and uncomfortable experience. the employees take forever to help you in the aquatics area and take forever to checkout. there one specific worker that just makes your business everyone else's and that's also what makes it uncomfortable. this store also need more workers cause 1 cashier is not ENOUGH.

idk if these guys are going out of business or if they just don't have any product but the shelves are completely empty. I tried to go down an isle and they had stacked metal shelves so deep not only could I not reach the product, one snagged my heel cutting it open and it fell with a loud bang. Nobody even batted an eye. I'm never coming back to this place.

Thank you for helping me get my fish set up so they are happy and healthy! My last visit was fish accessories and food for my gecko. I did use their dog training service years ago and I found it helpful and the trainer kind and knowledgeable.

You know. Not too terrible. They are short staffed so I waited and waited and waited some more for some help. But when someone did come out, they were friendly. The store was clean given there are fish, reptiles, and birds living there. Selection of stuff for your pet isn't that great and it's pretty over priced. Better deals on Amazon. This is a smaller store as well. Again, decent all around. Staff was nice but just so short staffed it's almost like you feel invisible in there.

do not come to this location. if i could give zero stars i would. i placed a PAID ORDER for pickup, and we got there 5 MINUTES prior to the store being closed and the MANAGER locked the door and told us they were closed and couldn't find our order then proceeded to lock the door. We decided to turn around GO BACK to the store when a REGULAR employee found our order within seconds. This branch or store needs a new manager considering the employees preform better than the manager based off this instance. I will be driving to tacoma rather than coming here ever again.

Petco in Puyallup Is a nice enough pet supply and pet carrier store... From pet food to toys, treats, and services... They've got just about everything you need including doggy grooming services. Popped in with my bestie so we could grab some food for his two little guinea pigs Kyle and Nigel, but did some browsing while in the store, especially around the reptiles and fish. The tanks and general area around the fishes needed a little updating and TLC... The entire store is slightly outdated with tiles and layout as well. I will say they do have a great assortment of furry, scaley, and various critters who could use a good home. It was pretty early so not many people on the floor and when we went to check out it seems they might have been short-staffed as the one line was backed up and someone was clocking in when we finally were 2nd to next in line. We weren't offered any help on the floor even though we passed two Petco Crew... which felt odd. We were able to find exactly what we needed by process of elimination and both of us formerly worked retail for years... bittersweet perks and talents of years past. I was tempted to buy the Spongebob pineapple fish house I snapped a pic of... Correction... repositioned it so it was more eye-catching and then snapped a pic... So tempted to redo some of their endcaps and displays. Go for the pets... Just be prepared for a little lack of service, unfortunately.

I asked for small crickets and employee "Will" said yes we have small crickets and walked away quickly and disappeared instead of bagging up the crickets for me. So, I decided not to get any since he was so rude. The cashier needed change for my other purchase and called "Will" who never came to bring her any change. She gave me all ones so I could leave. Very poor employee management. Seriously disappointed in this store.

Dumb bitch named Hallie who was working on 2/18/22 7:25 pm. She came by not even saying excuse me, pushing her way though. The bitch came back around while my man and I were picking a harness and she came right in the middle to hang someone up. Can't you see someone's having a conversation and you cut in front? Then I went to pay with my gift card and she made me punch in the 16 digit code when you can easily scan it. She had hella attitude, she needs to check herself.

The products I buy for my cat are always in stock and I used a Petco coupon to save on dry cat food Science Diet. I also found a Sherpa backpack carrier for my cat, she loves it!
