Very thoughtful and caring staff. Been seeing them for years. They are very good about getting back to me. They also take time to check on my pet to see how my dog is doing.

It has taken me a couple years to be able to to talk about this. For several years I took pets to South Hill Veterinary Hospital and just loved the staff and the high quality care they provided. I had the bad luck of several high cost medical conditions with a number of rescue cats & dogs. I spent many thousands of dollars with SHVH. SHVH provided such caring experise through inflammation of the badder, 2 cancers, chronic skin condition, high risk tail amputation, a poisoning/kidney failure and more. But at some point SHVH changed from high cost great caring medical services to $$$$ money money money only being the priority. I made the terrible decision to recommend a 2 friends. I'll mention the 2nd first. I explained to SHVH that my friend liked her vet and would only change hospitals based on cost. I provided the breed, size, and billing codes for the services she wanted to price check. SHVH's response: For office visit charge they would provide answer on the cost question. Health care cost transparency not on the agenda for SHVH. The other friend, very tragic experience, was puppy I referred that same week. The 1 year old dog was diagnosed at a vet in Olympia with a fast growing cancer. I contacted SHVH on a Monday. The puppy was scheduled for a Thursday surgery at Summit Referral Center. Because the doggy would be inpatient for a few days my friend was worried because no one would be able to visit. She lived too far away. I had such great experience with SHVH she wanted to check their availability because I lived close by for puppy IP visits. Because I had the relationship with facility she asked me to coordinate. I called and gave all the specifics to scheduling receptionist. SHVH had opening that Friday. We emailed (and delivered hard copies) of lab reports, x-rays and scans of the cancer. I left a VM with the surgeon on the specifics stating: I beg that SHVH be honest and if the procedure is too complex let us know. It is a fast growing cancer. Critical that surgery need to happen asap that week. If SHVH could not do the Friday surgery, the dog needed to keep the Thursday appointment at Summit Referral. I said the dog is hard to transport. Large and terrified of cars. Could the dog receive the cursory OV exam & fee Friday morning before the surgery since SHVH already had all the info- chart notes, exam results, lab work (reception had said no problem). SHVH did not cancel the appointment. They called and confirmed appointment! My friend took her dog in for surgery that Friday morning. When she arrived, she was told that -NO- the surgery was too complex so there would be no surgery that Friday. SHVH stated they didn't want to tell her this over the phone, they wanted to tell her in person, because they wanted to talk to her about future lab services. Because it was the Christmas holiday season Summit Referral could not get her another surgical appointment for 2 weeks. Her puppy died a week & a half later. SHVH's greed for the $50 office visit fee cost her dog's life. I confronted SHVH asking why they were not honest up front especially since I literally said that "I beg they be honest". SHVH said they decided that since my friend did not call with the information herself (because she had me as liason) that there was no reason to be upfront on surgical capabilities. They said they stood by their decision in & how they handled the appointment and would do nothing different if given a second chance. I find that so terrible. They knowingly sacrificed this young dog's life just to make $50. I would recommend customers use their best judgment when critical care is needed. I will regret forever recommending this place to my friend. Their dog was so sweet. My referral to SHVH cost him his chance to survive his cancer and to this day it still breaks my heart .

My dog caught kennel cough and I called first thing Monday morning to get him in to be seen. Maria was awesome. Helped us schedule an "emergency" appt that afternoon. My dog was hacking up a lung coughing. Got sent home with two medication one bottle said "for cough". My poor dog hasn't slept more than 3 hours a night. Fast forward to Thursday, his cough is worse than when we first got there. I call and we get strong cough medication. Come to find out the medication that was given "for cough" was "for nausea". Not to mention I called at 730 Thursday morning, and the new medication wasn't ready till after 5pm. I go in ask to speak to the manager, and tell her my story. Her response to medication taking all day was oh you are lucky you got it today, and her response to getting medication that wasn't for cough was, I'm not a dr we'll get someone to call you. It's my dog, like my kid, no respect for my worry or my 14 year old dog hacking up a gut. She seemed more worried about the clinic closing in 15 mins. Not my fault you took so long to fill my medication. I'll find some other place that will care about my dog.

They took such great care of my little tiger!! He needed surgery on his teeth and they fit him in. He couldn't even eat. I'm so appreciative. Love them.

Very please with this Vet Clinic & the entire staff. They really work to treat each pet like family. SHV understands the needs of each pet. Thankful & switching all of my animals here from Sumner Vet where record keeping and communication has dropped significantly over the past three years. South Hill Vet hires and keeps quality employees & I don't just feel like a number as at other Vet offices.

If I could give zero stars I would. I should have left with my dog pipi (who is docile and all of 11 pounds) after he was roughly handled by the vet tech (who's name they would not give when I inquired). I was not allowed to go in the back with him for his shots, and when he came out, at first he seemed fine. However once we were home he spent the entire day shaking and crying under the bed, and limping. Every time I went to pick him up, he screamed in pain. This morning he is still sore. The shots they gave him could have been administered subcutaneously (under the skin) but instead were administered intramuscularly (in the muscle) I come from a family that loves and has always had dogs. Never have any of us EVER seen a reaction like this. Do NOT bring your pet here. They obviously have no clue what they're doing, and pay no mind whatsoever to the emotional or physical health of your pet. Zero stars. They turned a simple vaccination into a traumatic event for Pipi and everyone who loves him.

Should be zero stars. South Hill Vet not only abused my dog while he was boarded with them, but they couldn't be bothered to give him any sort of proper care. On his most recent appointment they made it seem as if they were doing us a favor by doing their jobs. They treated me and my dog like dirt, couldn't be bothered to treat him or investigate what was wrong. Due to the ineptitude and negligence of South Hill Vet my dog is now dead. If you have even an ounce of respect for yourself or an ounce of love for your pets, do not take them here. South Hill Veterinary Hospital is responsible for the death of my dog.

Modus operandi is to take the quickest least time consuming approach with your animal but charge full price and nickel and dime you. Then when you need to go back due their quick fix approach they charge you again full price for everything. Additionally, the animals suffer the trauma of multiple but preventable return visits. Revenue over genuine care here.

I've been taking my feline baby Raider here and 3 of my dogs here for 7 years now. I'm definitely a loyal customer! Most affordable vet with highest quality of care and service in the area!

Just a heads up - I paid $26 for an inflatable cone with my Aussie's neuter. Got home and the cone was too big (XL). He slipped right out of it. They never asked me what size cone I wanted. I asked for an exchange or a refund and they refused to do either. Not sure why they refused to do the right thing and at least give me a refund, due to no exchanges because of COVID. So now I need to go to Petsmart and purchase another one.

Been going to this place for 15 years or so. When we first started to go there they treated us great. The past few years I've noticed a decline in their customer service. We boarded our three dogs a cat there last year when we took a trip to Disneyland after my wife battled stage 3 breast cancer. They took forever getting my big dog. Then they brought her out and she was covered in her feces. I said why is she covered in her own feces. They said it must've just happened. They said they could spray her down but not wash her. So I said forget it now she seen us it'll probably distress her even more. So I put her in my truck wrapped her in a couple towels and took her home to clean her in my tub. The. I noticed when I was washing her there was some really dried feces on her like it's been on her for awhile. Just chalked it up like I'll just bring them there for vet visits. The past few weeks we've been having a issue with my two Yorkie's meds. Got an 11 year old with chronic ear problems. So we've been going there quite a bit lately trying to get this issue fixed. Two time in a row they gave us the older dogs meds and not the younger one. Did charge the first time but charges the second time. So naturally you get charged and do receive what you paid for it's a little irritating. So my wife calmly called to let them know and just said the front desk girl forgot a couple time and charged us once. A few days later we got a phone call telling us we are no longer welcomed there and they are mailing us our animals paperwork. My wife said whoa what is the issue. The lady said you have been extremely hostile to our staff and you are not welcomed here anymore. My wife said I'm a manager and before I'd make a decision like that I'd want to get the customer side. She just kept being extremely rude to my wife and wouldn't even hear what she was saying. She said ask Dr Stoehr about me. I've been going to see him the last couple years. Still didn't want to hear her side. So I suggest that you don't start going here. Cause whoever is managing this place is doing the worst job possible. I've been in customer service for the past two and half decades and I'd never go off the word of an employee and ban a customer from my establishment that I'm running. The front desk girls will make you wait forever before they even acknowledge you. We've spent a lot of money there. Now we will take our money to better run vet and not look back.

Thanks Dr. Chang for a great service! It is a little odd to not be with your pets during the exam because of Covid, but they keep you well-informed and call you and walk you through every step.

I had to bring my Cooper to the hospital today. I called in first to inquire the urgency which it was, according the "internet". Due to COVID-19, you must call in once you are parked in their well organized and very spacious parking with a number. Front of the office is well Instructions are written outside a clinic in a white board on what to do once you are parked. I love their process because it keeps pets less nervous, like my Cooper. Call was quick with minimal information requested and after 20min, an assistant came and inquired more further details about Cooper. Brought him inside and long story short, service was excellent from beginning to end. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.

First time there, a little weird with the covid situation but they are doing a great job given the situation. Everyone was super nice! Reasonably priced also! I will use this as my go to vet for any further services.
