Great place for college kids to rent. Clean, affordable, and nice. 2 of my 4 rented from Helene's and love it.

One star is far too many. Absolute slum lord. I helped my son clean his apartment top to bottom. Cleaner than when he moved in. He just receive a notice telling him they are charging him a $340 cleaning fee then an additional $135 rug cleaning fee for what started as the nastiest shag rug I’ve ever seen back when he moved in. They’ll take your money and will not put a cent back into the places themselves. His apartment should have been painted and recarpeted many tenants ago. She is unethical at every turn. I look forward to the bogus response, Helene. Let’s see how our photographs compare.

my boyfriend lived in one of their apartments and their kitchen sink stopped working. they refused to fix it and they had to wash their dishes in the bathroom sink for a month. when they called them and asked them to fix it they said no and to take them to court. their door stopped working and it took two weeks for some guy to come try and fix it, all he did was scrape down the door to try and make it fit in the frame. he left the whole mess of the shaved down door for them to clean up too. their shower was clogged the whole time which they never came to fix. at the end of their lease, they only got about $100 of their security deposit back and they 1000% left it in better condition than it was in when they moved in. the rent is cheap for a reason, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

I recently had to move, and found myself seeking an apartment, but I am not familiar with Pullman realty and I was frustrated and forlorn. However, I found Helene’s Property Management, and the entire experience transformed, as the friendly and knowledgeable staff guided me through each necessary step with patience and a genuine positivity that made this whole process much more palatable. Having negative experiences in the past, I assumed that finding a place to rent would be a nightmare, however, I’m now renting an affordable apartment I am completely satisfied with, I even had an electrical issue and they had an electrician out the next day and all is well.

Would rate zero if I could, they scammed us out of our entire security deposit even though we cleaned the entire apartment and left it spotless. Then they have the audacity on top of that to try and get ten more dollars out of us. Not to mention, they want you to have a high credit score to even get an apartment from them. This is a trap for college students who don't know what they're getting into. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Very disorganized. Called them to see a new listing and was hung up on 5 different times. They said they were busy and i was put on hold for a long time. We made an appointment to see this listing and we show up to our appointment and they said it was already taken. They never even called us back to cancel the showing. They wasted our time and money by being disorganized. Employees need new training or the place needs a better system.

I recently moved into a unit managed by Helene's and really enjoy the property and space. The application process went very smooth. I have only put in one maintenance request and it was for an outdoor common space. There was someone there the next day doing the repairs which I greatly appreciated the promptness!

Helene’s has been amazing for me so far!! They’ve been attending to maintenance requests as soon as they can and they’re always available via email or phone when I’ve needed them to be!The staff are also all super nice, especially Jaime on the maintenance team & they always clear my “total due” amounts within a day or two after I pay them(if you’re a peace of mind girl like me then you get it)! Happy to renting from a place that cares about me so much as a paying tenant! ? ✨

I would give "0" stars if I could. We have unfortunately had to deal with this property manager for the past few years. One of our sons is currently living in a fraternity managed by her. Recently the boys were served raw chicken for dinner. The property manager was emailed & responded that she will wait to discuss with the chef after the boys leave for Christmas break. This is clearly a health violation. Her response epitomizes the unprofessionalism in performing her responsibilities as property manager. This is not the first problem we have had with her. She is never very quick in making things better. Her responses are always demeaning.

Pullman has some of the most parasitic vultures when it comes to realator companies but Helene's has to be the worst of them all. The comment "stay away from Dabco" exists fresh in my mind but the same sentiment applies to Helene's. The management and staff hardly care about tenants and care even less about maintaining the buildings. I had stayed in Elmhurst for two years and was perplexed by the conditions of the building which were poor, and did some research using local historical resources to find that the building is at least 100 years old based on old Pullman newspaper ads. This would not be so bad if it had been reasonably updated but any actual renovations to maintain the disheveled building were (as a speculation) likely done at the soonest the 70s.However, this is a review of Helene's as a landlord and business. I have never seen a business care so little to uphold any positive reputation, looking to nickel and dime at every corner, charging for a poorly maintained parking lot roughly 3 blocks away from the apartment building it is closest to. Rather than take care of cleaning their apartments, the ask that tenants pay for carpet cleaning themselves and provide proof instead of taking it out of security deposits, only to claim that the carpets in my apartment "needed to be vaccuumed" in their cleaning report. My roommate and I both noticed that some rooms in our apartment reeked of cigarette smoke despite the "no smoking" policy which would not be so bad if it didn't confirm that they did not bother to clean the carpets. As the years went on the apartment experienced more and more problems, not because of any problems on our part but purely because of poorly maintained appliances clearly given temporary fixes that will last just for the lease before breaking or falling into ruin soon after, something I could tell was the case because nothing other than the fridge looked like it had been taken care of. All of this is just a small partCommunication is also not Helene's strongsuit, with them failing to follow through on an email I had sent months ago until I followed up with them TWICE. This was in regards to me getting my security deposit back and money that I had overpaid. They have still failed to properly address this concern even after emailing them about it. I have been unhappy with Helene's service since my arrival and I cannot tolerate getting charged for a building being left to fall apart. In short, stay away from Helene. Just the worst.
